I didn’t find the Kings upset about the pen distressing. He had been through an endless barrage of attention given the passing of his Mother and his instant ascendancy to the throne. I have no doubt he was utterly exhausted.
To then sit, likely near complete exhaustion; with the surround of people and the barrage of paperwork and attendants giving him direction and his own internal emotions and energy utterly depleted; to have a stupid pen blot onto the historic documents he was signing, would push any human to “the brink”.
Give the man a break.

Harry doesn’t understand how many people in Los Angeles want a piece of him. Many therapists would like to have him in their office; he is a royal after all (or was). The lawyers, PRs, hairdressers, pre interview make up artists and all those ‘yes’ people. Whereas, when he was part of the Royal Family, they only wanted him to work for which he had a guaranteed income. I don’t think he is happy in the US with mounting problems such as his visa. We all know here that (a) he has been a drug user for a very long time and (b) Eton has a terrible reputation for drug taking. Prince William was protected because he knew that his destiny was watching and worked very hard to gain good grades that would eventually take him to St Andrews University where he met the Catherine, Prince of Wales now. Take your time to feel better, Catherine. We love you to bits.
