They want to distance themselves from their older products as being the best of the best of the best for professional athletes. So they classify the reason for selling older models as " lifestyle ". Just for them to avoid getting branded as " haha... they have not even made progress in all those years and are still giving people older models as their top of the line- performance shoes". And you can say that. In many cases people will decide to buy those shoes because of nostalgia for example. But there is a HUGE difference between being a lifestyle choice in the end, amongst really specialised models of running shoes and those shoes being "casual". I make a lifestyle- choice if i buy those shoes for running very fast and a lot, because i wanted to have them once and always wanted to try them out for my racing track, for example. I do not choose the cutting edge- technology, but have different reasons than pure performance, too. Which you can call "lifestyle". Still the shoes that i get are FAR from being casual. If i choose to buy a lamborghini diablo with manual transmission because i like the style, although it is slower, then.... guess what..... i do NOT buy a casual car. Not in ANY imaginable way. A WV polo is casual.
