My parish doesn't even have a priest any more. We have a visiting priest every weekend but there are so few priests in the diocese now that our "pastor" is a brother. I haven't been to confession since my divorce and now that I have FINALLY brought myself to a place where I am ready to consider this again, we haven't got a priest. Sad state of the church 😢
I promised Mary when I was 7 to pray the rosary every day. I forgot that as I grew up. But in 2019/2020 I found my way back to God. (Actually he allowed me to see him searching for me) It was actually some flowers red and white that I had never seen before and planted at my home that spring. Then I saw them hanging in pots outside my local church. And I saw a few of the Divine Mercy videos at that time as well.
The red and white.. the. Blood and Water, the videos they all drew me to the Priests home and I made confession for the 1st time in over 20 years. Slowly my return to the church progressed.
Then last year my 1st born son died Oct 15. I ran to the church and thanked God for the 21 years I had been given, for any other way of thinking would surely destroy me.
I give my sadness and pain up to God every day for the forgiveness of sins of whoever needs it most. For only God could turn such pain into something good, and he knows where it should be used.
After my son died, I would point to the immaculate Heart of Mary and the dagger and thorns and would say there! Look! that is what I feel. It's a stabbing pain in my heart like a dagger. I started pray every day God please let me lose myself and empty myself by way of the hole in my heart and by way of that wound fill me up with the Holy Spirit so I can be a vessel for Your will.
Then 4 months after he died we finally got the autopsy. One of the contributing factors was patent foramen ovale... A condition which is a hole in the heart. Christ, Mary, my son Hunter, and my own hearts all joined together.
I thank God for letting me know a small part of Mary's pain and suffering so I may help God. She is my role model I yearn to bring people to God with love as she does. I yearn to live making the world a better place for my son and hers.
God is real, Christ is real, the Holy Spirit, Mary, ALL OF IT. As is the spiritual war. But do not dispair, while we hold peace and Christ in our hearts we will always win by virtue of God.
I have returned to praying the rosary every day. And the chaplet of Divine Mercy Thank you God for our beautiful Blessed Virgin Mother who has lead me gently back to Christ by way of the Holy Spirit.
And thank you Lord for all the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception and the National Shrine of Divine Mercy and your Mercy which I know granted my son entry into heaven where I will embrace him again some day.

Grew up Catholic, worked in a Catholic University but never crave knowledge about this beautiful faith as I am feeling right now & never had a deep understanding of my faith.

Wow it’s so refreshing to read such a beautiful comment. I always loved being Catholic and was devout when I was young but got away from total devotion after I married my husband. Going through very difficult times brought me to my knees and face me the grace of thirst for knowledge and prayer. Now everything I read and watch almost is about our faith. Thank you for sharing your comment. I am very grateful to have read it along with others here. I wrote down my problems in a letter to Mary . so I did not know how to pray the way I wish too, and I put it in the book and left it alone,
basically gave it to God and months later life changing life-threatening situations was resolved.
I escaped a very abusive relationship in the middle of the night, and there’s no way the person should’ve not woken up with all the noise we made moving me out, but I escaped that was my blessed mother answering prayers I didn’t even know I had. Then years later I was blessed to become Catholic.
It all started with Mother Angelica who appeared on my tv everyday💕
I am going through this "33 days of Morning Glory" after I learnt of it through one of the talks from this channel. Thanks to Fr Chris. I m still learning how to do it, but hoping to recieve the graces for me and my family. We are broken with dad gone and my brothers (cradle Catholics) are not interested in any devotions or mass. Please help me pray for my family

Consecration to Mother Mary is truly a sacred and beautiful union that stays in our soul for always. Fr. Chris, thank you for doing everything to make us understand our role to be part of her life. I was consecrated to her at aged 13 with my enthusiastic Auntie who wants me to belong entirely to her in life and in death. Indeed, it helps me a lot specially in times of danger and temptation. Praying the Rosary daily strengthens my bond to her as mother and daughter relationship. God bless you Fr. Chris and my prayers accompany you always.

As my relationship with my father was not good so I wasn't into praying to a man God or not. I can't asy when it happened but now it's the other way round. I was not convinced of the place Mary can and wants to occupy beside us. You explained it so well, I even watched the other same talk you did on Marian Consécration in oct.’20 ! Tomorrow, on Assumption day, I will begin, now that I understand better !

Thank you Fr. Chris for this insightful reflection on Marian Consecration. I've done the Fatima consecration for almost 6 times now and it feels so great. I did the St. Louis de Montfort consecration early this year and now doing it the 2nd time. I am just reflecting on the book True Devotion to Mary and it is so inspiring. So many goosebump moments. Consecrating my heart to Mary is one of the most surreal experiences of my life.

They never speak about these consrections in our parish in india. They have forgotten about this now. But our parents used to teach about this. Now no priesrs available in confession these days
Amen. The one parish that has more confession times has such long lines that many have to walk away without being absolved. St John Vianney and St Padre Pio, who spent countless hours hearing sins, pray for us. Confession is the key to purifying the heart that Jesus may live there, and that will grow the Church 🙏

I feel terrible for the Church and how it may shrink and wither but be more true to Christ. Lord help me to stay in the shadow of the pews or columns, close to your tabernacle. I always want another daily eucharistic gift. I never want to lose that. I pray for all of us meekly for our souls to be saved.

I did the Consecration last year [2021]. I started on July 13 [Anniversary of 3rd Fatima Apparition] and finished on the Solemnity of the Assumption.

When you have a chance Can you please explain the difference between today’s mass and a mass of ordination. I know but it looks like there was some confusion in the chat.
Thank you Robert, this is correct. I think I mistakenly referred to ordination, which is the sacrament of Holy Orders within a mass, whereas this was a mass of final or perpetual vows. So we still have the ordination to look forward to. Sorry for the confusion.

Fr Chris I have a question I heard as a Christian. We are only expected to study the new testament. As the old testament was written for Jewish people and the new only came to life because of our Lord Jesus. Thank you Fr Alar God be with you and you mam and dad amen

Today at my cancer centre appointment my Mennonite nurse showed me pictures of her vacation to Switzerland. One was a beautiful river and she said,"my ancestors came from this area and in the 1800's the Catholics drowned a man there because he believed in adult baptism." I was speechless and since coming home I am disappointed that I didn't respond somehow. What should or could I have said?
