    Ok, Godspeed Us To The Stars and Run The Code just BLEW ME AWAY. I listen to a lot of Synthwave, but so far only Megadrive, Perturbator, Dance With The Dead, Carpenter Brut and Power Glove sound to me totally unique and with their own amazing sound and songs. @@FixxxerZ7 I'll explain what I mean, for example, Perturbator - Welcome To Nocturne City that song started off VERY good, but in the middle of the song, it has vocals that don't fit the start. In no way am saying Perturbator is a bad artist far from it, but I think he has his issues compared to Brut and Megadrive. Another thing that irritated me a bit with Perturbator was the collab with Brut, Perturbator - "Complete Domination (feat. Carpenter Brut)" ["Dangerous Days" Official] I liked that song but it's underwhelming near the middle and end, again not saying it's bad. But Perturbator has his gems, all artists do but he's not my most liked.

  • @357MAGNUMSNIPER
    @357MAGNUMSNIPER 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I gotta say that after a few times listening through this album, I'm quite liking it.
    Many songs on this album sound like they have a lot more depth to them (no pun intended) than in earlier works, the hard-hitting songs are still real bangers like before (Godspeed Us To The Stars) and a good amount of melody is still retained like always, while preserving that distinguishable style in synths. I'm also glad to see he's continuing to produce more atmospheric imaginative stuff like In Dreams. In general I really like the otherworldly feel this whole album has, letting me sink into the depths of melodies the likes of Off/World all while trying to imagine what kind of world the music is trying to depict.
    Sure it's different, but it's not bad by any means, and I'm all for artists experimenting with new concepts and styles, because I for one wouldn't want to produce the exact same stuff for a multitude of years especially if it starts getting boring. Perturbator's Uncanny Valley is different from his earlier works and I have no doubt that Carpenter Brut's new 2018 album is also going to be somewhat different compared to Trilogy. Still looking forward to all future releases from these artists, Mega Drive included!

    im glad he's experimenting. there's only so many unique sounding songs mega drive can make with his kind of composition. obviously this isn't for everyone but i'd rather have something fresh over another 50min of NOT198XAD

    Mega Drive yet again delivers another solid album of synthwave goodness! It's a little different, which I can understand might upset some people, but overall you can't deny this is a great album! Well done sir!

    No joke, before I came here, I was listening to the beginning of Perturbator's album that starts with the quote from "Network", and I was thinking, one of these should start with that Call of Cuthulu quote...

    You know it's a phenomenal album when there's only a single song you don't like. The rest are fucking PERFECT. Each one world-builds in a unique way, (even Junkhead, the one I can't get 100% behind, but I don't HATE it). Seas of Infinity, to my personal tastes, is Mega Drive's magnum opus. The instruments used in this album are my favorite out of nearly all of them.

    whoa, that image is badassery. Imagine if Humans got so powerful and ego driven (lol) that they'd destroy all life on a planet and carve a human skull out of the planet as a sign of death and dominance to would-be foes. Using the very height of their technology to create a machine that distorts time and space, creating a wormhole passageway that enables them to cross distant galaxies in an instant, rather than thousands or millions of years in our time. Oh, yeah, the music is good too!
