Just keep at it, in time you will have the knowledge and that will translate to tools and supplies as people pay you to fix their gear. You are on the right track watching videos like this, I have learned everything I know from watching other people work. We are really lucky to have channels like 12voltvids to take the time and film and explain what they are doing.
Panasonic have long ago stopped manufacturing replacement boards for some time for there plasma sets. it a shame and i myself had to search for a sd board ( P/n TNPA5337 ) for a Th-p50ut30A ( the A stands for Australia ) and had one sent out from the good ol USA. Hopefully it will arrive in the next couple of days and another set is saved from landfill . A great video. Thank you fr posting !!
@@12voltvids yes I also love the picture of a plasma, better blacks unlike LCD that have a delay of around 7m/s to turn off. At the moment I have around 7 x 42" sets and 1 x50" plasma. All Panasonic. All of these sets with a little bit of work and diagnostic skills and more sets saved from land fill. Funny how people will throw away good equipment and buy new stuff , just because the can get up to 60 months interest free credit from the big retailers. I think that plasma has gone down the same party as did the beta format, I also love the picture from a beta machine as the lemonade band width was wider and gave a overall better picture than vhs. Keep up the good work.
@@stephengorin3059 I have Panasonic lg and Samsung plasma. 1x 42 sd, Panasonic. 1x 720 lg. 2x Panasonic 1080p 1x46" 1080p, 1 x 50" 1080 Panasonic 1 samsung 51" 720 and a samsung 63" samsung.
thank you for publising this, even though it wont get fixed, the diagnostics was worth the watch, i got a 50' plasma im working on at the moment with 10 blink and its looking like its the A board as well, see how we go
I have a 50 inch Panasonic plasma tv,but no power turns out its the standby controller ic on the power board at fault. the tv is worth fixing as these old Panasonic plasma tv's are amazing as they have brilliant picture quality, contrast and are reliable.
I've owned a few Panasonic plasmas. Love them. My understanding is some of these issues were caused by a flaw in design regarding the screws used to mount the all the boards.
@@12voltvids I love my Panasonic plasmas. As compared to all of this new garbage made by LG, Samsung, Video, etc, a couple dozen screws that need changing doesn't bother me one bit.
Better off throwing it in the recycling when you get a 10 blink code. The "A" board is hard to diagnose. I have heard of corrupted eeproms and shorted hdmi (Sony) chips. It's a crap shoot getting a good board off of fleabay. The third time was a charm before I finally got a good one and it fixed my 58" plasma. It was worth it in the end. I was ready to give up on it so I gave it one last try. Now I have a beautiful center piece in my basement.
I never understood why people throw away bases just because they walmount it. There's tons of people trying to sell their old LCDs on Facebook. And I laugh because not everyone wants to walmount their TVS.
Looks like an old TV , same age as my familys . I am suprized theres is still working in a very worm room . How much HEAT can they take ? the fire is always on , even in the Summer .

You do great work. I’m 16 and I only wish I had your repair/electronics knowledge and the tons of supplies you have

Sure was. Covered that about 3 years ago. Video to that fault is linked in here in the comments. New screws with lock washers to prevent the failure.

Wow, I'm amazed how much more complex a Plasma TV is inside as apposed to the inside of a LCD/LED TV
Why did you short the capacitor to chassis ground instead of itself to discharge it? 3:41
Ground is ground.

Do all tv's have fans in them?(excluding CRT) I never took an LED tv apart yet. Or is is just Plasmas?
Mark Markofkane mostly Panasonic plasma come with fans
Where can I order TXN/A1MXUMP42, please
No idea
For the missing stand problem...get one of those universal stands that uses the wall mounts holes in the back...
There's a hack of a lot of heatsinks in this thing.
There is a lot of power flowing through those boards.

People throwing away the base of a flat screen TV is like people throwing away the install CDs for a computer. Really dumb.
Many do it, and it pisses me off every time I get one with no base to set it on.
Except that you can’t download a new TV base from the internet.
It's a shame that people who throw away vintage stereo equipment and
flat screen televisions.
It also ticks me off
when it's brand new.
It's like throwing an
expensive steak dinner away.

One day your hands will open a MicroLED.
Probably not.
