Been saying it for a while but Ethan Hawke is one of those guys that’s known and well-respected among movie fans (think John Cusack, Jeff Daniels, etc) but get nowhere near the recognition he deserves - this dude has GEMS and a sneakily good filmography: The Before Trilogy, Gattaca, Predestination, Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead and all the other classics the Boys mentioned. Sadly I think he’s one of those guys that won’t get his flowers while he can smell em but don’t sleep, Ethan Hawke is that dude!

He’s so underrated, he’s at the level of Leo and Pitt in my eyes. He just does a lot of indie movies and big budget movies and is always great.

This interview worked. I'm going to start watching "The Good Lord Bird" show. I didn't realize James McBride was the writer. He's a Black man from Brooklyn who wrote "The Color of Water" which was a required read in lots of high schools. He also wrote the book for "Miracle at St.Anna".
Hearing The Brand chop it up with Ethan about the Knicks and giving Ewing his props was just beautiful. Had they been on set they would have got drinks and rambled on for hours. Brolic!

I've been watching TGLB, and I think it's an interesting take on John Brown. I'm a little confused about why the young man has to pretend to be a female all the way up to the third episode. I also was a little thrown off by the portrayal of Fredrick Douglas. But nevertheless, it's entertaining so I'll keep watching.
