Cool. I’ve been wanting to do this trip on a balsa raft, taking a slow float downriver during the dry season. I’d want to build the raft at Chontapunta and put in at the ferry launch there.
Hope i would be able to travel soon and this world situation will end soon. Now I m in the mountains doing 50 days hike for charity. I m filming my journey and it should be nice video when i come back home.
Yes every day i was shopping tunas de rio mare to eat at carlos "grocery" and i was joking at him "you takes us all our money here,you are the richest person in pueblito".And 5 days without electricity no shower no water at all.
It was my second time to the amazon, be sure you can do it and South America its so big to discover new places. Ive seen you are from Croatia balkan like me , iam from greece . Saludos!!!
I am in the early stages of planning a trip like this. I want to go from Coca to Manaus, but I am a little troubled with the border crossings. Is it easy to cross if you are solo? And is it easy to book tours in the jungle on the spot, like in Yasuni National Park...
I didn't plan anything ahead of time. From Coca you go to Iquitos, then from Iquitos you need to take another boat to go to boarder of Brazil, Colombia and Peru(known as tres fronteiras). Then from Tabatinga(Brazil) you take boat to Manaus. There is no strikt schedule for that boats..you will need to find it in the spot when you are there. Boarder is not hard to cross at all...actually you need to make sure you get stamps in immigration office yourself, because "normal" border doesn't exists on the river.
I just stamp my passport out of Ecuador day before my trip. There is no immigration..it's your responsibility to get stamps in your passport. If you don't do it you will still be in Ecuador on paper because it will look like you never left the country and it can cause problems if you ever come back.

U cesku sam se doselio radi zene koja je tamo isto dosla iz Rusije radi posla. Pa me uglavnom putevi vode u Rusiju. Inace za Vas program nisam znao nego Vas je preporucio gospodin Vedran Badjun. there is some passport check, but it is your own responsibility to go to office and check yourself in and out of the country
