I also tend to have a lot of flashing from my dice- but I save it up in bags, by color group, and then when I have a bunch saved up, I put it in a spice grinder (I have one with detachable blender cups, and I have 1 designated cup just for resin blending), lightly blend it until it's about the size of shredded mylar flakes on average, and dump the shards into core molds, and then cast them in the shells. Using the core molds helps a lot, because they do tend to have sharp edges that can kinda poke out the sides a little bit and cause deformities, which are solved by the shells! Definitely worth trying if you want! You can get some insane unbelievable color patterns and shades that you can't get any other way with this method! And each set is completely one of a kind.
Great dice, love character-based dice, and the different ways to approach that. When you were painting on the "veins" of silver, I had a thought, inspired by all the Warhammer mini painters I've been watching lately - Texture paints. Specifically crackle texture. What if you made a pure SILVER core, as silver and smooth as you can manage, then apply a pigment-rich white crackle paint atop the core? As it dries, it will crackle and reveal glimering silver beneath the surface of white. Then you put a clear shell, and boom. It looks cool in my head, that's all I'm sayin. Good to see you makin dice some more Rybo!

The flowing of the paint makes it more "ore-ganic" you say 😃 I really like the fire inking against the soft white, it kind of gives the feeling of seeing a fire through some misty fog

My favorite character to play has to be from my oldest campaign that's been going on since some of our group has been in college, close to... ten years at this point? Other games popped up to keep others playing when some of us have to cancel, so, that's part of the reason. Life happens. Anyhoo, my character is an Undine Oracle of Winds in Pathfinder 1st Edition(think divine sorcerer for those not familiar with Pathfinder), with the setting in a homebrewed Wheel of Time campaign. We've got Mythic Tiers, level... 15 I think? Maybe 16, I'd have to grab my character sheet. In setting, she's something called a windfinder, someone who reads the winds and can help manipulate them to give her people's sailing ships calm waters and fair winds. Just got a set of dice at GenCon that's sea based and those are finally her dice. So happy!
ive been playing this character for 2 years, and i love him so much. his name is Alston Turren, he's an English (common) middle school teacher as his day to day job and adventures in the summer. he's an 86 year old wood gnome abjuration wizard (level 10). he has a crested gecko familiar he uses as an emotional support animal, and a magic ring that summons the feral barbarian version of him (named Weird Al) who's essentially the version of him that got really into party culture instead of becoming a teacher. my goal was to make Just a Guy and my dm continues to try and make him an interesting adventurer.

One thing I’ve found that has helped me eliminate the raised face lip problem is to cure my dice upside down. Too bad I’ve started working on a set that has things inside that sink instead of staying in place. Clear dice are tricky 😂 Seeing your video pop up made me happy. Thanks for making another! And wow! That inking color(s) really pop!
My campaign is currently paused for the foreseeable future however, I'm playing as an amnesiac half-elf wizard named Periwinkle and he's on a quest to find his marbles. The little glass beads are enchanted with his memories of who he was and what happened to him in order to make him have amnesia in the first place. It's been really fun exploring that.
Whoop i love the puns! Currentky playing a Tiefling Rouge, not 100% on her but its a Old Skool game so shes likky die in a few sessions lol My two favorite character was a Tabaxi Rouge (Swashbuckler) names Cloud on the Mountian Top. She was awesome and very fast, using her feats she came in damaged and got out again. I also loved my War Forged called Fig (Short for fighter) who was a barberian, it wasnt a Ebaron Campaign but i really wanted to play a War Forged. He was transported into our realm and suffered memory loss, it also had a crystal missing which meant he talk like this. Very punchuated. Very simple . Imagine a none native english speaking todler. He loved children and would allow them to climb over him, he was a fairly calm character who didnt listen much and always managed to cause trouble. But when it came to kidnapping, hurting etx of children he was crazy mad and woukdnt listen to reason. I loved that character.
BTW a little tip I learnt from gundam modellers is that you can "prime" with matte medium or matte varnish to not cover the colour underneath. Then after your done painting you can satin varnish again to remove the dulling of the matte
love these dice and welcome back!!! was just gonna say if you haven't already, you should give the dremel sanding method a try--you only have to use three grits of sandpaper, then you use a headlight restorer (I use the one from chemical guys) on a soft cotton dremel bit and it makes the dice sooooo shiny. saves you a lot of sanding time! can't wait to see more vids soon :)
Aww I missed the intro puns! Also those gold molds still look great. I forgot how cool they looked. The dice are gorgeous as usual. The silver glitter inside is a nice accent that just makes the inside glow. I agree the natural flow of the wet paint makes them look a little more realistic. The effect of the little bit of white is great! It’s almost got an ethereal quality. The flame style paint on the numbers just adds to it. Also woo! It’s the video for comebacks, I missed the skillshare ad intros too. A lovely video after a little break. Clearly the dice gods are with you. May they continue to roll in your favor!

Blessed is the Silver Flame! I run a campaign in a heavily bastardised Eberron and my players and I love it. We had a stint in the Mournlands and it was the greatest excuse to throw lots of weird wacky bullshit at them. There's so many cool options for dice from Eberron as well - the Sovereign Host and the Dark Six would be awesome (and probably give you enough videos for over a year lol). I'd be particularly interested in seeing your take on a Mockery set.

Sorry to bring about a problem of raised faces, and the drain on your wallet :P Mostly, if I CONSISTENTLY get them, I remake the molds. If it's every now and again, then I add more weight on top of the mold when in my pressure pot. Usually I just put another silicone mold on top and that helps the issue tremendously. Also, use less resin and see if that helps- just enough to make a surface tension bubble of resin instead of an overflowing mess. Try that! :)
Yes I want to know more about your character :P My current fave character I'm playing is my Friday game guy. The game is played using the DM's self made player guide so things are a lot more difficult and some stuff like the weapons are different. I play an Oath of Sanity Paladin named Damocles Canicus, he's so fun to play because I gave him the trait that he cannot lie so it's been challenging but also fun. There have been times the players have had to interrupt him and take over because he literally cannot lie so everything he says is the truth XD Eberron is one of my faves, mostly because my fave race is the Warforged :P I'd love to see some Warforged themed dice, like each side looks like a panel of metal with rivets in the corners and such.
Warforged are amazing, and Damocles sounds fun to play- if infuriating to play WITH if you're a rogue haha! I posted up a comment with more info on my cleric. I am really enjoying him so far!
Something you can do for a future character, name them Aurum; which is Latin for Gold Gives you both a cool name for a character AND gives your character a gold reference

My absolute favorite character at the moment: Rosamarie, a hyacinth macaw bard. As far as she knows, she's a polymorphed gnome, but she was actually part of an experiment by the big bad to transplant brains into different bodies, so he can take over the kingdom.
Have you ever thought about making a video where you make dice without your pressure pot now that you're more experienced with dice making? It'd be really informative to see an experienced dice maker make dice as bubble and void free without using a pressure pot and giving tips to the people about what worked for them!

oh? an excuse to talk about my dnd characters? im playing two characters: 1) opel yuelnovv, a human cryomancer from the previous campaign i was in (run by the same dm). he's about 430-ish years old (used magic to delay his aging) at the start of this campaign, 27 at the start of the last, and he own this big fuck off ice castle in another plane of existence and in said ice castle is a library, of which he gifts a key to his goddaughter for her 400th birthday, and this library is essentially. big pit with bookshelves all around the sides. it's so deep that you can't see the bottom, it's all just fog if you look down from the top. it has 3603 floors, with music picked out for each segment of floors as you progress deeper, and as you go down, the books get older and older, in increasingly dead languages, and right at the bottom is his personal study that only he can enter and he's currently studying some old artifacts iirc. he also has a roughly 900 year old diary of an inventor 2) occas oryntis, a clockwork dragon druid, who was created by the owner of the previously mentioned diary. she is inhabited by the soul of a character from my dm's first campaign and on occasion, she experiences some of his memories. because she is so old (900+ years), her mechanisms have begun to decay, though she is kept alive by plants that have begun to grow on/inside her and for about 400 ish years i think? has lived within this village, only leaving on the date of opel's goddaughter's birthday bc she sees the whole commotion that's going on for her celebration and then. boom party meet i am VERY upset that we managed a singular session of this campaign before my dm said "aw fuck we gotta cancel" and that was. in march. it's been so long that every so often in the group chat, someone will make a poll of "what comes first, campaign starting back up or hollow knight silksong". but yeah i am. very passionate about my characters

I made sometime ago a collar with the motif of mineral vein, the last and best is one I used a model scribe to make the grooves of the veins, and then use the ink to flow by capillary effect into them. It gives a way defined shape and more complex texture

I'm playing Shylock Totten, halfling wild magic sorcerer/divination wizard with the Lucky feat. Yes, tally it: no nat 1s; advantage on any role I want; three rerolls a day; and two straight up substitutions a day. He is a rejection of the very concept of d20 RNG.
ALAS I have no on going games.. Sad truely V_v but most recent character (game pending indefinitely for now) Is a beast Ranger. They are a frog person inspired from the ancient pueblo people and the red spotted toad. They have a Condor as their animal companion and they are quite comparable in size to each other XD. They are on the hunt for a mysterious beast that attacked their home, willing to help others on the way since their is no direct leads or tracks right now,

My absolute favorite character at the moment: Rosamarie, a hyacinth macaw bard. As far as she knows, she's a polymorphed gnome, but she was actually part of an experiment by the big bad to transplant brains into different bodies, so he can take over the kingdom.

Have you ever thought about making a video where you make dice without your pressure pot now that you're more experienced with dice making? It'd be really informative to see an experienced dice maker make dice as bubble and void free without using a pressure pot and giving tips to the people about what worked for them!
I can give it a shot sure! It's difficult to say the least, but it CAN be done :)

I actually was just organizing some stuff the other day and set them on top of my 'Come up with an idea to use these for you silly boy' stack haha. Going to offer the card ones as an idea for another player's character :)

oh? an excuse to talk about my dnd characters?
im playing two characters:
1) opel yuelnovv, a human cryomancer from the previous campaign i was in (run by the same dm). he's about 430-ish years old (used magic to delay his aging) at the start of this campaign, 27 at the start of the last, and he own this big fuck off ice castle in another plane of existence and in said ice castle is a library, of which he gifts a key to his goddaughter for her 400th birthday, and this library is essentially. big pit with bookshelves all around the sides. it's so deep that you can't see the bottom, it's all just fog if you look down from the top. it has 3603 floors, with music picked out for each segment of floors as you progress deeper, and as you go down, the books get older and older, in increasingly dead languages, and right at the bottom is his personal study that only he can enter and he's currently studying some old artifacts iirc. he also has a roughly 900 year old diary of an inventor
2) occas oryntis, a clockwork dragon druid, who was created by the owner of the previously mentioned diary. she is inhabited by the soul of a character from my dm's first campaign and on occasion, she experiences some of his memories. because she is so old (900+ years), her mechanisms have begun to decay, though she is kept alive by plants that have begun to grow on/inside her and for about 400 ish years i think? has lived within this village, only leaving on the date of opel's goddaughter's birthday bc she sees the whole commotion that's going on for her celebration and then. boom party meet
i am VERY upset that we managed a singular session of this campaign before my dm said "aw fuck we gotta cancel" and that was. in march. it's been so long that every so often in the group chat, someone will make a poll of "what comes first, campaign starting back up or hollow knight silksong". but yeah i am. very passionate about my characters
Love the characters, and a "Big Fuck Off Ice Castle" is peak character goals haha. Rough that it was only one session though!
@@Rybonator my dm msged me and was like "make opel a castle" n i was like. okay lmao and about a week later he msged me saying "forget that i made the castle myself" so big fuck off ice castle was the best way i could describe it 😭 he tried organising a oneshot recently but too many people couldn't make it sooo yeah. one can only dream...

I made sometime ago a collar with the motif of mineral vein, the last and best is one I used a model scribe to make the grooves of the veins, and then use the ink to flow by capillary effect into them. It gives a way defined shape and more complex texture

but most recent character (game pending indefinitely for now) Is a beast Ranger. They are a frog person inspired from the ancient pueblo people and the red spotted toad. They have a Condor as their animal companion and they are quite comparable in size to each other XD.
They are on the hunt for a mysterious beast that attacked their home, willing to help others on the way since their is no direct leads or tracks right now,
