I've watched these reactions so many times and never get tired of it! They are amazing together! True pros to do in one take, live! Flawless. And I did read its a old bank in LA. Beautiful building. And when the choir joins in....chills! Great reaction!!!
It was very artistic and difficult. One camera, one take. Justin could have made it easy. And all those people stayed quiet. Yet you could hear the elevators closing. As you can see, there was a movie director. A True work of art. Props to Justin and Chris.
That had to have been almost magical to be a part of, the amazing energy and ambiance of it. All the voices saying something profound with only a few lines repeated.
I was dismissive of JT for a long time because his career began in a boy band, but there's no denying that the dude has talent. Most of his music isn't to my taste, but even when it's a song I personally don't enjoy I'm still impressed by him both musically and as a showman. And when he dies do something I like stylistically, like both of these that you've reacted to, he just blows me away.
I especially love the short conversation between Justin and Chris at the very end. Chris: "Holy S&%@!" (Apparently said because he was so shocked they did it in one take on the first try.) Justin: "That's normally a good response." Chris: *Laughs* Justin: *Laughs* "I love this guy." Chris: *Laughs again*
Thank you, Pat, for doing this one. Not real sure why it took so long for this reaction to come up on my radar. FYI, when I first listened to this I heard so many things that made me think it was live. Not just the video but the music, you can hear Justin humming, putting his guitar on, the elevator closing, Chris's voice coming in stronger on the elevator, the echo of the choir's voices. I went looking for answers and found an article done with the sound producers for this video, it was quite extensive & from what I read, this is all live. The producers had one hell of a time keeping the brass, drums, high hat and other instruments from echoing all over everything else. They talked about all the wireless mikes and other things needed to do this in this building. They actually did the entire thing three times, at different times of the day so they could chose which one they liked best for the lighting. They chose the one they did in the evening. It is just so amazing to me to see a video like this without all the damn lip syncing & music being pumped into the space. You might like to take a read of the article and see if you come to the same conclusion I did. Have a great week, Pat!
I love this video, and I've watched it probably 20 times. I still get a huge grin on my face. The building, the song, the harmonies, all in one take? Jeez...amazing. Thank you for your great reaction.
It was emotional because EVERYTHING was perfect! The location, the filming, the musicians the singers and on top of it all, the Chris and the Justin! Goosies for days! Yes, they do compliment each other. Love their colabs!
Awww, bless your heart! They make me emotional too, lol. I've watched a few of your reaction videos to Chris and I love them... so genuine. I just had to tell you, I always felt the same about Justin... He was Mr. Flaky boy band to me, until I had to volunteer at a couple of his concerts about 10 years ago. He blew my mind. He's just one of those musical prodigies that you can't help but give credit to because he is so ridiculously talented. He was born/raised right outside of Memphis, right down the road from where I was, a few months before me, but I never saw the "Memphis Soul" in him until I heard him live in concert. I live right outside Nashville now and knew of Chris Stapleton, as a songwriter. But then I heard him sing... and my reaction was similar to yours, lol. Since then I've volunteered at probably 10 different concerts of his and every time, it just gets better. The energy is indescribable. I was actually working the night they preformed at the CMA's together the first time. I'll never forget it. They both have homes not too far outside of Nashville, kinda close to each other, and I've heard they've gotten together to play many times. There's a few videos on youtube of them playing together at a small, local music festive here, just search for Justin Timberlake Chris Stapleton Pilgrimage Festival. This is one of my favorites th-cam.com/video/XzfrgnYxtEQ/w-d-xo.html
Chris Stapleton don't need the choir in the background he is vocally the best I've ever heard and I go way back and forth he just has lungs like no one else Henry motion
The video was filmed as one take at the Bradbury Building in Los Angeles- famous for its appearance in the 1982 cult classic Blade Runner. The crew included 17 musicians and a 60-person choir.
Awesome review this morning!! I love your joy! Did you see both songs that they did with Morgan on the recent CMA'S where they do two songs as a mini medley, Tennessee Whiskey and I Can't Drink You Away? Fantastic!! That one blew my mind!! Have a lovely day!! Miss Blue😥
Excellent reaction.I like when the crowd at the end exploded in cheer because it was done in one take. Please react to Chris Stapleton singing "Another Try".It's an audio version, didn't see a video version,Sorry. It's a very beautiful song -thanks.
What seems like an odd pairing of artists it just works so WELL! They haven't disappointed me yet with their collaborations. Great reaction! I was geeking out on the building as well! 😂
Brilliant Camara work💥💓 JT production ability 💚 Choir 💯 and the spice of CS... Well, no wonder you emotional. There's a live version which is no less amazing
I definitely recommend roy Buchanan's version of hey joe live. Its one of the most emotional and incredibly guitar performances ever. He was sadly mostly forgotten as he died not long after he started to make a name for himself when he died from committing suicide. However anyone who loves blues should check that video out it will seriously propel you into another dimension.
Hi again. I just discovered your channel and have spent last night and today watching many of your videos of some of my favourite artists. Your reactions are fantastic. You should check out JT and Chris S performing on the 2018 Brit Music Awards. It starts out with JT performing “Midnight Summer Jam” from his Man of the Woods album and then moves into “Say Something” with Chris. This was my introduction to Chris Stapleton and after seeing him on the video, I went looking for everything the man has ever done; he is brilliant. Perfection is always emotional. If you haven’t listen to Sugarland song Stay is perfection. I found it accidentally and at that time that was my life. Talk about emotional.
Heartfelt reaction....been there. Love seeing your emotion show. Good music transcends genre. Have you ever listened to classical Chinese music? Indian ragas? Gamelan?
Awesome reaction as always my friend. One of my favorite all time voice is Martina McBride. Watch WITH A BROKEN WING. You won't be sorry. Keep up the great reactions!!
This video was filmed in The Bradbury Building in Los Angeles which has also made an appearance in several buildings- it’s just beautiful. Director said they waited for a specific time of twilight so they would get the right color blue showing through the glass ceiling so it was critical they get it first time around or they would lose the light if they had to redo it. www.laconservancy.org/locations/bradbury-building
You’re thinking of A Geat Big World with Christina Aguilera. Great one to react to as well. Also pentatonix has a version of say something (Aguileras version). Awesome cover. Chris could sing a list of zip codes and make it sound good. 👍👍👍
Love your sincere reactions! The other song you might be trying to think of is Say Something by A Great Big World featuring Christina Aguilera? Heartbreaking song. Glad I subbed. If you like Chris's voice wait til you get to my request of Louisiana born Marc Brousard.I d start with his video "Home" as he was only 16 or 17 when he did that. Have a great day. Or evening? 😊I should look up the time difference. Im in Central Standard Time (Nebraska) US.
Great reaction!! Such a cool video! Do you do reactions on fan based videos? The type that is filmed at a convention or something similar? If so I have a couple of suggestions for you of an actor who sings really beautifully!! I think you’d enjoy these videos and the music!!
Hi from cold & snowy Wisconsin. Say Something is a song by A Great Big World featuring Christina Aguilera. A very sad song but it hits you in the feels. You could react to that & a live performance of a song by Yebba called My Mind/Sofar NYC. Yebba is another amazing singer that will give you chills because you feel the pain in her performance.

Nice thing about Chris is he needs no synthesized backup. He is just raw talent. Great stage live performances because of it! You could stop him coming out of a store and hand him a guitar and he can give you a million dollar performance. lol
Just sub’d because of your SRV journey. Love to go through videos from oldest to newest. I noticed you have a lot of gaming in your videos. You are a great music reactor and your song choices are great. Have you thought of separating the music to its own?
i think they should have just showed the studio session where they did it one take instead of this elaborate and somewhat confusing video. since that was the 'selling point' of watching it in the first place. its a good song and i like it just was hoping for the one take in the video lol
Try Ryan Bingham he has a great voice different then Stapleton but just as good I think. Sounds like he’s singing threw a broken whiskey bottle great soulful sound.

Justin's talent is insane. His band is phenomenal and really makes a great song our of this world.
That had to have been almost magical to be a part of, the amazing energy and ambiance of it. All the voices saying something profound with only a few lines repeated.
Man they kill it together!

Probably my fave part besides when Chris comes in.

Found this in Billboard: unveiled their epic "Say Something" video, filmed in one continuous shot in Los Angeles' ornate Bradbury Building.
One of my favorite songs, awesome as always
These two also have a few live versions that are worth a watch.
your right the harmonies are off the chart, as well as the acoustics

Great reaction -- the building they filmed AND recorded this in is where the original "Blade Runner" movie was filmed decades ago.
Perfection is always emotional. If you haven’t listen to Sugarland song Stay is perfection. I found it accidentally and at that time that was my life. Talk about emotional.
Damn good song, and an outstanding review. Really like watching your reviews.
