In last century the biggest philanthropist is Jamshedji. He donated a massive $100 billions to poor. Even a company took a survey and ranked him 1st position in philanthropists list.....
Its all because pf ratan tata who is giving 66 percent of income in charity otherwise he will be the worlds richest .all tata family big salute of doing soo much charity and helping everyone worldwide
Tata is a business empire with a heart. The group trasformed lives of an entrie generation of Indians when they started their steel plant in Jamshedpur. The city is called now "Tatanagar".
Whosoever drove the TATAs out of West Begal, India are still ruling the state for 2 terms. It's a measure of the standard of the majority people of this state. No comments invited.
As world citizen I'm not worth my salt if I'm not even inclined to investing in the TATAs who, of all, spend 66% of ethically earned profit in charity. Name the close second with over 350 billion dollar investment worldwide.
Alex, it was not the coffee brand called Gap, but the coffee machine maker Gap. Secod, Tata is 60% owned by Tata Trust, and the res by Institutional and individual shareholders. It’s not that Tata gives 60% of It’s profits to charity, though they do a lot of social work and cummunity help.
They don't give 66% profit to charity. They have given 66% of their ownership shares to charity organization. So basically the charitable organizations are now the owners of the entire conglomerate, which is unheard of in any other multinational business group in the world.
Tata group has the highest percentage in charity than any other company in the world of similar size... and it is estimated that if they had kept that 66%, the company owner, Mr. Ratan Tata would have been the richest man on earth ever...
TATA gives the largest portion of the share to charity (66%) which is why he is not among the top 3 richest people in the world. No other companies are close to them in terms of charity.
