BLUE DAMSEL they are doing pretty well. Actually swimming in the open together. Just got done with water change, Carbon, change GFO change and kalk RO change.... UGH! Really liking the idea of Triton!
Use a mirror at least twice the size of the fish a place it on either side of the aquarium and it should keep the problem fish distracted for a week or so so the new fish can pretty much roam around uun bothered after a week or two you can remove it and the new fish should be left alone
jason I got the clowns direct from ORA and their QT process is intense! Since their clownfish are completely captive bread and no other fish from the ocean comes into contact with their system I felt I did not need to QT the clowns. As for the angel and copper? Didn’t work. I lost the angel due to copper (Coppersafe not Cupprimine) after two weeks. Could have been acclimation drip damage due to elevated ammonia in the water it came in but I will never know for certain. I just know he was perfectly fine and eating like a horse and then dead as a door nail. The second flame angel came from divers den and QT with observation only. No meds were necessary I just needed to be careful and watch for signs of parasites which did not present itself.
I have a nearly identical tank and plan to add a flame angel and kole tang to the pair of clownfish and blenny I have currently. How did these two fare long term?
Stephen Hess they ended up doing fine. I removed the flame angel and put him in an acclimation box and then released him at night. Releasing at night when the tang was sleeping allowed the smaller faster flame angel to find hiding spots. The tang could not catch the angel and eventually gave up lol.
next time around add them all in at the same time. I have over 150 saltwater fish and I have been around the block and back trust me on that one they should be fine just give him a day or two
rob sool Aquatics I have read that a few different times also Rob. Problem was starting off was that I only had a 10 Gallon QT tank so I couldn’t load it down with fish especially with copper. So I got the tang and an angel to start and they got along pretty well but the angel died because of copper I assume. So they were phase 1, then I was getting a pair of clowns and a few wrasse. I got the tang for 75 bucks so I had to jump at the price.
Awesome that they are tolerating each other! 💙🐠

That's a good tip. I didn't have one handy for this time but on the next build I will have a mirror ready!
Juss Less, where did you put the mirror? Thanks in advance.
