The one that you said looks like water droplets is actually representing street lamps. Hoshi mentioned in one of their interview that he got the inspiration for that part when he saw the street lamps were blinking when he was on his way back to the dorm. And the lyrics for that part goes "The path that used to be familiar, it’s now unfamiliar. Is this the path I know? I ask myself". So it matches really well.
The choreographer Hoshi worked with usually was Choi Young Joon and his dance team (Team SAME). For DWC, they incorporated fresh ideas and, yes, Hoshi had to learn more about contemporary for this. That heavy breathing while standing still was part of the choreo. It's a part of the image they were trying to picrture, like tired and lost.
For me their choreo for the song THANKS has the same level of emotional impact as DWC they are both so meaningful and powerful ! I hope you'll react to it as well ! Seventeen has so many incredible choreos, I don't think I'll ever get bored of watching them even if it's been hundred times already :)
For your personal entertainment, I recommend you to watch the switch part version of don't wanna cry. Only Seventeen can make dwc super hilarious to watch lol I watch that everytime I feel sad kkk Also, since you mentioned lyrical jazz/hip hop, I am super curious with your insight to Dino's danceology (he has done many to the lyrical/modren genre).
“Fast pace” was choreographed by hoshi himself since his trainee days it’s amazing you should check it definitely one of the best stages of 2016 I just rewatch for the mirrors effects and the song is also wonderful
I would suggest checking out "Without You" after this. :) It's a side track, but the choreography starts at the end of DWC and the ending pose is the beginning of Clap (the next title).
Hoshi and Choi Young Jun choreographed this way back 2017. 2017 is full of INSAAANE choreos. Crazy in Love and My I next? Then Clap and Heaven (collab of SEVENTEEN and Nuest).
The bridge they make for other members to walk through, Hoshi said he was a street light side their building was flickering and gave him the inspiration for that move. He was asked where he gets inspiration from and he used this as the example for how he gets it from anywhere.
They worked with Choi Young Joon for this as well, he's the one who came up with the "vibrating" choreo on the knees I'm pretty sure. The "bridge" (actually representing blinking street lamps) and entertwining mostly comes from Hoshi, he said he wanted to convey someone tied up in complex emotions hence the twisting and turning. Hoshi also mentioned he researched a lot and watched a lot of contemporary pieces as inspiration. I remember when DWC first came out, it really stood out as a choreo. It was already rare for boygroups to do such a lyrical choreo, and even more such a difficult lyrical one. Usually when bgs went for soft emotional concepts, they also went for "easier" choreos to portray the emotions better (a lot of walking, soft and elegant moves to match the mood etc...) so for Seventeen to go that hard but also perfectly hit the emotional beats of the song was a surprise.
4:18 - 4:20 is the best part for me. I can't stop repeating that part.. the way coups holds his tension and the way woozi reverbs. ugh. it's like a delicious food I have to take bites again and again. That part suit the both of them because they're best with torso movements. Like how the second chorus of Call Call Call suit them both too
Wait idk if anyone has pointed out but at 13:28 the “bridge” they did is supposed to be a road and the members act as street lamps bc in the song lyrics it talks about the road that’s familiar feels unfamiliar. And hoshi got inspiration with that move when he was walkin home at night with earphones on while listening to dwc and scoups’ part came on just as the lamp flickered on and off. (But ur interpretation is also good) Basically all of svt’s choreos relate to the lyrics which is why i found them intriguing coz not a lot of kpop did that before svt
Since you talked about Dino traveling from stage left to stage right, I just have to mention that in Call Call Call, which is one of their most stamina-draining choreography, Woozi actually travelled from the far left to the far right in such a short amount of time
T hat bridge-like choreography, according to Hoshi he was inspired by the Lamp post that is flickering while he was walking on the streets. Thank you for reacting to SVT :)
SVT's choreography has its own profound essence that their songs can vary from soft to hard hitting as long as their message/story was delivered , like how they connect their choreo btw *DWC* to *Without You* until *Clap* . Which is something you can’t see everyday in the Kpop Industry.
HAPPY 6TH ANNIVERSARY, SEVENTEEN! 🎉 Right! This 4 year old song is so iconic that everyone knows! Everything about this is remarkable. The song, choreography, 2x speed vid, synchronization, etc. ^---^ + I agree that they really took advantage of Woozi's height and it looks fascinating. It became one of the highlights. + I've read somewhere that they learned ballet for this particular dance. According to it, they are learning different dances for their choreographies/comebacks. + The water drops are actually a representation of streetlights! It was Hoshi's idea to add it in the choreo as well as the connections/intertwining. He said that their focus is to convey emotions in this dance. + The8 who did tumbling is a b-boy and great at martial arts. + It is usually Performance Unit who work with other choreographers (like Choi Young joon who choreographed several of their songs) Thank you for reacting to SEVENTEEN! 💖
wow i think you are the first reactor i've heard talk about pas de bourree! thank you, i like it when i learn from reactor videos☺ and fun fact, seventeen had studied ballet for a while in preparation for don't wanna cry. also their ceo is also a former ballerino. and for choreography, hoshi participated in choreography with choi young joon (one of the frequent choreographers with seventeen; we consider him part of the seventeen family). CYJ has mentioned it is one of the choreos he is most proud of. also i want to say, pause as much as you want. i like your commentaries and explanations. it helps with learning about the performances on top of further appreciating the performances.
Thank you, I appreciate that! You'll hear me mention some ballet terms here and there. Mostly because I feel that it's easier for me to explain certain moves!
Very random but, jeonghans long hair is back!😂 i'm very excited about it lol. For their newest japanese release jeonghan has long red hair and now its platinum blonde. Its not as long as before but its deff bob length
I know you are going in order between the choreos but since you have already reacted to Dino's Danceology would you watch the Inside Seventeen clips for each one of them? It's just a suggestion. The clips are pretty short since is a mini behind the scenes. If not is okay ☺️. Next choreo would be Crazy in love and My I
Just a heads up. There isn't a music video for it, but they have a choreography that starts where this one finishes. It's called Without You and there is a dance practice for it.
There was the Mnet special video that they filmed on the rooftop. I've always seen that as the unofficial MV. Don't know if that'd get blocked, though. th-cam.com/video/slbymLQxkzo/w-d-xo.html
I really, really hope you react to *Without You* first before going to Clap, because these three songs are connected, and the choreo shows that as well. The ending pose of DWC is the starting pose for Without You, and WY's ending pose is the start of Clap.
Choi young joon (the choreographer) has a video on his channel where he comments a little bit how he approached this choreo: th-cam.com/video/KlrbWwOvbOY/w-d-xo.html
I actually like very much his pauses, rewinds and explanations! It demonstrates his interest in the reaction and allows us to better understand WHY we like the boys so much!

100% carat confirmed!
@@tolkynjan6141 gotta brag bout my boys 😆
Nice catch, thank you for the context! =)
Farthest travel?? Just wait for woozi at call call call dance practice😂
I was thinking the same thing lol. Man travelling miles 😂
And jumping on one foot!!!
that's what i was thinking too!
Man went to one side just to go back to the other on one foot 😂
Yes omg

CYJ is a great mentor! As far as from when I was watching Produce 101. That's great to hear!
S.Coups getting recognition for traveling!!!!! But wait until he see Woozi travel across the stage in Call Call Call. Lmfao
For me their choreo for the song THANKS has the same level of emotional impact as DWC they are both so meaningful and powerful ! I hope you'll react to it as well ! He already did Dino's danceology (many of them in one clip). Great!
You should watch this dance in x2 speed. They dance twice as fast and they nailed it.
“Fast pace” was choreographed by hoshi himself since his trainee days it’s amazing you should check it definitely one of the best stages of 2016 I just rewatch for the mirrors effects and the song is also wonderful

Seventeen getting closer.thanks.fear.fearless
No one kpop groups can beat that kind of synchronization .
Hoshi and Choi Young Jun choreographed this way back 2017.
2017 is full of INSAAANE choreos. Crazy in Love and My I next? Then Clap and Heaven (collab of SEVENTEEN and Nuest).
Is no one gonna comment about how they chose to have their entire chorus on the floor? That is such a flex move
I truly love CYJ for that idea.
SVT choreographies so clean they should start their own floor cleaning company

great timing! happy 6th anniversary seventeen 🎉
i love how you always say "piece" & not a video. yes it is, a piece. a masterpiece.
Haha, normally I'd call this a set actually. But it can still be used piece and set interchangeably! And it is definitely, a masterpiece!
