Not much is happening right now due to the pandemic. Hopefully we will be able to safely have pennsic next year. If you haven't yet, check out SCA.org to find your local group!
I believe the youngest to participate in the adult league is 16 with parental approval and such. The youth leagues start at 6 and go up to 17. Practices should be starting up again this year.
There are different target areas and a good strike depends on the force of impact, orientation of the weapon, and perception of the fighter being struck.
Stoner sent me over here... What are the rules for winning the battle? Is it the push the other team to the other end Where they started? Scared to hear from you thank you for sharing and I joined your community ,God bless you Ken.
If I remember right, this battle was unlimited rez with each bridge having a flag in the middle. At various times throughout the battle, the side which holds the flag was recorded to accumulate points. The side with the most points at the end of the time was the victor. Bridges are a meat grinder. Endurance is critical.

Maybe? I didn't fight in the bridges since my knee is still healing. These three are the only bridges that I have recordings of, I assume the battery died.
You are not seeing the strategic level, this view is only showing you the tactical level. There is strategy involved, where to push and where to put which units, but that isn't apparent to the casual viewer when looking at such a small part of the field. Field battles and woods battles have the greatest amount of possible strategy.

So imagine this battle happens this day with covid 19 pandemic. These people will all end up in hospitals in the next few days
People will judge and say that this may be weird, but everyone is so respectful, courteous and genuine - and they're all having a great time!
I so want to be apart of this. New to the sca so have a long way to go both training and gear. But I will get there!

Hell yes
"He put me in a headlock!"... "Shit happens"
I imagine guts and instinct are more important than technical skill in the heat of battle to survive
I was rooting for the team on the left, but by the end I was feeling bad for the one on the right. They pushed far but broke themselves doing so.
That's the problem with pushing hard, if it's not controlled you just die more quickly. The right is suffering from a lack of command I think.
I love this kinda stuff and wish I could be a part of it, screw you COVID and age restrictions!

@@deadextra awesome, maybe in 2022 after exams are over and stuff I could start squiring for someone, if that’s how it works?
@@Alfie209 No, that isn't how it works. Check out sca.org, find your local group, and make contact with the marshal or seneschal.
@@deadextra ok cheers dude!
who decides when someone is out, it seems random. some guys get hit multiple times and others just walk off.

Didn’t the first bridge battle have ballistas?
Maybe? I didn't fight in the bridges since my knee is still healing. These three are the only bridges that I have recordings of, I assume the battery died.
What happens when you are dead
Why is there no strategy

That is why all events are cancelled.
