I truly worShip your dinghyskills and your videos you should all come to Denmark and relaunch some dinghy nostalgia we have great waters here so you can plan your winterholliday already. Thank you for posting and fair winds down under
Wow I would love to come to Denmark,.Yes you do have some beautiful sailing destinations there. Please send me a photo of your boat so I can share, thanks for watching, cheers Paul sailingkatelouise@gmail.com
I watched Josh's vid the other day, but just as I was commenting on it it came up as unobtainable, saying it had been withdrawn. Trim looks really nice, and his first tarp ten looked good too. Loved the sangfroid attitude ( We're in the middle of a rescue.... a spot of bacon then... ) lol. Putting in at various locations and meeting up made for an interesting raid, I thought. Loved the outro music especially, The bird calls in the early morning mists sounded otherworldly.
Thanks Dale for feed-back, I try and make them a bit different from other sailing videos and let the pictures show why we love sailing. I will ask Josh what happened with his video, thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
Hi Dale, I had an audio glitch in the video, so I withdrew it, fixed it and republished. The Meet Trim video is available again at Dinghy Cruising Kingfisher. Cheers Josh
Another delightful adventure. Some interesting swells on the first/day and a little chop on day two. Interesting “rescue”, but no major troubles! Thanks for sharing!
Hi but it is reassuring that channel 16 monitoring works over great distances, where as normal Vhf channel coverage is not that far. Thanks for watching again, cheers Paul
Another brilliant video Paul. Love the opening animation and your textural detail shots. Glad I was able to provide some ‘entertainment’ on this trip, till we sail again. Josh
That was another great and peaceful journey my friend. I appreciate how you are all humble and kind gentlemen without some of the pretention found in some sailing groups. George Bush forgot his sand wedge and you forgot your sauce, oh the "Irony." 😂 Thanks for another memorable sail along.......... ⛵
Thanks Paul. Was at Umina Beach the other day. A very long time since I sailed out to Lion Island on a 26 fter. Early 90s maybe. I was pleased for your mate that the ‘rescue’ was more of a tow. As usual, a really nice pleasant video which I appreciated mate. Could be as close to a sail I’m going to get for a while.
Thanks Col , we think Josh' shear pin got knocked out by all the rubbish in the water and luckily the water police towed with no charge. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
thanks for another great video!! got my weekenders hull glassed. finishing steps comming together!! cant wait to be on this great earths waters in a sailing dinghy!
What an interesting trip it had a bit of everything. Great video as always Paul loved the music towards the end fitted in perfectly. Glad to see you out on the water.
Thanks Steve I hope your trip is going well. It looks like the rain in Sydney has eased a bit. Another Myall Raid planned for May 2 if you are back by then, cheers Paul
Thanks for another beautifully produced video. I particularly liked the inclusion of bits of footage of the pretty Kate Louise underway, presumably taken by some of the other raid participants.
Thanks Matt good to meet you, I'm going to to the Myall raid on May 2 and there will be 7 boats so far, 4 from Queensland....come and join us, cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise Hi paul. Im going to be in japan for the next 3 months so wont be able to make it. But will definetley look out for future trips and look forward to watching your next trip. Cheers Matt
I was surprised at the size of the swell when you were heading out to Lion Island; makes life a bit more exciting. Great video as usual; thanks for the upload Paul. (Best way to start my day; nice cup of green tea and a new vid from Kate Louise; smashing:)
Thanks mate for those kind words. Yes the swell is normally about 2 meters at the entrance to Pittwater as it's relatively shallow there and that's where the water from Pittwater and the Hawkesbury meet along with the tide. So it can get a bit exciting even though it was very brown. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Just Fyi dont rely on a Mercury. Outboards are a safety issue. Loving your videos. You e converted me from keelers. Considering a half finished Gollant gaffer..Love the lines. Apart from the boating disease. I have the varnish rash appearing ....again...
Yet another interesting adventure.. As for Marine Rescue, I would have thought they were for life threating situations, and not a "tow truck" service"?
Hi Gregory, yes that's true, that's why they ask for a $500 donation as a deterrent, but as Marine rescue weren't available they contacted the water Police and I presume they are not allowed to charge a fee, thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Thanks for posting Paul I don't mean to sound redundant but it Bates saying some people shot nice videos but you eye for natural art speaks volumes. I don't say this lightly but you might see if there is a market for your work
Must be a hole lot of fun sailing and camping in a group. I live in a remote area and has no one to sail with, so I am always going solo. Sharing adventures must be nice 🙂 Thank you for another great video from you (I just came home from the first longer one day trip with my boat this year. It was quite cold, but a nice trip... Best regards from a Carina 20 in Denmark
I am planning to go weekendsailing like you do in 2022. So I might make a youtube channel for my little boat "Pusling" (meaning "Tiny Thing") and drop the page I'm having right now. A facebookpage did not work out the way I thought! First I must find a program for editing videos and learn to do it. I know the basics: th-cam.com/video/Yls-_cy02LI/w-d-xo.html
Thanks Gary, yes I love birdsong as well as you might have guessed. There was a very loud Crow and I'm not sure what the other birds were. Thanks for watching again and I hope it's getting warmer there soon, cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise Yes, shear pin was my first thought. I had that on my Torqeedo, the one time I needed it to get me out of trouble. Lots of revs at the motor, and the prop barely turning. It had clonked on the lake bed during the trouble I was trying to get out of!
It must be exiting to sail like Dave with his back in the direktion he sails. Maybe to se new exiting places? 🤣 Never knows where he is ending 😜😜 Love from Denmark
Hi Bent ye I'm a bit mystified why he sails backwards. I think it's because it's a small boat and he is trying to keep his weight in the middle if the wind is light. But he won't have that problem with hi new Cheery 16, thanks again cheers Paul
What was the white boat, not the Navigator the other white boat? Also to the Navigator owner, it pays to carry a cheap watersnake electric motor, I've got a little 34 lb thrust and it's been a real winner, very handy and actually performs way better than I thought it would. For the Navigator I'd go a larger one, those also have the 3 blade prop instead of mine which is 2. it definitely would've got you home 6 clicks. My snake was only $199 new, bargain back up I reckon
Hi yep that electric outboard sounds good, I've got a Torqueedo but as an older model there is no gauge for remaining capacity . The other boat was a Hartley 14 without the cabin, which Len built a year ago. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul

Enjoyed your skillful sailing and videography, as usual, replete with that nail-biting excitement of Josh's rescue. By the way, do you use Windy for your wind forecasts? Cheers, as always, and fair winds from Japan.
Hi Mike , yes I use windy and Willy Weather, though willy weather gives wind and gusts, where as windy just gives average wind. There is anothe app called predict wind but I haven't used that one yet. Thanks for watching as always, cheers Paul
