      Mainstream media News is absolutely pathetic, they might as well be reading children's book fairy-stories.
      Megyn Kelly and even Douglas K Murray are suddenly regurgitating these highly emotionalized USA / Israeli narratives like robots and that IS disappointing. You'd want at least some popular critical commentators and newscasters to have one foot on solid ground.

Quick question for you (if you currently live in Iran and don't want to answer I understand - not sure what their domestic spying is like) do you think there will be a regime change/revolution soon or will it be more of a slow burn kind of like Saudi govt slowly changing as the younger generation takes power and older ones retire?

    Wait, did he say we have two carrier strike groups in the Mediterranean just to rescue US hostages? If I did hear that correctly? that is...well...wrong. The US does not need to have a carrier in the region to rescue hostages and certainly not two, I can't even really connect the dots on that one. It could be I misunderstood or maybe being it is a podcast he misstated what he means. The US moves carrier strike groups to project power, mostly as a deterrent. That is the point today. Not sure why the US would need a carrier to rescue hostages in Gaza, they can use multiple airports in Israel if needed. The point of the carriers and other US navy assets in the region has nothing to do with hostages and everything to do with keeping Iran and it's proxies out of the war.

    • @mbengambenga-xi6dp
      @mbengambenga-xi6dp 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, US doesn't want to launch fighter planes w bombs from Israel to support a hostage rescue of helicopters. That would seem too much like a full alliance. And Israel is about to kill 100,000 and ignore US requests for moderation, so we want to stress it's not a full alliance and each is free agent not coordinating. I'm not sure US even has fighter planes and helicopters based in Israel, we can't just assume US has extra 100 air craft there.. So Biden is sending in some extra carriers with nothing better to do .....

    I'm 70 years old and have never before had such an understanding of geopolitics as I am now receiving from Mr Zeihan. It's like taking several college courses all at once.......for free. Thank you both for this "best of all" interview. I only wish others (read; journalists) had this info - most of them are flying blind over Hamas/Israel conflict.

      @@chrischris9157 By already reading in depth in history and geopolitics, so if he says something that is obviously full of crap it will stand out. You'll already know its wrong. If you are wholly ignorant and get your news from Twitter and Fox News then its perfectly possible that Peter is full of crap. It sounds so different from the news sources you are used to, but that doesn't mean its wrong, it simply means you don't already know a lot about history and geopolitics. For instance, you could read books on modern Iranian history and the history of Hamas. You could read books on the structure of maritime trade, etc. But that would require you to make an effort so, whatever. He is famous now because he predicted the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine in his previous books.

      @@chrischris9157 I think its important to understand that Zeihan is not full of crap. He's even worse. He's a CIA shill. So most of the information he's sharing is actually accurate and valid... but he's adding a spin to all of it that subtly (or blatantly) protects the interests of American empire, and its sword the CIA. Clearest example of this is when he adds extra bravado saying that America will always save American citizens in hostage situations. What a joke lol.

      @@chrischris9157 I suggest reading/listening to his latest book. It has depth & breadth, and is an easy read-or at least an easy listen! I did listen to the economics and manufacturing sections the second time while reading-I’m an RN, have Long Haul and those 2 weren’t my forte pre-Rona!! But he speaks plainly, and doesn’t speak Econocrap (similar to how some docs talk over peoples heads!). Plus, he has a sense of humor, and measure of sarcasm, both of which I think you need with these topics!

      I really detest the tiresome "open air prison camp" rhetoric which he repeated several times. Nobody is keeping the Palestinians from turning their strip of land into another Singapore, or a nice seaside resort. However, instead they spend all that money they receive for weapons to attack their stronger neighbor. Why? It's in H_m_s founding charter, and they aren't shy about it: They don't want peace, prosperity and freedom. They want to end every single Jew. Simple as.

RE: 15:05 - That was always my understanding... however, I went to Israel in the spring and the State Department travel advisory repeatedly and emphatically stated that if you were in country and something happens, do NOT expect assistance and make your own plans for potential extraction. I was wondering if this was an affect of the Afghanistan exit.

Hamas has been using it to train for this attack for at least a year. There is no way they didn't know this was coming.. It's hard to believe that they didn't know. It is also unbelievable that it took their military 6+ hours to respond to the attack.

      Israel created hamas snd Netanyahu was fund raising for them in 2019. I think Netanyahu arranged this. They had to know, the security was conveniently down, no soldiers around. Netanyahu smiling and laughing on tv gloating over getting to attack gaza. Netanyahu couldnt help but talk about how israel was now united........ because they were, and still will be, about ready to have a civil war.

      Thank you so much for saying it, cuz I went to watch it barely an hour after it originally posted earlier this evening, and it immediately came back and said I couldn't, it was "unavailable" and/or a "private" video. I instantly found it to be incredibly suspicious and that if it was no longer watchable, I figured it was almost certainly due to ¥T sensor ship, but even though that was my interpretation I still couldn't be sure. So I appreciate you (all) for saying something about it, and for letting me know that whatever the case is/was, that it wasn't purely just my take on it only. Clearly something was up about it, and no surprise there. Really just glad that despite that I'm still able to finally watch it now. Stay frosty
