They've actually danced this song and aju nice in a straight, back to back line with Woozi in front before. You couldn't see a single member behind him. It was amazing. Straight down to the pinky.

Hoshi or Dino, being the main dancers, are not always the center even though they can basically take center everytime. They try to allocate center spotlights to vocal and hiphop units. E.g. a small touch but at the beginning when Joshua sings “like a broken robot”, the choreo follows (robotic movement, him controlling them, shoulder shimmy like they are breaking down) ugh a small detail but just so great

That pre-chorus buildup thing was like woozi’s style in seventeen songs. He produced many songs that have that kind of thing (without you, thanks, home, fallin flower) I kinda like it though it make emotional, musically. When your feeling climbing up to climax and think you going to have big chorus but boom! prechorus then buildup again and finally get a real BIG chorus

I mean there is a reason why Home was the title track of YMMD instead of Getting Closer, because as much as I'm in love with GC as a song and in regards to the choreo, there's just so much emotion that you can feel in every single part of Home. The lyrics, vocals, instrumentals, choreography, MV, everything about it makes you *feel* so much more in comparison to Getting Closer.
Me being the big ass CARAT I am, I think it's completely natural and normal to not like some of their work as much as the general public does, or like certain songs/dances more. Art is so subjective, everybody's taste is different. You could straight up hate one of their work and I'd still like you, as a creator. Really feel uncomfortable with fans (of anything really) who can't accept that their opinion and preference is not the standard for everyone. When I heard "Ready To Love" I was like..hmmmm...not sure (=^= ) but now I can't get it out of my head and love it ╮(︶▽︶)╭ I'd rather hear your honest opinion than see you faking loving everything ;)

Whereas Home is the actual message they want to tell fans, it's a lot more personal and thoughtful and the reason why they chose it as the title track instead of Getting Closer. Home was choreographed with Choi Youngjun, their usual collaborator btw. And sees the use of sign language again as the "roof" move is ksl for "home/house". There's a behind the scene clip where you see Hoshi randomly coming up with the move while listening to Woozi and Bumzu work on the song.

I definitely prefer Home over Getting Closer in terms of dance! idk with Getting Closer it really feels like an ‘idol choreo’ and making it look difficult just for the sake of it, while Home feels way more artistic. it doesn't scream ‘idol choreo’ to me but its just a look of smooth and subtle movements

Or the more prominent one. seventeen also did say that the barrel turn choreo was difficult and it took them awhile not to get dizzy when they dance to it.

You know, I have watched a lot of reactions and dancer reactions to Seventeen pieces but you pointed out something I never thought about with this one in regards to the energy downturn in the bridge which had my little brain buzzing and I wonder if it was intentional in a symbolic way. I.e. you are going about the hassles of your day, you are fighting through but eventually you get tired and worn out and you come "home" and you are rejuvenated and healed per se. I have no idea if that was said anywhere because I'm a newish carat and haven't watched all of the older content behinds and interviews but it's what came to mind specifically when you mentioned it. I really appreciate your artist's brain really looking into the performance and the intent of the larger picture. It helps me get a better perspective on it as well. I'm a new subscriber!

That fake beat drop at the beginning of the chorus (pre chorus? chorus part 1?? bit hard to say for svt songs sometimes lol) got me teary-eyed and solidified my decision to be a carat. Like, I was already casually listening to them before YMMD, but not really *into* them yet until that point. It won't be an exaggeration to say I fell in love a bit there haha. That said, the other OT13 b-side track of this mini album, "Good to Me", is really amazing. It's pretty hard-hitting and leans more on the dark side in genre, but the beat is a lot more chill than Getting Closer and the choreo a combination of subtle and harsh. I think you'll like it a lot.
