As a fellow Christian death metal head I think they should have used: “Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, the sound of your harps; maggots are laid as a bed beneath you, and worms are your covers.” Isaiah 14:11 (The prophets have so many metal verses)
One I like is Psalm 69:24 (NLT) "Pour out your fury onto them, consume them with your burning anger." Glad to see more Christians in the metal scene :)
@@StorNorsk I was primarily going off of what most felt like a rhyme or song poetry, so I feel like some examples like yours wouldn’t be as good as others who have at least a little bit of rhyme thrown into them, even though the themes fit super well
I got every single one of them right! lol There is just a tell-tale syntax that gives it away. No normal person writes/speaks the way the Bible is written! Of course, it is written/translated that way on purpose so the words maintain a certain gravitas. That said, I think there are versions out there that use a more normal prose, but they just don't have the same Bible-y feel. "Thou shall not bare false witness against thy neighbor" sounds a whole lot more epic than "Don't lie, bro!"

I know it’s the DickeyDines show and audio issues aren’t really a surprise at this point but I figured I’d point that out for y’all lmao 🤘🤘

Super excited for more content. The only one I missed was Monotheist (I actually really like Monotheist’s Scourge; great prog-death album). If you ever do another video like this, I feel like you need to get more from religious/occult inspired black metal like Mephorash and Behemoth or “unblack” metal like Antestor, Grave Declaration, Crimson Moonlight, etc. You could probably mistake some Bathory or Burzum lyrics for the Old Testament too.
As a Christian, and also loving Christian metal this was pretty easy for me. Song lyrics I knew right away even the artists! There was only one song lyric that I couldn't put my finger on right away but all the others I got. But this was pretty funny to see Austin trying to guess them. Was entertaining :)
I really liked "evolution of an artist" series. You should do either As I Lay Dying, or All that Remains. Keep up the good work, your videos always put a smile on my face, they make my day.
