They are very very energetic. If you lead an active lifestyle and are prepared to give them good exercise for at least an hour a day and have a decent backyard then it works. They also get bored easily because they are very smart so they need lots of things like puzzles. Also a good fence because they can jump high and will run away if bored or they feel like herding the cars that go by. They are a good watch dog not in that they are aggressive but they will bark at anything unusual. Also be aware if you have small children as they like to "herd" things. It is popular to mix the breed to make good family pets but they still need a considerable amount of exercise.
