@herbergeen, grey all by itself would be dull and boring but a special silver mica finish was sprayed over it. American especially saw this combination effective for its forthcoming Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.
Thank you for showing us an up close view of all those beautiful birds. I wish American Airlines would have never done away with that wonderful silver livery.✈️😊
This has grown on me. It has the newer look that a lot of foreign carriers have, but better. I really think this looks great now. The old livery was just that, old. Can't wait to see the new modern fleet painted in this livery
There's something almost early '60's Retro about it. The age of jets, the classiness of air travel and similar images come to mind. Now if they would work on the "internals": the service and attitude of the 1960's to match this new livery, it will be one great proud airline again. By the way, that eagle looks terrific. Well done.
Almost four years later and my view of this livery has evolved. Mostly because it's hard to let go of something you've known for a while, but I've managed to appreciate this livery more now; the silver paint without the stripes makes the fuselage look more "pure", while the "holographic" tail is certainly pleasing to look at /up close/ (doesn't have the same effect far away). The only mistake was getting rid of the double-A logo. Should've kept it and made the titles "AAmerican" stretch across the fuselage, colored or just the same gray would've worked. Still, the old-livery is still my favorite over the new one, although I like the new one better on 738s.
When this new livery was first introduced, it represented change for the better. This was when AA was putting in seatback screens, mood lighting, and other upgrades. 4 years later however, this livery also represented AA's fall-off because they did not change the livery when they introduced Project Oasis, when they formed the short-lived NEA that made AA look weak, and other downgrades. This livery once represented a golden era but it got ruined by also representing a downhill era that followed. This is the same effect for the Continental Globe livery that later got adopted by United.
Very Very Nice.......!!!...sidenote:...I can't help but see.....the Almost perfect shade of "TWA Airline's RED" in its new livery.....!!!.....The perfect shade of 'RED'....will always belong ONLY to TWA...Airline's......the one True "Legacy Airline".....that was snuffed out....by Greed!!!!!........
I totally agree about the Greyhound bus look, especially the red and blue slash in the front. But flying is basically a bus experience these days, so maybe it's just truth in advertising.
Thanks for posting all your videos. I, for one, love the new American livery. I'm glad it will be retained after the merger with US Airways (which hasn't completed repainting all its inventory after their last merger with America West in 2005). I just hope that American will get both fleets repainted fairly quickly.
Looks like red, white and blue piano keys on the tail! And yes, I agree, there is something very Greyhound bus lines about the new livery. Look at the eagle logo along the fuselage just back of the cockpit.
I'm still trying to get used to the new livery. I like the "flight symbol"; I would like to see a shinier or more silver colored background and I still think the tail is a little much.
At first I thought it was ugly, then it kind of grew on me so, screw it, it's not bad. I do have to say it seems like an awful expense to repaint a whole fleet of aircraft for both American and US Air.
I would like to see MD-80 in new livery. MD-11 would look nice too in new American scheme. Too bad American wants to depart with all McDonnell Douglas aircraft.
This I think is one of the better new liveries of the recent times. Airlines like JAL, Malaysia (both A330/737 and A380 versions) and Finnair went on a step backward with their bland, tasteless new liveries.
At first, I didn't like it...but as I see it now and considered what they did...a great looking livery...it's a compromise for the merger...but nicely done...at least they worked it...look how stupid it is to see a Continental tail on a United!
It looks good but when you are inside the airplane you are bombarded with the harsh engine sound. My friend james asquith was really screwed up by that noise.
@herbergeen, grey all by itself would be dull and boring but a special silver mica finish was sprayed over it. American especially saw this combination effective for its forthcoming Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet.
Agreed. The colors on the tail are a bold yet refined while the rest of the aircraft is elegantly subtle. Its a fresh look and very "American".
Thanks again for your help America
Thank you for showing us an up close view of all those beautiful birds.
I wish American Airlines would have never done away with that wonderful silver livery.✈️😊
very beautiful enjoying video very interesting supper
beautiful job, SpeedbirdHD!! i think the new livery is rather good-looking. just wish they keep the eagle on it somewhere.
nice brothre my echrreBb nn
The chrome effect was more eyecatching.
Love the fact the the rudder stands out more.

This new livery is very nice, I loved it! Very nice video!
You alive still...
the 1968 livery is so much classier. They should never have changed it.
Great video,SB! The new look of AA & US Air!
Now, Lufthansa is the only Company with a unique design....
bro American is my fav I just love those wings
As I was driving by the airport I saw the old American Airlines jet with the old familiar double a logo
amazing video!! compliments, the new livery is fantastic, the 767 seems bigger with the new livery than the old.
greetings from Rome
How wonderful all airplanes!! marvelous,I taken fun.......dots***
Very nice
❤️🚢 San'a ❤ .

nice shots...thanks
Great Video as always, keep your work up!
@jjouney, I agree, especially with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner scheduled to join American's fleet as early as next year.

Especially on that A321T.
Yea I would like it more if they kept the AA Eagle 🦅

I think I remembered when I went to the North California
Absolutely awesome video!!!!!
I like the old design better

Well said my dear , how are you doing today ?
Hope you are good
Awesome video! I like the new livery very much! :)
Love the livery ❤️💙👌🏻

Does anyone know what runway the plane landed on in the first clip of the 737 landing?
Beautiful airplane! The juxtaposed liveries @ 1:18 is a nice contrast of the past with the future. Great footage, as always.
Great job!
Nice
I think that this nwe livery fits really good to the 737s and smaller planes and also to the 777, but i don't like how it looks in the 757
The new american is a piece of beautiful art
I Want To Go To America. Let's Have A Flight There.
Good nice 👍👍👍👍
Brilliant video....
Is there a 777 in new livery?
nice :) island greetings
I love the new AA livery!! Work of genius and a new modern look and logo!
@VTDHD 2:19 is a 767-300 or -200.
ChrisTheAvgeek / Aviation And Rail Productions 200 I believe
N368AA is a -300.
-300
Aman Hello -300, I think they retired the -200 before the launching of the (new) livery.
This logo looks more modern day. But old one was better
American airlines is my favorite# fly American!✈🇺🇸
Love American Airlines
Love amerucan airlines
it has not flown to LAX with regular service yet.
I saw a bunch of planes in new livery at JFK it looks awesome. You could see everyone turning their heads to look at the new livery.
I love the new livery; it looks patriotic, and a lot classier than bare metal.
now, we miss it 😪
Such a nice livery! Doesn't look retro anymore :)
I love the livery but I wish they would change the logo. Just replace the new logo with the old one or something like that and it will be great.
I wish they would of kept the planes shiny, it would of been a great livery IMO.
Thanks for posting all your videos. I, for one, love the new American livery. Classy !
The old classic lightning bolt was the best.
👼
they should have painted the cabin part of the aircraft white instead of gray but the tail looks really good thou
Nice
Looks like red, white and blue piano keys on the tail! And yes, I agree, there is something very Greyhound bus lines about the new livery. Look at the eagle logo along the fuselage just back of the cockpit.
dude that looks like 3 musketeer wrappers
I'm gonna miss the polished aluminum and the "AA" on the tail. The new livery has some appeal but the classic 1968 livery makes American so unique.
I like the older ones better
thank you all for your comments... I wished TH-cam had a better way to reply to comments
As i am retried from American Airlines thank you for this video
go American my dad. was retired. from American airlines
Hlw i want to connect with you
i still think the old textures are better...
Nice
*_lindo Demais!_*
at 2:19 is a 777 right?
VDTHD no that's a 767
very nice plane
nice :) !
Hope that these ones would be safe
For passengers
That's the problem. The new composite materials they make planes out of now have to be painted.
I really do like the new livery, but I feel the design would be nice if it didn't include the new redesigned eagle. It doesn't seem to fit in well.
Cool
I'm still trying to get used to the new livery. I like the "flight symbol"; I would like to see a shinier or more silver colored background and I still think the tail is a little much.
I love this country
It's a perfect one
At first I thought it was ugly, then it kind of grew on me so, screw it, it's not bad.
I do have to say it seems like an awful expense to repaint a whole fleet of aircraft for both American and US Air.
i like the plane but i dont like the livery. thanks for the awesome video.
yes... what THEY call the eagle....
I would like to see MD-80 in new livery. MD-11 would look nice too in new American scheme. Too bad American wants to depart with all McDonnell Douglas aircraft.
My take: The tail is too busy for the simple yet elegant fuselage.
nice wroki bro good ...
It's not quite as recognisable, though. But does look smarter.
why do you never reply to our nice comments? just wondering.....
One day i will come here
do u work at LAX
i think he does
Julian Gutierrez rggsafGgssgsgev vs ysvgessgegssge GC dyg
the new livery looks good only on the 737's
It's like a disaster movie!! You should rename this 'Airport 2013 - The American screw up'. --- Hey!, I think that's Charlton Heston Piloting!!!!!
Very nice airport American
This new livery feels a bit borrowed from British Airways.
Hello dear , how are you doing today ?
I'm flying to London today on a 777-300 ER.
How many of those new Americans were there
This I think is one of the better new liveries of the recent times. Airlines like JAL, Malaysia (both A330/737 and A380 versions) and Finnair went on a step backward with their bland, tasteless new liveries.

Me gustaba más el diseño anterior, los aviones plateados con 3 bandas más elegantes.
i agree
It looks good but when you are inside the airplane you are bombarded with the harsh engine sound. My friend james asquith was really screwed up by that noise.
Love the new Logo.....but bring back the bare metal!
WIth composite materials, the polished aluminum look is no longer feasible.
❤❤❤❤
Guys, they are still using the old american airlines planes
