    I've just bought an Evo 8 in Australia and while I don't have infinite money I've started restoring the car doing a full interior strip, remove the rust, etch primer and coating, the works. All the plastics have been restored, I've done as much as I can with the limited amount of money I have and I love that this was coincidently around the time that I bought the car!

    You have no idea how appealing this kind of car is for one car owner type of people who can't justify a sports car as their daily. This thing turned out amazing and I'm all for more unique builds over the usual suspects. Will be interesting to see how it turns out with the auto.

      As a evo9 wagon owner I can tell you the car has so much character and the performance potenial is only limited by budget, but even with basic mods has more than enough pep to keep me happy ( intake, exhaust, inter cooler pipes and a 21psi tune)

    Flat ride isn't about side to side roll. Its about the front/back porpoising you get when you go over a bump. Typically 10-20% higher spring frequency in the rear.

    • @AnnexSuspensionGroup
      @AnnexSuspensionGroup 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, this is correct, we build in higher rear frequencies vs front to reduce porpoising!

    where we live here is hot and humid all year long, so having those wind/rain visor do sure helped when parked under the hot sun, opening the window just an inch to let the hot air out of the cabin after a long day baked.

    I highly recommend using a ceramic coating wipe (a trim restorer wipe, like from AMMO NYC) in order to breathe life into the black plastics and rubber trims that weren’t restored. I noticed the the mirror mount plates were faded, so I thought this would help.

    Window visors are a must IMO. Most cars if it's raining etc using the wipers with the driver window down at all & the water just comes right into the car & allot of the time it drips directly onto the control switches.

    Regarding the urethane what you have to do is leave the tip and cover it with something, like paper tape for example, then you push a little bit out. The bit out dries but everything inside will be fresh. The part out is usually pretty easy to remove.

    @TastyGnocchi 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    for the interior cutouts in the carpet, it would be possible, given the cuts be made symmetrical on both sides of the car, to 3D print removable covers to block these out. 3D prints can be made smooth using acetone vapors to looks a bit more OE (but inherently glossy)

    Love wagons and wish the States would sell them. But, just like their measurements and tipping culture, they just love to be different from the rest of the world. Curious as to why you didn't get center caps for the wheels. There are a variety of styles from Advan (flat to raised) and I know they have them because I run RGs on my R32.

    A couple methods for rear fenders instead of rolling that may be better:
    Try a hammer and dolly to roll the edge over slowly, wrap the dolly with a microfiber and use a hammer or hard mallet on the inside to roll the edge over
    Or
    Cut off wheel 75-90% of the lip then use the hammer and dolly or fender roller to fold the remaing bit, panel bond the backside and rocker guard the inside lip to seal everything up for near zero lip
