"How Great Thou Art" is a Christian hymn based on a Swedish traditional melody and a poem written by Carl Boberg (1859-1940) in Mönsterås, Sweden, in 1885. (Recommend headphones) - เพลง

Such a beautiful song Geoff it was my mom’s favourite she passed away in 2017 and my dad passed away this year in Dec and this was played at his funeral thanks Geoff it brought back beautiful memories

Hello Geoff. I've probably commented about this video before, but I just can't get enough of it. This has always been my favourite hymn, both in music & in words. Many years ago I was asked to preside at the Lord's Table in our church, a task that also required an address to the congregation and the selection the hyms for the service itself. Our church had many eledrly members who often lamented the absence of the old hyms, so often replaced by modern scripture in song numbers, & so I deliberately chose 4 traditional hyms, including The Old Rugged Cross, and at the conclusion of the service I was surrounded by these same elderly parishioners, plus many of the younger people, some in tears, thanking me for my choice of hymns, & especially The Old Rugged Cross, which they said had never before been included in a service there. One church member later quizzed me about selecting it for the service, saying it was not spiritually sound. Where he got that from I've never been able to discover. To me, and so many others that day, it was a beautiful hym, long overdue. Your rendition Geoff, is as usual, pure perfection, and how great to have the words on the video to accompany it. This would be my favourite of all the wonderful recordings you've made. Thank you, & God Bless. Alistair.

I am inclined to agree with you my friend. Modern hymns just don't do it for me.
I remember as a child, my mother singing the solo in "The Old Rugged Cross" at the local Methodist church. It has stayed with me ever since.
Having said all that, there is a modern religious song that i am addicted to at the moment. You may care to take a listen.

I absolutely love this. I think my dad would too if he was still here. He was a passionate guitar player and Luthier. He adored building, repairing and playing guitars. It was ingrained in soul. Thanks for the beautiful music and stirring up memories of my dad. God bless

After viewing several traditional Easter 'Story of the Passion ' movies this past weekend, I think that this hymn beautifully and emotionally caps them off. The lyrics sum up many people's reactions to the story of Christ's last days on earth. It is a powerful, heart-felt song. Constantly serves as a reminder of this sacred time throughout the year [for Christians].
You've done a wonderful presentation of this tune---treating it with the reverence it deserves. Once again, you manage to interrupt a "busy" life with a time-out. A much-needed 'time-out'!!
