So beautiful, those layered saxes. And then the thrill when they switched to an up tempo rhythm half way thru, then an amazing solo and finally all finish with an Amen.
With his insistent little figure Hamiet Bluiett seems to be conjuring up David Murray's impressive solo performance; ir also made me think of Duke's suite _The River._ A stream of great music and memories, may it never end! Thank you, JVG, for the WSQ!
Time is so perfect… and intonation! They are all so relax.. Love the baritone’s line… Jazz players need to play without a drummer more often and do this format more often… :)
Very cool performance by these saxophone masters. Unfortunately I've never seen the WSQ live although I saw David Murray a few years ago. I also saw Oliver Lake once over 20 years ago with an impressive group called "Trio Three" with Reggie Workman & Andrew Cyrille.
Thank you so much. I know this is about the World Saxophone Quartet but when I first heard the Art Ensemble of Chicago in 1979 it literally changed the way i heard and viewed everything. Is David Murray doing a podcast these days?

A great group that most people don't know.

@@KarinaColis Wait a minute! Let's not put the drummers out of work.
@@JazzVideoGuy ok 😂👌
Wonderful !!!
Glad you like it!
You are on fire! Looking forward...
Thanks.
Saw them live at the Atlanta Jazz Festival about that time -was a great night as Sonny Rollins was also on the bill!
Wow, what a concert that must have been.
@@JazzVideoGuy as I remember -the other option that night was the then 88 year old Benny Carter and a big band!
Tough decision!
I used to play Love Like Sisters for my daughters. Drove them crazy !!😅
ha!
Listening to this motivated me to check out some my old David Murray CD's. Thank you
Love the recording Mr. Murray did with Pharoah Sanders and McCoy Tyner.
Saw these guys in the 80's. Great energy and intensity.
For sure
Thank you 😎
No problem 👍
