And I am expecting one in red to arrive in Wales for me any day. Ali Bow are truly great value for cash and make lovely bows. Excellent review Armin, thanks
there is no one on the planet that does such a complete review of a bow. I can sure tell when you like a bow. (big smiles) keep these wonderful videos coming.
Your very welcome Armin. And thank you for the thumb ring lesson instructions. I am just starting out on a different non dominant eye side, so everything is new and fun to explore a new path. Finally found a Roland Snake here and got it quieted down, arrows tuned, a glove with a stiff thumb instead of alibow ring which they said is coming. Learning to aim "through the bow" and establishing a form in the last few weeks. Shoulder down and arm up is good. And keep the draw arm/elbow up and in line is by modelling your example; today i used the Jeff Kavanaugh verticle string method and just tried to get a nice easy rhythm going instead of over concentrating on every shot--now i'm remembering my early Kendo lessons and how to help beginners move along-- what to focuss on and what to not worry about...Thank you for your help and glad to see you are commencing lessons again!
That's a long draw beast just getting used to 33 with my si Cai maybe something like that next. Those long bows are quite fast I'm impressed. And another shallow hook thumb ring very nice. I think more and more people are starting to use your lock method. At this moment in time I designed another ring for single hook it is working well. Thanks for another great review. We really do appreciate all you do Armin. Shoot well my friend!
Armin, since I found your videos, my Asiatic bow experience really began. Before, I used compound as well as primitive home-made yew selfbows. All this time, I've been absorbing as much info as I can from you and others, and saving my money. Today finally pulled the trigger, bought a Tang Dunhuang, my first Chinese bow. Along with a dozen matched arrows and an antler thumb ring. Your video was a key factor in my decision. Thanks very much!
I have this bow (long, nearly same weight as reviewed)and every day I use it I love it more. highly recommend for those of us who need that long draw- not a lot of options at 35" for us tall and long limbed but this one delivers. one thing is finding 36" arrows- Alibow has some, and I just ordered some wood shafts from Kevin at Forrester. you may have it but if you have time some reviews and sources of arrows- i'd love that.
I wanna this bow! I love Asian archery! Yours videos are the best. Sorry if I wrong write, because I don't speak English. I from Brazil, but the language is not problem. I'm learning with your videos. Thank you very much.
Hi Armin: By far my most favorite review! If i were Alibow, i would be rewarding you somehow for the fine work you do. Apparently you are famous now in archery circles, you just need to write a book. In Kendo, the student models the sensei. You, sir, keep giving us extraordinary examples of superb, clean lined, Gao Ying- esk form, and i really appreciate it as a beginner on a new side, which is starting over, like Gao Ying did, so many thanks. Got my Dunhuang today and it performs beautifully as expected. Something beautiful to go with my orang-utan arms, haha. I was won over to order this one by Armin's chuckle at 3:18 with the first draw and the easy it goes to 35 inches max draw. Also that scene alone is worth rewatching the video every now and then. :)
I ever had this bow, about oct -nov last year,,,i used this about two half months,,,and then it was break near the handle,,, But this bow is accurate,,, Now i have the new one shorter...
Armin Hirmer I have a question for you. I want to learn how to shoot with thumb, and I've become fascinated with horse bows and middle eastern bows. I have done a lot of research and at first I was searching for one but then I came across a massive amount of reports of horse bows breaking if they are 55 lbs or above because they are thinner bows then longbow or recurve and can't take that stress. I want to be able to hunt large game with this next bow I get so I need at least 55 lb. In your experience is this true about the horse bows being fragile if they are heavy draw weight? I read that the traditional horse bows through history were 45 lb or less. Is that true also?
@@ArminHirmer thank you for your quick response and you great videos. I appreciate you for what you do. If you were me, and you lived in America where it is difficult to find eastern bows, and you wanted to hunt, what would you look for and where would you look?
@@bryanr.4947 hey thanks man. I appreciate the info. I have the 3 rivers spine chart. It's pretty good but I'm going to check out the one you suggested also. Trad bows are very technical when building the perfect arrow. It can be an amazing, or awful experience. I've had both lol.
Awesome review. I ordered a Chang An bow from them but it’s been almost two months now and they still haven’t provided me with a working tracking number and have since stopped responding to my emails 😫
Creepy laugh😂, superb review! Maybe, we as your viewers can buy dome of the bows as a group😉, as all these beautiful bows are getting really expensive 😭😅
Armin Hirmer thanks for the quick reply, I have the dunhuang and it is a fantastic bow. I was looking into getting the kheshig and seen your videos on that bow and kinda made me want it more LoL your videos have been fun to watch and so educational, I’ve learned so much from your videos. Thank you!!!!!
You know you're about to see something special when the video starts with Armin chuckling like that 😁
Thank you for presenting. Sometimes just hearing your voice is a relief.
Thx Andy for the nice time on the range! @MaltaArchery
What a chill place to be! Thank you so much! Greets, Joris

Now i have the new one shorter...
Kind of worrying, take it you were covered by warranty
Unreal review.
Havent had a decent chance to sling in ages.
You have Me Psyched to do so, Beauty Armi.
I got mine, very happy
yes this is how a bow should look like
The shape of this looks quite different to the one in the first review you did of this bow. The siyahs look shorter now..?
Absolutely Lovely!! always enjoy your reviews!
Seems to be hard to find arrows over 33 inches long, Seems like that would be a really cool bow especially for shooting long arrows
Good speed.
Good video love the knowledge,🇺🇸👍
That intro made me chuckle as well :D.
Can you tell me how tall are you, Armin? For reference when it comes to dimensions.
1.80m roughly
@@ArminHirmer Thank you. This gives me a visual perspective for draw length and bow size.
I just ordered a Ming emporer 3 , but it's gonna get some bl8ng bling added, can't wait
Any chance to see a review of the takedown version?
I hope so
What is f value & how do you apply this to archery?
Awesome Bow!! Extreme Long.😅 Great Review Mr. Armin Thanks. Cheers!✌😀
Between khesigh & tang dun huang regular (both use 1.38m string length). Which one you choose?
kheshig
My Mongolian bow is called a snake bow, 45 pounds,🇺🇸👍

asiatic bows can go up to onehundred pounds and they last. what I know from reading is that warbows always had way more # then forty five

Hi armin, do you think the Dunhuang is louder / has more vibration than the Xuanwu? These things ar not easy to hear on a video...Thanks as always!
Hi. If then just a little bit. Nothing to be worried.

Strong Madonna!
Can u make review the defferent of khesigh, ming emperor 3, loulan dan dunhuang 😁
I see what I can do
Hi Armin. Did you shoot that review in candlelight? ;-)
Did it look like?
@@ArminHirmer Yes, very under-exposed and darkish, Armin. Great info, tho. ;-)
I pretty much want to buy every bow he reviews...help me.
What bow would you say you like more the kheshig or the dunhuang?
Kheshig

The thumb ring is just the same as the goa ying ring from custom thumb rings
We will see, I will have that one soon too :)
You are going to have that twang in a long bow that's light in poundage
Where do you get your shirt? In Indonesia we wear that to the mosque hahaha
In germany, the are for kitchen chefs and bar tenders
