I have enjoyed watching 999 over the years when it was featured on BBC1. I think Ken should be awarded in this reconstruction especially for someone like him because of his bravery
You’ve every right to be proud of your Uncle Ken! I would hope he got a commendation at the very least, but it doesn’t sound like he even got that?? Disgraceful if that’s the case. What he did was unbelievable, and as one of the fire officers said, way beyond the call of duty. But he seems like such a down to earth, unassuming fella that I expect he’s carried on in his life since making a difference and helping people with no fuss whatsoever 😊. Cheers to Ken and all of the North Yorkshire firefighters and police involved with this incident 🍻

Wow. Having been present when an idiot poured gasoline on a campfire, because the wood was wet and not lighting fast enough, causing a huge blast of flame, (which not only killed but blew apart the idiot), I have been afraid of big fires. I can't imagine the courage and devotion to duty of those men who went in knowing that the tanks could blow at any minute turning them into charcoal dust instantly. I respect FF's to the max and am extremely grateful knowing that they will come and deal with any kind of fire especially when people are at risk.

use to watch this when i was a boy round 11years old now 34 wish i became a fireman or police officer like my dad was but i went down the wrong road messing about with mates and cars... only now i look back now older and realise should took things more seriously...

No one died, but Jaffa got scarred for life after a fiery gas cylinder exploded near the appliance
