John and Paul were quite selfish. They rejected this song cos it was written by George. Then, George went to look for Eric. Later on, they found out that it was a great song but again they were too proud to recognize it. Personally, I think this is the best love song ever written.
Paul did later admit that this was incredible song and said that he regretted that he did not work with George more to encourage his songwriting talents.
@@MYERZ08 Yup, while they didn't support his writing earlier on he didn't go to Clapton on this one. Clapton appears on While My Guitar Gently Weeps as the lead guitar and George is rhythm.

There was a rumor going around that this song was the Beatles answer to the song from Love story but in reality it was George Harrison's ode to Patty Boyd a woman he truly loved.
