- This is my Love Letter to Legend of Dragoon. In this video i tried to remake the battle of Dart and Lloyd in the Hero Competition as well as the battle the Dragoons, Dart, Lavitz, Shana, Rose and Haschel had against Fruegel! Enjoy!

Melbu I definitely suggest you play it, it’s my second favorite jrpg after LoD and if you can look trough the differences from the predecessor and the doll-like artstyle of the characters (which I’ve seen criticised a bit over the internet but am absolutely fine with myself) you’ll experience a game with a great intricate story that will stick to you, even more so for the soundtrack! (I still listen to it today!). However I also red your response to my other comment and I just subscribed to the LoD subreddit yesterday so I’ll se you there! :)

Yooo the production quality has increased a hundredfold. Love the new style of retelling the story. The Characters look great, the recreated scenes are all well done. I cant wait to see fights like Lenus and Regole or Zeig and Melbu come to life with your videos

This is phenomenally well done. My only complaint is the dialogue boxes/text could use some size/font work, as it feels like an afterthought in terms of presentation. Maybe play around with that a bit, maybe even use the script overhaul from The Flying Zamboni. But other than that, this is amazing and gives new life to "The Legend of Dragoon."
Thank you kindly! :D Your feedback is great. Unfortunately i dont know how the mod of Zamboni will help me with the videos. Because that works in LoD, here it's Soul calibur Instead. Also those font and text box are all done later in the video editor i use. The font is just a standard one, while the blue background is just a filling background. I just cant modify it. The background will just be a bland blue background. Unlike the LoD text box. But i'll try to see if there is some things i can do. I thought you would complain about the first dialogues with haschel, where you can see the animations of characters looping. Unfortunately i couldnt edit that part anymore. In fact later dialogues are also imprevedibile compared to the first :) Either way thank you a lot! I'm super happy you are enjoying this.
My super fav waifu in that game was MERU cant wait to see her in your videos.

Gosh you not only re-made the story cut scenes, you made turn based fights (Lloyd v Dart). Helluva lot of work has been put into this and not enough recognition has been given! LOD will always be one of my fav RPGs till date, and I got chills just watching this video. Thank you for this.

Even though i'm replying 2 years later, i still appreciate your words! I remember spending so much time on this video. Saving all the different Soul Calibur animations with the green screen to fake the cutscenes and stuff. Good times. :)

I'm also always excited when new LoD content is uploaded or when i find a new fan of the game! :) I loved it a lot and it holds a special place in my heart. This game is my favourite game ever and if it was a public domain game, i'd already remake it! :D But that's Sony's business. Only they can remake it. Let's hope it will happen one day. :)

Because i have a couple more videos of Sekiro i would like to do (nothing super edited, but some may like them), and i still have some games to play and mods to showcase. For example i wanted to play FF7 for the first time and make a video of it with mods installed.
BTW, if you have suggestions of other videos you'd like to see, feel free to tell me! If it's something i can do and i'd like to do, then yeah i will definitely do it. :)

First off, the idea to re-establish TLoD was kind of heartwarming and nostalgic
Second off, the way you edited the scenes in between were really funny to me :°)
And last but not least, the ending where Lavitz transforms into his Dragoon form to safe King Albert, killed me. It's exactly how remember it :'D

@@melbu6311 I mean I like everyone, but if I had to choose, I would pick Haschel, Meru and Kongol.
You did an absolutely amazing job on Rose, she looks exactly like the cinematics, as far as I can remember.
The dragoon forms as well, they were all really convincing.
I think the only thing I didn't like as much was the chestpiece that Lavitz wears, but ,then again, I have no idea what the limitations are in SC.

@@Eddy12501 Oh about that chestpiece :( if i could i would definitely make it less bulky, but unfortunately you can't edit its shape. So you get that bulky armor, which unfortunately it's the only one that looks like what Lavitz whore. Yes Rose turned out quite well, i'm really happy about her. Other characters that turned out amazingly well are Meru and Dragoon Meru, Dragoon Kongol, Lenus and Dragoon Lenus, Doel and Dragoon Doel and definitely Dragoon Miranda. Oh also Divine Dragoon Dart :D Also, Meru is my favourite! :D

Just now discovered this. THis is amazing! Really well-done job! Is this going to be like a total remaster of the game with these fighting mechanics?
That was originally the idea i had. I wanted to make all the major fights and scenes.
Unfortunately at that time i got extremely busy with life (job and life hassle) and i just lost the spirit within me to sit down and work on it. That's me being brutally honest.
I even wanted, after LoD, to do the same thing with other JRPGs like Chrono Cross, Shadow Hearts etc. But yeah, all that won't happen. I'm sorry.

Though i also want to upload other games that i'll play, so these types of "remake videos" won't be released on a weekly basis. But you also won't need to wait 4-6 months or more for a new LoD video. :)

Thanks a lot! This video was indeed a lot of headache. After This My passion and interest in doing videos dramatically decreased, also because im unemployed and thus my mind in occupied by other things rather than videos. :( Otherwise i would have continued this. :) Lets hope for a remake anyway. Hopefully we can get it this gen.

Love those retro JRPG style dialogue scenes with the original lines from the game, in all its cheesy and awkwardly translated glory lol.
Once again you did a great work with the new character models (specially Lloyd's attires, which are almost identical to the originals). My only complaint is that I always imagined Fruegel with more brutish, "orc-like" features, but I guess that the character creator didn't allow you to customize him like that (but you got him a very spot-on armor and helmet nonetheless).
I'm looking forward to watching more of these. Maybe you could make also a retelling of the main fights from Disc 2 (that of the gang of Haschel's former student and all those of Lenus).

As for Fruegel, he's a human, we can tell that. Maybe even a Giganto. There's a couple of pictures on Google when you can carefully take a look at his face and he has a face with a constant smile texture (with visable teeth) and you can tell he is a human because of his teeth, that aren't like an orc. Still, yes i could have made Fruegel an Orc, because in SCVI you can choose the race and there's an Orc race. I don't know if you can change skin color for the Orc race though. Either way, i didn't make that, because as i said, from the pictures it was clear to me that he was a human. :)
For the next video i plan to stay on Serdio for the first part of the video, and then onward to Tiberoa. I think i will skip both Mappi and Genrich because it could drag the video a bit too much. But we'll see. ;)
For now i'll take a break from these type of videos, and clean up all the files and mess this video left on my PC. lol

@@melbu6311 yeah I wish she had additions in the real game, maybe something like what the archery guy from the Hero competition had. You have to "aim" and each additional X press would do more damage.
@@xxenchanteddemonxx5222 Yeah that is something i thought as well. It would have been so damn cool for her to have something like that. :) Instead about Miranda, i'd give her proper additions. I'd make her move around and shoot arrows much like Legolas from Lords of the Rings, allowing for some nice additions. Maybe only 2 additions, since she's a late character, or 3 like Kongol. :) It would make Shana and Miranda both different from each other and unique. :)

Thank you a lot! :) I'd love to continue this, but the thing is that the last time i turned on the PS4 was after finishing DMC 5 and the last time i turned on my PC for gaming was 3 months ago when i made the Sekiro video. I would love to continue but it mainly depends on inspiration and free time. Also recently i returned to drawing because i wanted to retrain myself into it, because in the future i want to buy a drawing tablet. TH-cam videos don't bring me nothing and are really time consuming, so i thought about trying drawing to make (in the future when i'll buy the tablet) more particular videos (in the slight chance of getting more success with youtube lol).

Nothing else. Just soul calibur and a video editing program like so many. I also had a lot of patience back then lol. Now? Not so much lol. Simply i stopped doing yt videos because i lost interest and patience. We'll see what the future holds.

If only! :) Though i'd like better graphics than Soul Calibur 6 honestly. :) I'd like Sony to go full AAA for a remake of Legend of Dragoon, just like what Capcom did with Resident Evil 2. :)
For the quality of graphics, honestly even God of War 2018 graphics would be fantastic for me! But it would be even more awesome if Legend of Dragoon got The Last of Us 2 levels of graphics, animations and facial animations! :D
Either way i believe we'll eventually get our remake! :) In the meanwhile we should share every piece of fan works (being fanarts or these kind of videos) on twitter, so that more people maybe see them and maybe even people at Sony, like Yoshida or Shawn Layden. That's something we should do to grab their attention. :)
