Two decent pedals for the price. Cheaper then the Anderson’s brand Golden Plexi I bought last Month which has clapped out on me. I do love that Horseman’s Tone a bit more. True bypass at that price is really impressive. The Horse Man has got some grit that I love. Yet another great one Jon thanks 👍😀❤️
Your playing is amazing as always! I think you're review is perfect. The focus is on the performance of the pedal and not how it compares to a pedal that costs much much more. I think folks hear with their eyes too often (myself included! lol)
Can you please do a video on the Monterey vibe there's some functions when you press the button a certain way multiple times it does different things mine came into neighbor's mailbox and they kept the instructions so I don't have instructions to it and I would really appreciate the video so my disabled but can understand how to use this pedal I can make it make some sounds but I don't know what I'm doing
Great review, like always, thx Jon! I lately updated the Reverb on my Cerberus unit because NUX offers a shimmer reverb you can put on one of the 3 reverb presets. Anyways, in the Cerberus software i noticed they got pretty cocky and and put the Morning Glory Fountain / Palmtree Logo as an icon for the overdrive. Which i absolutely love. Always wanted that OD on my "big board" and the Morning Star seems to deliver. I think i'll buy one. Thanks again nvm my rambling.
So jon as you do more and more pedal reviews... I am curious, at some point are you going to weigh in on preference 'pedals' or 'plugins' ..considering only sound, not having to carry them etc :P
Hi Jon, thanks for demo. I looked at your Joyo Tauren demo, I looked at TC Electronics Zeus pedal, I didn't like the EH Soul Food. So did I just ordered that NUX Horseman. The TC Zeus is great pedal too but unavailable , and I do like the Gold Horseman tones. Cheers. (Oh, and the Morning Star tones are sweet but I don't need them)
The thing about the Klon Centaur is that there is no difference between any of them. The circuit never changed, no matter the color of the case. And they're all low gain. So whatever the Silver mode does in this NU-X pedal, it's just a gimmick. I agree, though, I think it sounds nice! And the only people who will buy these who have also owned a Klon Centaur, well that'll be Josh Scott, just so he can have one. I think it's hilarious that there is red crinkle confetti in the Morning Star box becuse that's exactly how JHS packs their pedals. I'm sure Josh will be flattered. =)

What I mean is that there is a mythology, aside from the accepted mythos, amongst we mere mortals, that the gold case & silver case are different. I prefer dirt pedals with clipping options, and own several with hard & soft options. The fact that NU-X gave it two tonally distinct sounds is a plus!

I own both pedals, my favorite overdrives and have both made permanent placed on my board. They sound great stacked too! Love the momentary switch on both pedals, like having two pedals in one. High quality stuff, also the NuX customer service is legit great. Had the morning star die on me, they were responsive and super polite. Got my new pedal in the mail and it’s back on my board. Great stuff!
I have the horseman. Interested in the morning star now as the mooer blues crab failed me when I tried it out the volume sucks. How's the morning glory in buffer mode? Thanks in adv.
@@melodicshredder5834 no noise or volume drop when the buffer is engaged. Would recommend putting at the end of the chain if you want to roll with the buffer on

I use the klon at the end. i think I'd like to add this morning star after my phase 90 script because the phaser is really high output, so this as pre gain and horseman doing the post gain. Stacking them in between rat/ts808/timmy or even ocd would compliment the sound I hope.

It's like a 3 in 1, i.e. you have the Gold and the Silver and in my opinion a booster. I linked it up with a Tube Screamer and it's even better. I'll get the Morning Star as soon as they have it back in stock.
