    The 79 is the fixed signal to simulate the IAT even tho there's not one there with a maf. I get that I was more curious on what I'd have to do to go speed density. Get the kit and plug in a IAT sensor. But i decided to stick with the gm maf but wanna get rid of the translator since I have ecm link. I currently have v2 using the v3 new software latest firmware. I tried doing what you did. Only.difference being I have the translator... but what I did was 0 out the fuel and maf comp to start dialing in the fuel trims like this video but when I did and started the car it started right up nd sounded good but was pegged at 20 on my afr so idk I went back to the adjustments that came with the car and it's back at 14.5 15 afr. So idk I'm only on 1000cc injectors

      Might need some deadtime at idle. If you're on a gm maf, and 2g, you can still use a map sensor and iat to log those values as well. Can see your boost and see how efficient your intercooler is working.

    Okay then if I was going to delete the translator how would I go about the fixed IAT fixed at 79 just hook up a IAT sensor

    • @V8sareslow1
      @V8sareslow1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay, not sure what you mean by fixed 79. 1g ecu doesn't have a pin 79. 2g I believe that's for the diag connector on a 2g but the pinout shows it unused. And you don't have an iat sensor with a maf. Are you trying to add one to monitor air temps? Unsure of your goals here.

    What doesn't make sense. You put in 2150cc hit calculate It automatically set your global and deadtime and you used it... it wasn't running leaned out when you started it up at zeroed out fuel and maf comp but mine with 1000cc is pegged at 20.00 it's odd. I have the adjustments prior to 0 them both out to send you.

      Make sure you don't have exhaust leaks that will skew the wideband readings.

    i just install the ecu to my 97 gst, 950cc injectors,speed density but the car idle so bad the revs go up and down.. can u help me with the tune please

      Might need a biss adjustment and back it out. There's some guys dying remote tunes but I haven't been doing them. Sorry.

    Is air flow per revs important to monitor for cruise or just for idle?

    • @V8sareslow1
      @V8sareslow1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly, but if so, I never have.

    If u can get up with me I'm trying to figure out with my 3.5 gm maf on v2 which im getting upgraded to v3 soon. Why is my maf raw numbers so low like instead of 580 to 600 I'm seeing it at .60 .80 at idle only when I give it gas does it start to go up and still not even close to 600

    • @V8sareslow1
      @V8sareslow1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure which parameter you're referring to when discussing the .60 number. Airflow numbers? If you're using a translator though, you'll be using the 25-50 hz range. Not the 500-600 hz.

    Would I take away or add deadtime to get more stoich

    • @V8sareslow1
      @V8sareslow1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Add deadtime (at idle) to make it richer, remove deadtime to make it leaner. Above 14.7 is leaner. Below 14.7 is richer.

    Can toy run GM MAF + MAP + IAT at the same time?

    • @V8sareslow1
      @V8sareslow1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can.

    • @V8sareslow1
      @V8sareslow1  ปีที่แล้ว

      And to add to that, it's just for logging purposes. Does nothing for your actual tune. But if the maf dies, you can at least easily swap to SD.

      @@V8sareslow1 How can I wire GM MAF to ecmlink? what pins? GM MAF has 3 pins, ground to chasis, 12v and signal, I am wondering to what pin signal should go?

    • @V8sareslow1
      @V8sareslow1  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ElJaviTuning you'll either need a gm translator, or a gm maf cable. No, a cheap cable off ebay will not work. It would have to SPECIFICALLY be an ecmlink cable and I think they quit making them, and I parted my car out and sold mine. Best to locate a translator and wire that in.
      Keeping in mind that with the maf translator, your idle maf hz will be between 25-50. With a cable it'll be around 500ish mark.

      @@V8sareslow1 Ok my question is, If I use a MAF Translator I will be able to change just ignition timing right? because Maf Translator handles fuel

    The maf raw parameter. Yours shows 500-600 but your saying with me using a translator nd your not. I'm gonna see 50-60 not 600

    Scott, I have a new rebuild 98 got and I added ECMLink, but it starts, runs with a rough idle, and cuts off. Have you had a problem like this in the past, and can you help with some type of direction? I am new to ECMLink and a rebuild, so I need some help to keep it running. It actually does something similar when reconnecting the stock Ecu also.

      Scott Laird have you ever seen a dead time of 570 for FIC 850cc? My idle is between 1050-1100 rpm, but the ecmwiki shows it being at a 330. Car does idle and drive, but the a/c bogs when turned on. Help if you can. Thanks for your reply.
