About what happens in this phase this is my version.
Chara/Player knows who this sanses are and their traits, but he/she attacked COTV because:
1. They (the player/Chara) know that [HARD-MODE] dies in one hit, and even though he is a tough opponent, they think that he will die either way trying to save COTV or LB
2. They don't attack LB because they already know that it is useless since he'll survive thanks to gaster's help
3. About COTV i think he was the target since in terms of base power he's the closest to classic Sans and therefore, at first sight, he should be the easiest one to kill.
All this being said the player thought that by attacking COTV, [HARD-MODE] would tank the hit dying in the process but unexpectedly the one tanking the hit was LB, since he know that [HARD-MODE] would die and that he could afford it.
This action shocked [HARD-MODE] and, as a final stand, LB threw a special attack trying to end the fight as soon as posible.
About KAB it seems that he came to the timeline sooner than he anticipated, and shocked by the situation he's now in, he got careless and got hit.
[HARD-MODE] probably retreated from LB special attack because after seeing KAB got hurt, he thought he'd be the next on getting hit and therefore, getting killed.
And for LB's death, The player knows that he's still on his second phase and that he still has his third one, so, to avoid having one more problem on this fight, he/she attacked him repeteadly to end him before he would become a bigger problem (AEE)
Edit: Probably LB already know that would make a selfless sacrifice like TITR did on CTT so he did It beforehand (tho he didn't know that it'd be his end) giving his own and in The end saving [HARD-MODE].
This is good but last breath isn’t dead, like hard mode he is getting stabilized so he can get his physical form back but it will take a-lot of time so,you can count him as dead.
Yes, but because hard mode is still alive, I would say that he will surely receive an increase in power as it happens in karmatic time backwards, causing him to be more difficult to defeat like me, I know that due to this battle, he is filled with anger and determination, causing him to become more powerful, refusing to die, attacking the human more frantically, due to what happened, he decides to interfere and there is calling new allies to the Battle with the help of Kab Sans
Calling me that I know some sans that he hasn't already faced in order to have an advantage such as calling finale the bonely to help in the battle because probably the human already knows ainavol and agem who I would say will come later in phase 3
But it may also be that 2 more will come to help in the battle such as last stand or fautles sans may even titr hard mode join any of them to the battle as 1 new member or some other sans
Okay KAB just had a skill issue
Imagine coming for a few seconds and straight up get downed to your Phase 2 instantly

This is the first time that [HARD-MODE] survived, and will move on yo another phase.
And there's no actual way that KAB got hit after showing up in a few seconds, poor KAB and LB.

In the end you can see Gaster with the soul of LB! Sans in a very similar way to a fan version of phase 4, so he may be revived in the future

Is it just me or did lb getting hm treatment feels a lot sadder than hm. For me I’m used to seeing hm get deleted in 1.25 but for some reason this lb actually kinda made me feel sad at the end. Am I tripping? Or is this a valid feeling?
