What a great video and series Blair and the whole crew put together. I'm back onboard now, and we are preparing to depart for Antigua to begin our Caribbean season. All the crew are super excited to get down to the islands and start chartering again.
Thanks for watching and we'll see you next week. 🛥🥂
Bloody freaking legend have a good week cpt
Cheers cpt hoping to see you in st maarten
This was a really good series, and the watchability keeps going up. So, what does this mean with regard to the rotation of the crew. Is Nina back yet, or is she off till you're back in the med?
How was your break Captain Paul! Refreshed and ready for the next charter season? Ones things for sure Captain you certainly have a great team. Take care and good luck, hopefully the HP fuel pump on the other engine is good 👍
Chief Davey comes across as kinda a jerk. He doesn't seem to fit in or match with the great personalities from the rest of the crew.
HATS OFF to the engineering crew - unexpected issue but diagnosed the problem, notified the Captain and crew created a workable contingency plan. Cheers to safe passage you guys!
Well said
To be fair, I could have come up with "use the other engine" contingency plan... :-\
This level of thinking demonstrates exactly why you'd be no use in a similar situation@@zachansen8293
Thanks Loon Crew!
Finally a look at a very Pro Yacht Crew. World class production values, stories, of a very special career.
What about 20:45 standing right next to a line under tension amongst a snapback zone?
Awesome to see how the crew takes Paul's talking bits and narrates the video together! Great job crew!
They all did such a great job!
What a delight! I'm a grandmother about to enter my 85th year and remember at your age, in the 50's ,, All I could do was look forward to getting home to my boyfriend for the summer! (Can't remember his name now!) Next generation, my son had a gap year in Belgium grooming show horses and farming endive. Now my grandson is taking 2 months off from his emerging career to hike the Camino. It's something he missed during the pandemic, but his wonderful boss is making way for it now. So we should improve with each generation, and I can see that you people make me hopeful for our world and it's positive development. Thank you for this fun learning experience.!
Absolutely the finest crew manning the most beautiful vessel ( on the planet in MHO ) Thanks so much for sharing guys. Blair you ARE the master!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate your support. 🛥️🥂
I just want to chill on the pull-out pool I. The back. I could do just that for DAYS. Living vicariously 😢
I’m glad you made the crossing safely everybody!
Thank you its great to be back on dry land 🛥️🥂
Love to hear and see a real professional crew in action at work lots into in plus money thank you for this video 😊
Absolutely love this crew! What a great crossing... Now get on land and enjoy yourselves! Cheers Loon!
Its wonderful you made it to Florida with only one engine . Greatly done by everyone. Amazing crew.
Another great video: Good to see your all safe & well , all ways smiling regardless of the situation with loosing one engine, hopefully you’ll all be able to get a bit of R &. R ashore while the maintenance work is done I think you all deserve it after the crossing. As always stay safe have fun & will be looking forward to seeing you all in the next entertaining video from the MV Loon
The quality of these videos are so mesmerizing
Blair, your West Palm Beach shots are EPIC !!
Well done engineers for trying their best to resolve the problem on the engine and looking after the working one to ensure a safe arrival. Got to say well done to the deck crew doing all that sanding and varnishing too. Greg 🇬🇧
I'm just curious why they didn't steer for Bermuda to affect repairs when the port engine punked out ? Assuming both fuel pump assemblies are the same age and hours
the opposite engine could just have easily gone lame on them. I come from the airline world and 1 engine out on a twin engine is a no go situation.
Nice crossing crew of Loon. Thanks for taking us with you. Can’t wait to see your next episode.
Great videos, I crossed many times in the early 1980s on cruise ships as a doctor. You remind me of the good times!
Better than crossing a motor and losing an ocean
Or Viking yachts who beached their yacht when the fuel system refused to work
Good point.
❤
I can't believe the luck of having such good weather crossing the Atlantic. Crossings like this are rare and a return trip won't be this easy. On top of that, they need to rename the vessel "Lucky" because of the good weather crossing and no big mechanical issues. The potential for many problems would have been 12 ft swells and 40-45 kt winds on one engine. I could imagine a mess on the inside of anything not tied down because of rolling. Great video and thank God for such an easy crossing in spite of having one engine halfway across.
We usually cross in good weather. We wait for the window in Gib and adjust our course to drive around any storms in front of us. All the furniture on the interior is tied or bolted down, so if we encounter rougher weather, we are prepared.
I swear this videos are so incredible, interesting and entertaining...
Paige: "whoever told us it was two weeks lied"
Engineers: "...and we're adding another 3 days"
Paige: 'guess i'll have to re-shine the egg - cups'
Omg Alex actually gets his hands dirty, glad this rare phenomenon was caught on camera. Cheers for the great videos.
It's really interesting. Kind of why I don't get. But very glad that everyone made the crossing safely. I know all too well what crossing an ocean feels like. But the Pacific. Once headed to war. I bet the marine videos will be especially interesting. Thank goodness y'all got all of the BEAUTIFUL crew "home" safely. That was all that mattered. Cheers! Enjoy your beers! 🍺 🍻 🎊
Just a completely solid crew.
I have enjoyed the content of Loon so much and learning the hard-working crew of Loon. Would love a week aboard. I bet as the chief eluded to parts will be on board. Great video. Looking forward to the next installment of repair and maintenance of Loon.
What a crew and and professional information system
Loved all the crossing vlogs!
Thank you so much!😊
🙏🏻💙🕊❤️🕉
Wow I can’t believe how flat the seas are (even though I know they always look flatter than on the videos). Thanks Blair!
Great stuff. Happy to live vicariously thru these vids. 💪🏼
A great series guys. Just popped up by chance on my feed as a suggestion. We have been in Port Grimaud for the last two summers and have been fascinated by all the super yachts in St Tropez Bay. Very informative insight into living and working on a super yacht, and you all come across as lovely fun loving people with a great sense of humour and you work so hard to ensure your guests have a great time. Thanks for posting and we are binge watching your vlogs.
Blair another great Loony video. Great you had an amazing sail across from the Adriatic start point.
You did a great job videoing this passage and wow you did not loose a Drone. Capt Paul will be impressed. Enjoy your down time if you get any and looking forward to another adventure of THE LOON!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so invested in this series!!!!
Looks like we've got another die-hard fan! Welcome to the club.🛥️🥂
Loving this everyone,,,,, Take notice mainstream filmmakers 🎥
Really enjoyed watching this video.. absolutely epic crew and very informative. Hope you had a nice welcome break Captain Paul. The loon crew are amazing x
Great video with a fantastic insight!
Is it possible that you show us some day how takeoff and land your drone while underway?
Great idea! yes of course we can.. 🛥️🥂
I hope you're going to do a video on your time in the maintenance dock. It will be interesting to see the work being carried out.
Would love to cross ocean one day on yacht like this
I thoroughly enjoyed you cruising footage. Thank you
Great video Guys. Glad you arrived safely. Looking forward to the next one
It appears the crew get along quite well. At least when the camera is on:-)
“It’s not a map. It’s a chart.” 😂
Awsome video guys,Blair your getting better and better at doing them.Drones missing included.
I'm glad you're all okay!
Blair another fantastic job, geez your good buddy. Must be great to have a to crew, bit sad about the HP fuel pump 💲💲, MTU usually have ECU issues but the Engineers have have it all in hand. Take care crew and it appears that where your going there are also a heap of other Super Yachts as well. God Bless
We lost an engine crossing in a (tiny by comparison 😂) 42’ SeaRay Sundancer from Grand Bahama to Fort Lauderdale and hadn’t quite made the halfway point to any Florida port. Knowing we had to drag a prop we decided to turn around and go back to Lucaya. Good thing we did because having left with a full tank we arrived back in Lucaya on fumes. That dragging prop which did spin freely created a lot of drag, along with slower than optimal cruise speed. Turning around is definitely an option to seriously consider in the case of losing an engine. We would not have made it to Florida on our fuel so going back was definitely the right call.
I’m chief engineer. I loved these videos everyone. It not carrying a hp fuel up pump is criminal lol
thx guys enjoyed the series.
sux about the engine.
be safe
👍✅ great crossing series, tks Blair and crew!
Excellent content and presentation. Love this channel. 😊
more Captain Ben would have been good - the rest of the crew are great sports when it comes to filming!
Everything, SO WELL DONE, as usual, the highlight of my week catching up with this crew. I look forward to next week's video. Fair winds and following seas!!! I see you are still moored, when do you launch? Be safe and enjoy!
Great videos absolutely loved the series glad to know you had a safe passage.
👌
Whats up guys, those ladies seemed very bored cleaning the silver egg cups, they need entertaining. Those bruises looked nasty on the chefette's arm. Brilliant flat sea crossing, well done to whoever planned that. Well done for keeping the boat going also, I would have expected an engine loss would have been a lot worse than just 2-3 days delay. Another great video, well done. I love the South African accent, could listen and watch your videos all day.
Just love all the videos as I was a marine engineer for over 40 years it would have been more but I had a accident at work fell five feet on the small tug boat I was skipper on in 2009 witch ended up in 2012 having my left leg amputated that’s life ,I loved my job so that’s why I find this program so interesting especially anything to do with the engine so this video was the best so far for me ,hope you get the fuel pump you need and keep one in stock.just love you all great crossing most enjoyable, till the next one take care and keep safe,Joh. 🇬🇧🌹🥂😝🤭🤗😤😉😌🧑🦽🧑🦽
South Africa 🇿🇦 ♥️
Another fun video. Thanks for sharing. Engineers need a break.
Congratulations guys made in safe
Thank you. Good to be back on dry land 🛥️🥂
@@motoryachtloon can’t wait for guys to start some charters in the Bahamas 🇧🇸
Great video, the first time I experienced a virtual crossing. The whole crew seems to get along great. Welcome to my home State. Enjoy your stay (although it's almost over) and I hope the "sailors" had some success in meeting some local ladies. I chuckled, it reminded me of the song "Brandy" (You're a fine girl) by Looking Glass
Nice calm waters!!!!
Great video of a great crew and vessel.
20:50 - how does the tug get out??
The propulsion motors and electricity generators have critical components that are not too difficult to replace if you have the spare parts on board to continue navigation.
We carry an extensive spares list. This was just an unfortunate, rare failure. It didn't stop us and only slowed us down a little. Still made it safely into WPB and is all corrected now. 🛥️🥂
@@motoryachtloon Excellent.
Great voyage. Glad your in the states!
Nothing strengthens authority so much as silence.
Can`t wait to have Loon back on Sint Maarten. Be sure to pass by Ty Art & Gifts in Simpson Bay and give me a big up. We are preparing for Secret Santa gifts for the crew to shop.🎄❤
We can't wait, either. Keep an eye out for us coming through the bridge mid November 🛥️🥂
I like how Blair had the video ready to go. As soon as there was a red flag in the F1 race... POSTED! 😂
hahaha we learnt from last week's race.
Interesting , Thank You
Protect each other and stick together
Thanks!
wow amazing thank you! 😁
Did you find out where your engine is?
Super cool 😎
That is the way to cross the oceans
Great Video! Thank You
love this channel
The amount of happiness that you have depends on the amount of freedom you have in your heart.
Well done to Engineering, it's always a stressful time when you are down to one engine especially that far out. The running one becomes your baby (even more so than usual) and you dote on it, every noise, every little tick is amplified 100 times. It really does increase stress levels in the control room considerably.
I'm wondering if they changed both HP pumps and kept the good old one as the spare or only swapped out the US one and kept a new spare? My preference would be the former but procedures vary from vessel to vessel and engineer to engineer.
Sounds like you’ve been there before.
The love and care for the Port Main Engine definitely increased but luckily it didn’t miss a beat.
We definitely changed both once back in Florida 🛥️🥂
In my case it was around halfway between Pitcairn Island and Brisbane (72m research vessel), I heard the change before I was woken up. That was the last really good sleep I had on that passage.@@motoryachtloon
I was actually eating a boiled egg during the egg cup cleaning section.................my life is soooo sad.
Great video
Great vid as always!!!!
I hope you guys found that engine again, losing such a costly item must be embarrassing.
Haha, yeah it was quite the adventure trying to find that engine! But don't worry, we managed to track it down. Phew!
As a South African migrant to Australia it's really interesting to hear two familair accents from most of the staff Just curious why so many South Africans work on Loon?
Engineering crew is the most most important crew on the ship. Without them you would be literally dead in the water
Those that know, do. Those that understand, teach.
Thank you for bringing us along. Great job!
I imagine it is a vast boon to have two engineers on board when something like an engine goes out in the middle of an ocean crossing.
Great video as always! Would be interested in hearing about the boat handling on one engine.
I know what word followed the ice 🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
5!
How did the ladies clean the silver? I need to clean some of my own, silver.
Just to clarify, I really have a new silver set I need to clean. The silver set is at least 80 years old. Is it bicarbonate baking soda please advise.
Davie is wearing an ICON jacket; is that ICON the aircraft builder? Does he own an A5?
Loons manufacture is Icon. The Dutch ship builder 🤙
@@motoryachtloon oh! Roger. Thank you.
Will we see Loon in the Bahamas this winter?MY Moonraker will keep an eye out for you if so.
Another great video. If it's not a Loon secret, what is in the hamburger patties? They looked mouth-watering, even in the video.
🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 I see you guys 😉
coorookokorookookoo cheers captain 😜
was that a dot matrix printer @16:02 ?
Great videos and absolutely loved every single second of the crossing, you guys are all amazing! If I may ask why it looked as you were coming in to West Palm from east side and south of Bahamas if I saw correctly? Just thinking if you came from Gibraltar and moved and grooved a little with weather, why not just straight into Marina from the north? I always want to learn, and appreciate it! Also any news on t-shirts?
Hi I love the amazing yacht club keep up the great work may I ask can you please do a video on what does the crew walkie-talkies please?
Man, you just had Neptune on the boat, and you're thanking Poseidon?
Great videos as always thank you I look forwards to them every Sunday. Now being born and raised in the Azores and { now live in California} lol how far do you guys cross from it ....and why not pull in to Horta, Faial where most cross atlantic crossers stop buy.or swing by Caldeira north side of Sao Jorge island its a great beautiful place thats where I was raised and go and where my parents have a home and where I vacation ...
less gooo
