Cots imo are the way to go.

Good job on the review. I recently purchased a metal twin frame that is 18 inches high that folds in half and I’m still using the cheapest twin air mattress you can get from Walmart. It had never leaked down. I sleep great on it too. You are totally correct on air mattresses in the cold weather. Bad idea, freezing cold to sleep on. The one time the wife has ever went camping, we bought a 100 folding queen bed frame and put memory foam topper on it. Worked but it sank down on both sides so it was uncomfortable.

Great comparison Tony, that Teton looks amazing, as long as you can fit it. That's what she said, LOL. Couldn't help myself. Anyway, I like that you showed these compacted too and showed the measurements.

We just returned the Teton XXL. It was bigger than our couch! The pad on it was very comfortable. The only reason we returned it is because we wouldn't be able to put 4 of them in our 8 person tent, it would have been super comfy though! Highly recommend!

one of the thing I always try and warn people of.. It is Huge. Takes up half of our gazelle tent.

I’m smiling as I think of o my experience. We got 2 XXL’s, sold one to a friend, and bought the adventurer for myself. My adult son is in constant pain and needs to rest alt, so I actually decided to get a larger tent instead of a different cot. Otherwise, I think I would have done what you did.
I want to take him camping and this is much cheaper than a camper. (Though I admit that would be nicer)

The issue with the teton is the pad itself and setup like you mentioned. The pad is too squishy. If it was denser, it woouldnt be too bad. But i do recommend having either that pad or another on it. Makes it 100% more comfortable.

My pad I actually think is to firm.

It's really nice if you have the room, and the budget. We caught it on sale

We had one air mattress that had an automatic pump in it and kept it pumped up all the time. It was silent and it was awesome... it eventually succumbed to the not holding air thing!! I was sad! We haven't used them since!

I have seen those. Always wondered if the pump would wake ya up in the middle of the night

Hello Tony, I purchased the Coleman Military Cot. It is only 75 inches long which is perfect for my Gazelle T3X. It is so hard to put together. I will be looking for another cot.

Those smartcomforts are really nice if they will fit in your car. They dont fold down very small. But set up in no time.

Thanks for the great video. Leaning towards the Coleman comfort is it wide enough? Im 6’ 200 lbs . Also ..Is the Teton comfortable enough without buying the $100 pad ?

I would take the smart comfort over the Teton without the pad. They are also way easier to set up. The pads really make a huge difference on both. But are included with the coleman cots.
