Anybody else notice he cut out a verse, and it's edited right at 1:33 to 1:34.... "the wild dogs cry out in the night, as they grow restless longing for some solitary company" - it's on the dl version- the audience laughs... Maybe that's why someone edit it out.

I don't think he honestly meant this to be a completely honest performance. He does a lot of jokes, parodies and tongue in cheek stuff at concerts and in his songs sometimes, especially in covers. If you listen to how he enunciates some of the words it's not only a bit over the top but putting emphasis on certain syllables in a 'funny' way. Like 'Kilimanjaro' and 'Serengeti'. It's good Howie, but not a good representation of the song and I don't think he seriously intended it to be.

Apart from totally forgetting the ENTIRE first stanza of verse two (The wild dogs cry out in the night/as they grow restless longing for some solitary company), it's pretty good. Sorry to say that him forgetting that kinda does tick me off, this song means SO much to me... Also not crazy about the final chorus, but it's still a killer cover.

This totally misses the feeling behind the original song. It's nothing more than Howie trying to make a passionate sound with his voice (and failing)...Toto's original actually had a feeling of Africa in it. And the strumming IS pretty crappy...
