@@blaze556922 Its a very common thing for people to say “ take my upvote and leave “ and I thought people would be able to sense the parallel and know what was going on.
I was shocked not to see Karmic Guide on this list. I guess being a very common and powerful combo piece in Commander doesn't translate well to the competitive side.
So much of this list is pure nostalgia for me, since Tempest and Urza’s Blocks were when I was originally into MTG. Kastle worked at a shop a few towns over and signed my avalanche riders, IIRC.
It's interesting to think that echo changed from repaying the mana cost to unique costs, occasionally. I know there are the two rare cases where you do something different than paying mana in future sight, but it's cool to see mechanics in the game change
Avalanche Riders is one of my favorite cards of all time as I was another person who started playing for real during Urza's Block (I'd had cards before that, but didn't know anyone who played).
i have fond memories of playing bone shredder in my Shirei EDH deck. The echo was upside because would come back every turn with Shirei and you could keep killing creatures with it.
I started playing during Ice Age but didn't have my own money until the Urza's block. So you'd better believe that I went "gung ho" and blew my paycheck on Weatherlight and beyond sets. In fact, I rechecked my old cards and I have 2 Grim Monoliths! (Worth about ~$200 each) Along with a FOIL ACADEMY RECTOR (Worth about ~$600ish) that I pulled from an from Urza's Destiny booster that I bought at the mall while hanging out! 🤑🤑🤑
This one was fun, the only one I could think of off the top of my head was Mogg War Marshall, it’s fun when the lists have goofy old stuff like EXTRUDER.
Also started playing at Urza block, played a preconstructed Worship-Pestilence deck with the addition of 1 ring of gix just because i loved tapping down stuff :)
I loved the Echo creatures from Urza block - Pouncing Jaguar, Avalanche Riders, Bone Shredder and Ghitu ... Slinger? I had a fair bit of fun with my red/black recursion deck with avalanche riders, pillage and stone rain (yes, I can be THAT sort of player >:D )
That number 5 made me wonder if it said put two cards on the bottom of your library in random order how that would be done. I think no matter what you did you could keep track of which was which in your head when it’s only two cards you’re trying to shuffle. Maybe flip a coin?
@@Reliquancy You can check videos from pro tournaments when they have to discard st random. They "shuffle" the cards then present them face down for the opponent to choose. And by shuffling I meant flicking them few times so the oppo doesn't know which is which.
Wingspan one of the best boardgames of the past few years for sure. Do you have the expansions? I've got both, but not had a chance to play in person board games since, y'know, The World This Last Year. Looking forward to trying it out.
Is ingeresting that champions know how to design cards that are powerful yet not so much that they become banned. That's the mark of someone who truly understands the game
I don't think there was enough Squirrel support at the time it came out. They got more love in Odyssey block, but may have been too late to make a splash.
I love these top ten, but you should read the card too, I only listen these videos while doing other things and I don't have an enciclopedic knowledge of all the card to know what they do just of the name
On number 3: At the time, damage went on the stack too, so you could use it against an X/4.
Crater Hellion does have superb art. I want to know more about those horrifying, magma-proof creatures.
They are basically lampreys that live on land. Landpreys, if you will lol
@@blaze556922 No.
@@blaze556922 Take my like and pretend that didn’t make me laugh

Am I the only person who thinks it would be funny if he posted this video twice?
Maybe he already has, but didn't pay the echo cost and it automatically got deleted.
I was shocked not to see Karmic Guide on this list. I guess being a very common and powerful combo piece in Commander doesn't translate well to the competitive side.
Same. I expected to see the guide here too
It did see competitive play for a while. I guess not long enough to make the list though
It ruled modern for awhile

Oh easy, avalanche riders
Edit:
Yeah, turns out a creature you can tool box to blow up lands is stupid
I would have said bone shredder, karmic guide or even hellion, but turns out you were right!
@@scettico... Land destruction that is strong is crippling. No need to worry about what your opponent wants to play if they can't play it.
Yeah I mean it’s been played since 199-2000 and so on lol
beautiful hours to post... and fun fact: craterhoof behemoth, 247 2/2s, and 11 1/1s has a TOTAL attack damage of 69420
I calculate 67591 with those numbers. 259 total creatures. (1*264)+(247*261)+(11*260)

Avalanche Riders was played in the year 199? Damn, that's an old card!
I know, right?
This seemed like a mechanic that would be weak when it came out, and it was. I feel like there’s a lot of design space for it now though.
Echo has Meren, Muldrotha, and Colfenor the last Yew for generals. All 3 can turn echo into reusable upside
Also started playing at Urza block, played a preconstructed Worship-Pestilence deck with the addition of 1 ring of gix just because i loved tapping down stuff :)
My first ever foil I ever owned was a foil Pouncing Jaguar I got from a pre-release. I love that card.
Echo hey? I guess in that case, YOU SHOULD DO "TOP 10 VINTAGE CARDS (MINUS POWER 9) INE...INE ..INE..."!
9:14 that dude has an awesome name. Darwin Castle. Damn.
props to avalanche riders for beating the next highest card in range of play by over 1770 years despite its relatively low score!
Avalanche Raiders was the first ever magic card ❤
Man, that Bone Shredder art. Ron Spencer, you rule!
these little splashes of personal anecdotes are perfect! Love it!
Glad you like them!
2:02 Skipperino the Interoerino
Oh, you mentioned them in this one, it would be cool to see a deck history on reanimator decks
Oh, the nostalgia! I wish they reprinted Urza's block.

Monday top 10 may take a while to get used to, but kudos to more content and more quality content to look forward to.

Show them face down to your opponent and let him decide.

how did karmic guide not make this?
I love Avalanche Riders, it's a pet card and I will jam it even if it doesn't really work because toasting my opponent's land feels that good.
No Karmic Guide or Deranged Hermit? Really?
I suppose neither of these have seen enough competitive play to appear hear
Shredder and avalanche riders are honestly some of my favorite creatures in general
I want to see more helions in the game
I’m surprised the Hermit wasn’t part of this List.
Aaaw my fave not made it. Deranged Hermit, at least the squirrels love him
Are you going to be a limited review of Modern Horizons 2 before pre release events?
Good old riders, wish there was more ba destruction cards

I like the new schedule :)
Was Karmic Guide anywhere on there? I always thought it was a cool card, but I never played it myself.
Love Wingspan.
Could you make a video of the top ten cards with at least two keywords that are not evergreen?
I'm shocked that deranged Hermit isn't on here
Is ingeresting that champions know how to design cards that are powerful yet not so much that they become banned.

Someone should comment the entire video word for word as an echo
Deranged hermit doesn't have any points ?????
I don't think there was enough Squirrel support at the time it came out. They got more love in Odyssey block, but may have been too late to make a splash.
@@nigh_anxiety it was in the og rock deck. It has a few points at least
Huzzah!!!
Ok I'll guess Deranged Hermit
Monday!?
Hermit Druid ist the nicest echo card ever. Just saying...
Sweet
Echo should be evergreen, it is a really nice tool for balancing cards.
Oh! 😂
No offense to you Nizzahon, but you forgot a 9 at the end of the first number for 9:12 and instead it says 199-2000.
Seems legit, we have been playingg magic for 1800 years :)
At the least

Probably because (insert card here) wasn't on the list.
YEARS WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS HOPING FOR THAT RAT TOP 10 :(
