I reupload this video as the Hover X1 has been rebranded to the Hover Air X1 and it is now a retail product that can be purchased directly. In this video, we are looking at the Hover X1 Pocket-Sized Self-Flying drone. This is a self-flying autonomous mini drone that comes in at 125 grams and is probably one of the easiest drones to fly. It is reliable, it just works every time and can capture really nice content in 2.7k. This could be a valuable tool for many different types of creators or those who want to capture their life moments without learning to fly a drone. We take a look and demonstrate all the different self-flying modes including the following function that works very well even if following you on a bike.

Definitely an interesting offering and it would fill a good amount of coverage for vlogging, friends/family events. That $399.00 USD price is a deal breaker however. The sweet spot would have been $249.00 for the drone / $299 kit.

Way overpriced, Just checked on prices for us here in Ireland €488 (US$531) not worth it... The quoted 2.7k video is mediocre as a result of a very poor lens, along with other deficiencies @@Phillsen

This did surprisedly well, I was impressed. I had the same misgivings on this drone as you did. It would great for someone who wants some simple drone shots, but doesn’t want to learn how to fly a drone. Great review, and thanks for sharing.

Anyways: You got to love this piece of tech. It aims right at those people who doesn't like all the hustle of owning a drone, but they do want the opportunity to get some cool aerial shots. Such a lovely little drone!

Nice review. This unit is perfect for all kind of things. I would like to see one other feature added... recon mode. By that I mean going straight up to a height that might be above the local trees, then do a slow orbital pan and then come straight down. This would make a great tool for hikers that would like to see some terrain from above.

This drone is just right for my elderly mother. She doesnt have to learn to fly a drone yet she can get some nice footage while out with the preset modes. The whole thing fits on her purse and it hardly wrights anything. In fact i might get me one too to carey on my truck every day.
Another great review.... I didn't know about this drone until today and order one. Have most of the DJI drones and now my favorite one is the Mini 4 pro. But for quick capture it will be kind of like my GO 3 mini camera. Or the GO 2.. Then my Action 4 and 3 are more for UTV action. But the GO 3 I use a lot and the video even though its 2.7K it shows very well. I heard you mention it comes from the company that made the V-Copter Falcon which I have and this reminded me to get the batteries charged up. Anyway again love you reviews.. Dave...

I own one and first thing I mention is battery life, I use it mainly to hover and record while I work @ 2k. Before I know it battery needs changing, I do lose track of time when I work but then again no need to record the whole time I’m working. I did get and xtra battery so I have 3. Also got the white one for heat here in the south. Good little thing for B roll. The properties I have 2 of them are not level / flat so good to take it slow on slopes or color and or ground texture changes. one of the Best parts to me is no time wasting setting up my DJI mini 3 pro for simple yet fast customizable footage.

That's an interesting take on a few similar (but poorly implemented) ones we have seen over time. No, I won't be selling the Mavic 3 Pro, Air 2, 2S or Mini 3 Pro. But I might grab one for some fun.

Just watched someone create some manual footage - it works fine if you need a simple push in at a moderate height - this is usually all I need for a reveal shot.
Great review of an impressive drone and exactly what I would need for my channel, especially as I film at 2.7K anyway. A bit too pricy for me at the moment and unsure is this would be available in the UK anyway but if it was and the price dropped, an ideal addition for me on my channel. Thanks for the great review! Thank you Amazon designed this drone because why not? They are worth $1.3 trillion & can afford it & hold the patents designing similar. It seems Amazon has gone from retail into hanging out with Seattles other 2 famous players… microsoft & boeing. So who put the first paying customer into space & stole the contract right under SpaceX to build the final lander to put Americans back on the moon. Jeff Bezos, not Amazon, he only built Amazon, today he is throwing his money at becoming the first to mine the moon. Forbes predicts he will be Americas first TRILLIONAIRE. He will reach that goal from you Seattle & he owns 100% Blue Origin and all the wealth on the Moon. He can buy an atmosphere if he needs one. And someone will build him one. Trust me.

How do you get the drone back to you when it's in Dolly mode and other distant activities? Well the other people who reviewed it said that if you wave at it it will come back to you! But I thought you completely missed how astounding it is beyond the gigabytes of memory, that this simple device can autonomously do things and use its cameras to recognize your hand and land on it, recognize your face and body and follow you or lead you, and remain stable as it shoots up to move you. I started micro computing with 1K Kim-1 and 48K Apple IIs and the progress since then has been astonishing to me.
After the first video you did, I ordered one and it just arrived yesterday. I charged the batteries last night and am going outside shortly to test.
Would love one just beyond my price bracket.

You could not capture those shots without an expert cameraman at your side. Your riding your bike, your controling your Mavic, I don't think so. And it records voice. This toy is amazing. I wish I hadn't already spent a small fortune on DJI stuff and still not have what this little guy does..

How long can it record before running out of storage space and battery? The front dolly ebike shot is quite good and stable!
Pretty cool. Can I use this hover drone to fly out ahead of me - if I want to have it film the scenery in front of me without me being kin the video frame? For instance in travel videos where I want to catch the scenery without me being in the field of view all of the time.

You stand still for 3 seconds and it comes to you when the light changes from red to green you can put your hand under it. I had same problem as you first time I used dolly track

I’m over here looking at this like this is perfect for shooting high angle and aerial music videos! I’d have this paid off by charging $150 extra to bring the drone out.
Noise reduction is easy. You sample the noise by itself and then flip the wave and mix it with original sound and you have subtracted the noise. Goldwave lets you sample a large size for longer looping noises to erase.

Yeah, I never really touched base in the video on that. It has built-in memory, and when you connect it to the app. You can transfer the con tent over to your smart phone or tablet. I do believe you can also plug it in by the USB-C into a tablet or PC. And transfer the files manually.
I miss the good old times where we used to use the word "algorithm" and didnt call every piece of software "A.I."..
I feel the same way. Especially since algorithm and AI are not the same thing in computer science. It's a buzz word that's being constantly misused for marketing reasons.

Well thats the beauty of the English language. It may have come from a small country called England where it evolved from the only acceptable language from Roman conquers of that time & quickly became intermixed by local indigenous tribal languages spoke by those who moved in when Romans moved out. As England grew to represent an organized nation under rule by one most powerful King his subjects learned to speak & write the “Kings English” & wrote Dictionaries to define every one acceptable definition of the Kings words as he knew them to be & you couldn’t change that definition without his approval. But as his small nation grew so did his language creating new words & multiple definitions that no single person could take control of, but he tried which is why they still teach the Kings English today (or the “Queens English” depending on who has the right to the throne) so their is still a proper way to speak English & unfortunately Americans have decided to massacre that language because they had no language of their own & felt they deserved it along with their self proclaimed right to so-called “independence” & lets start right there with changing definition of a word, as well as “liberty” & “freedom” i don’t think you can find 3 better words whose definition do not apply to what Americans received. Another fine example is the word “democracy” which America calls itself when its own legal definition contradicted what their founders actually created… a “republic” even stealing his majesty’s “pledge of allegiance” which calls itself “and under the REPUBLIC for which it stands, one nation, individual, with liberty”… etc etc etc 😳 BUT WAIT, Americans massacred that pledge as well, many times, most recently in 1956 when your leaders, members in Congress acting as a republic acts, added the words “under God” to the pledge under ownership of her majesty QE2, which was never bought by America, never sold to America, but was stolen by Americans & then passed off for their Republic to massacre into a pledge of their own liking without any compensation to the nation whose people it was written for. And its not like your people had any choice, your Congress has all the choices because that defines the word Republic which is not a democracy. In a “real” democracy the people have ability to force legal changes a government has forced upon its people. What legal authority does any American have to stop your Congress from doing whatever it pleases? ANSWER: your Supreme Court, which is restricted to its Constitution. And who has the authority to change the Constitution? The people? Hell no! Congress is the only authority to change your constitution, and do so if they please to do so. The people have no authority or ability to make any changes which is why America can not be a democracy yet to this day your Congress is actively trying to change the very definition of that word by calling itself a democracy while forcing their school children to take a pledge stolen from the Kings who literally built the very foundation of your nation (thanks to slavery) and confusing those poor children by forcing them to recite the pledge you are a republic while that old nearly dead President of yours lies to the same children saying your nation is a democracy? And as always the ignorant fall well in line & American dictionaries redefine the meaning of the word “Republic” calling it a “nation with democracy principles” OH REALLY?! Like the Peoples Republic of China? Or the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics? Like those two well known Republics? How much of democracy principles do they have? Is organ harvesting from prisoners on death row sent to death fir speaking out about their government a principle of democracy as your dictionaries are now defining the word Republic as? A republic is a nation which has full authority to make itself a totalitarian regime that the people CAN’T PREVENT.
So right now you mention 2 words which apparently are filled with too many letters for your fat fingers to type out so you massacred them into “AI” because it should be “algorithm”. I’m confused. Algorithm has more letters than its competitor does. Maybe fat fingers prefer AI over that other word because those fingers are fat AND lazy & prefer the less letters fat fingers have to needlessly type out. In the war of language it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who or which word is going to win here. The smaller shorter lazy word ALWAYS WINS because that is how America -a nation built as a Republic, for future Republicans, & are engaged in a bitter civil war since at least 1980 when Ronald Reagan declared war on what little democracy your nation has remaining… the Democratic party😢- this is why people feel they have authority & freedom to use our language & change the meaning of words by simply using it in the opposite context. Reagan started it by redefining the word “Liberal” into meaning an offensive 4 letter word despite the word containing 7 letters. Not only was he your worse President, he couldn’t count either! But his strategy worked he did turn a 7 letter word to one which is defined as “f--en sh-t” today. When the legal definition of Liberal is “a innovative progressive thinker who uses changes to solve old or new problems” See? I had to add a letter “s” at the end of change otherwise people think I’m talking about money. Ever think about that? Probably not. Apparently your skinny fingers & i are on equal sides of MY (not yours) English language. We have more important things to use our nuclear cannons over. Each other would be illogical. But discussion which words should have such meanings of a language your country stole simply because the French scared you & the Spanish were too dark when you had hundreds of indigenous languages but decided to massacre them like you have done to my language for the past 247 YEARS (OMG you’re almost 250, fuck me!) seems to be a matter of making choices when legally that is debatable, in our courts, ours were built under democracy which forced us to rewrite that “pledge”
I pledge allegiance to my flag & for the DEMOCRACY for which it stands, we are ONE NATION, indivisible, with more liberty & justice than Americans will ever know. Because they are a Republic 🤣

No, it is not water resistant. And they warn not to fight over water. The sensors on the bottom don’t like water.
This looks so much like the Air Selfie drone. I bought that years ago when it became retail after Kickstarter. It was awful! You could not trust it to do any autonomous mode right. I decided to give it to my young nieces as a toy. As i was testing it before I gave it to them, it flew and hit me in the face. So I wouldn't even give it to them; I just trashed it. Hope this one is more reliable.
Indeed, I had that drone as well, and I never made a video about it because it was horrible. I tested it for two weeks and can never get it to work properly. This one works surprisingly well in fact, I’ve been using it the last couple days while I’ve been traveling out east. They’ll be clips in my outdoor vlogs. It just works every time. Easy to pull out, deploy, and then put in my pocket.
hello, If purchased, I would be using this X1 video 2.7 K/30 mixed with Gopro footage 2.7K/30, is the X1 video quality close to the Gopro quality? Are there video adjustments similar to Protune in the X1 App for white balance, exposure, etc.? Thank you for the demonstration.
The gopro has much better image quality.
What happens if you fly over the cliff (altitude)? How is quality when you shoot establishing shots? Is it any good for content creators or just for selfie-stuff? Thanks
ZeroZero hit it out of the park with this drone, have two of them, one for the wife. It adopts Apple's saying, it just works and simple to use. A perfect selfie/group camera and like them or not for their past issues they do come out with innovative tech from the their first Hover Passport to the V-Coptr and Hover 2 for the few that got them. This drone looks to be fully supported too by them and are promising even more updates , like gesture controls. Wish they offer a camera/gimbal protector.

Unfortunately, It can only follow people at this point. Who knows maybe a firmware update will add new features.

The price is absolute joke
It is nifty, but it is also a USD 199/249 kit, maximum price, in all sincerity. Range for hover and short pop for birds' eye are not impressive for the price range, and 20kph, no gully, cliff, or waterway terrain, and wind sensitivity are issues.
I don't mean to destroy the unit, it has its place and convenience, maybe good for family bicycle rides, an isolated beach where its near proximity paired with its noise wouldn't bother others for example, but not in the 300 USD price range. JMO

Idk if I missed this information. But how’s the battery life? for how long it flies in a avg?
I just purchased this drone, and I like it! But there are pros and cons. On the positive side, it does most of what it says it does; on the negative side, there is only a 10 or 12-minute battery life, even though it comes with two batteries, and it takes up to 4 hours to charge 1 battery. I see the advertising showing people getting followed on their bikes; I guess the bike ride is less than 10 minutes long. There is minimal instruction on how to use it; also, when sharing the video or picture, it's not as clear as the original. I had to research TH-cam to find out how to work things; with that being said, I give it a 7.5 out of 10 rating.
Where did you get the bodycam harness?
Would this be good for following me and my buddies around on motorcycles doing stunts around 30-40mph?

Can you set it to where it flys at a specific height? When it's following me I wouldn't want someone to steal it.
I do motorcycle travelling and have found my mavic to be terrible for following it never works properly and the remote is awkward to carry this little drone seems to follow a lot better.
In dolly mode to land just hold out your hand it will recognise your hand and offer a land 😊

It can be purchased with 2 batteries and charging hub. Batteries charge pretty fast, I'd say 2hrs and flight time per battery I'm getting is around almost 10min which is actually very good cause you're not flying this like a normal camera drone. One more or less operates this on a ad-hoc basis, the moment you want a selfie or group vid/pics or just want an orbit/arial around a nice spot/landmark it's ready and then back in your pocket for the next adventure.

2.7 K is the maximum resolution.
So this one can not be used when you are at the Tower or Top floor of the building and if you in the Boat?
