- We dive into the latest Battle Group box with our unboxing and review of the long awaited Plastic Mechanicum for Warhammer The Horus Heresy! In this video we check out all the sprues, see how they go together and build them up and paint them to show what they look like in the flesh! Containing a Triatos Armoured Conveyer, 20 Tech Thralls, 6 Thallax and 2 Castellax robots this looks to be another great value box too! We have a full written article with more photos over on www.spruesandbrews.com too
Massive thanks to Games Workshop for sending us over a free review copy to check out on the site!

Never been a fan of 40k admech for some reason but the HH version just seem so much cooler, proper high tech body horror stuff. Love the paint job you did on these!
i lov that you build and paint yours after the unboxing, very nice!
We always try to if we can! Don't feel it's a full review otherwise!
JUST secured my USA Pre-Order, My FIRST ARMY EVER
You'll have great fun working on them!!
I’m really pleased I’ve only purchased 6 Forgeworld thallax. With this box I can rationalize spending more money on mechanicum again. Thanks for the review
Yeah its a great set and I'm looking forward to the individual kits following!
I swore id never collect Mechanicum while they were in resin.
DAMN YOU GW!
Do it!!! They are ace models!
@SpruesAndBrews The Thallaxi alone are worth getting invested. Even if just as Allies to my Iron Warriors.
Those Thralls ARE a modeller's model 😂😂 l thoroughly enjoyed building mine and have more to do 😊 Really enjoyed your video, thank you.
Haha indeed!! As much effort they took building, I did end up picking up another box haha!
I've avoided HH because with 40k space marine, death guard and CSM armies I don't need any more power armour in my life. This box may just tempt me
They are deffo the most fun looking faction in heresy!!
Great paint scheme, well done. Hopefully you'll do a "how to paint" video on these miniatures in the very near future.
the resin castellax bolt cannon feed was a nightmare to bend into place. So looking forward to the plastic!
So far the box set has been fun, built some conveyers and they weren’t bad to build at all, I found the spartan to be an irritating kit, this was a dream
Great vid, love the paint job. Any chance of a tutorial on it?
Thanks! Yeah as soon as I get my hands on more kits I'll put together a painting guide!
What paints did you use for the tracks? Also love the paint scheme
Hey i love the scheme ! Which paints have u used ? what's the name of the mechanicum faction using it please ? D:
I picked mine up a couple of weeks ago and my only complaint is that the box didn't include an HQ option.
Looks great
13 pieces per 5pt Tech-thrall model is pushing it a bit alright 😅
More parts means more detail when it comes to plastic.
It's just one of the downsides to it over resin. The resin ones are only 2 pieces, same as solar aux riflemen.
Plastic or resin, I'd rather more detail rather than simple easy-to-build models.
Beautiful box. Ordered 2 myself. Very disappointing about the Castellax only having a single Multi-melta and Darkfire cannon. The two weapons worth taking and you have to pay a tax of buying extra to get a full squad. May I ask how you painted the color scheme?
How do the Thallax and Castellax compare to the resin versions size wise?
No Irad for the Thallax and no Mitre Locks for the Thralls... why do these plastic and not give every option?
Cool 👍
Hugely tempted by the robots. Absolutely not interested in the thralls nor the tank
Do you have any of your old resin minis to compare it to?
I only have resin ursarax, but they seem to be in scale, so I reckon very close to the resin ones
Is there a reason why there are no rules for using Skitarii in 30k? Im 95% sure that they were a thing during and before the horus heresy
So there are rules in the Titan Legions list, which you can easily use alongside your Mechanicum army - the Titan Guard units now have an option to use loadouts from the standard Skitarii kit
@@SpruesAndBrews Interesting.
They added a bunch of mechanicum themed upgrades and abilities for the militia and cults list for 30k
❤️🤘🔥
Beep! Boop!
How on earth are you saying Automata so wrongly? O.o
It's a unique Martian pronunciation
