Hey Nick. I'm a ezgo golf car service technician. I got one golf car in for service said it wouldn't start. It had bad gas in it. I cleaned the carburetor drained all the gas out of it, put fresh gas in it. It was running perfect. Well they had it for about a week it came back same problem. Bad gas. Come to find out they were using gas out of cars at the junkyard.

I know what you mean about rough on machines. I had surgery on my legs a few years ago and unable to cut my lawns. A friend of a friend of my son who is a professional greenkeeper at a golf course said he would cut my lawns. I thought wow a pro cutting my lawns. You talk about being hard on machines. He broke the recoil starter twice, broke my strimmer, ran my qualcast over the edge of my front lawn, bent the bottom blade and the front roller spindle. Boy was I glad when I could walk again.

I feel for you Mick. I think with the limited space for the fuel line, i would put in a small gravity feed fuel filter with the paper element and if need be get rid of the shut off valve. Employees just dont care about the equipment they use! 👍🎥😉

I've come across it twice, with the 2nd time being the worst.
It's the repair that has the record for most times a machine has been returned to us (6 or 7 times if I remember correctly).
I couldn't get my head round it, with mine the fuel was being dumped in the bore and sump so the petrol was disappearing, with the oil level going up (very thin oil 😁).
I don't know where that shard of brass came from (the seat is made out of brass?) but I can say for definite, these engines can have needle and seat problems.
Nowadays whenever I see that problem, I use the carb overhaul kit that includes a new needle seat (part number 592172) and I give the tank a good clean.
By good clean, I don't mean a quick squirt and 10 second blowout with an airline, I mean take it off and clean/blow it out several times.
Briggs doesn't make a seat pulling tool but GHS/wartec do (part number 8589).
    Saves buying a new carb.
So far this has worked for me.

Talk about a really angry customer, I do mobile repair, so I go to their homes.
I was at this person's home 5 times in a period of 4 weeks, always the same problem, a lot of water in the gas, I'm talking 1/4 full of water, the guy couldnt figure it out, well I did his push mower, and his lawn tractor, he couldn't get his push mower to start, turned out the spark plug was still attached to the wire, but fell out of the block, thats close to impossible, so I let it go, and fixed it, now every trip is costing him 50 to 100 US dollars carburetor cleaning, and tank flush and fill, so long story short, I accused his son, who does the mowing, he got so angry at me accusing his son, so his son happens to walk out of the house, and his dad says have you been putting water in the gas, and the plug out of the mower, and he said yes.... His dad was besides himself, then he says to his dad, I hate mowing your lawn, so I've been sabotaging them, his dad said sorry to me, paid me, and I haven't been called back other then tune ups.... LMAO

Sorry to hear of the frustrations you are facing mate, keep your chin up, it’s not your fault, nor can you do any more than you are and I fully understand how it can start to feel like you’re doing something wrong, but rest assured, you’re not.
It comes in, you fix it. After that, it’s not your problem (unless of course you stuff up…) so far the issues have been out of your control, will a paper filter fit or is there not enough space?
On the plus side we get more content which is great!
Great to see the little legend that is Rileyboy yesterday in Ken’s live, his energy and excitement makes me smile every time haha.

I've found that the older sides belt Hayter Harriers are the most reliable.

  • @Herbybandit
    @Herbybandit 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That's a pro painted green, that should have heavy duty running gear and an industrial standard engine, made to work all day reliably but like you say, the employees are heavy-handed and careless things just don't stand a chance 😟 the owner should have a little think about his employees if their costing him money! But that's his look out.
On another point, Hayter front wheels! They're a bit soft if you ask me, IMO the tread wears out due to operators being lazy, your supposed to turn it round at the end of the run by transferring the weight onto the roller and raising the front wheels off the ground, the amount of times I've witnessed the front wheels being scuffed round on a path or whatever, that wears wheel treads out real fast!
