    I highly recommend this machine! Accuracy comparable with bench mark Hermle, and so many features witch other brands only dream of. Such as a really usable CAS (Crash avoiding System ) that really works. Also Gear skiving is top notch. Only drawback IMHO is the relatively weak HSK spindle, if you want to have rpm. They have also Big Plus spindles witch are stronger, but with less rpm. All in all a top end machine.

    Is this the Space Center? We had 10 of those at GE Power Systems Airfoils. Awesome machines! And how do you get one for your apartment? First cut a hole in your floor and pour 3 feet of concrete into your downstairs neighbor’s ceiling.

    The Okuma is a great machining centers !I do prefer the Morie Sekie 5 Axis Vertical Machining Center,due to the great success with this Machine Group it has to support every facet of your manufacturing needs!I'm a Engineer who knows the Machine Tools are not broken,you have no need too have unexpected down time.I had always used the J&H Machine Tool..J&H is located in Charlotte North Carolina,how ever the Founders,and Owners have sold there Business in the past years! I do know one positive,the dedication the J&H Machine Tools Professional Staff has always delivered it,s obligation,and there "WORD"! For any one who reads this,and is in market for the very highest quality in Machine Tools are with out doubt the highest quality ,with the technology to support there Machine Groups.Thank you for your time,and may God Bless.

    Who took your jobs? on what planet would you machine an impeller manually? that'd take weeks. Cnc machining has changed engineering, It's created different jobs, hardly taken any away though. Unless you're an unskilled production line worker. Even then you can more than likely get a job as an operator in a high production machine shop pressing the big green button and deburring parts.

    Zog, Just take a look at the product offering of both companies and talk to the OEM's to see what they use before you carry on with your assumptions. Mori literally does not even BUILD a machine that can handle large 5-Axis work with true positioning within microns. Maybe if you throw DMG into the game; but they are not a good heavy-milling machine; and it is not a Mori Seiki. Again....LARGE PARTS.....AEROSPACE ! ....Think Mitsui Seiki.

    wouldn't it be faster and easier to machine a propeller from foam/wax and then cast it ?

    • @MadMetalShop
      @MadMetalShop 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      that really depends on the application of the part.

    • @zaknefain100
      @zaknefain100 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Faster vs machining it all at one time? Is your labor free once you take the foam/wax off the machine? You still have hours of processing. All that aside, a machined impeller is stronger and will likely have much better balance at high speed.

    • @zoggrog8823
      @zoggrog8823 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don't. I mean Mori Seiki. You are wrong about who wrote the book on trunnion type machines. Stick to a topic you know something about.

    • @geralddobrynski7231
      @geralddobrynski7231 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to do some research yourself Zog. Mitsui Seiki's are a premium machine tool that is built to last twice as many hours as the Mori's that you refer to. Especially in high-alloy applications and low-frequency machining. The machines are built quite differently. I'm not saying the Mori is bad; but it's not a Mitsui Seiki and it does not have the same capabilities. They are a much lighter - duty and production built machine. Not even in the same league. Stick to turning !
