A punch to the balls and/or solar plexus will take the fight out of most guys. If I hit a guy in the solar plexus and balls without any effect I'd pass out from shock.
A hard punch to the solar plexus makes your entire body go numb. It's like it sucks your breath, energy and soul out. Holy God. Needless to say, if they can't breathe - fight over.

Bas is fighting people attacking him and the reason he was locked up is because one of those attackers was a cop. If a cop wants to drive a truck, do plumbing, electrician work, or general contracting off duty then that is OK, but not security.

I lean more towards alcohol fueled badasses wanting too beat there chest and show there asses. Bars dont want law suits nor do they hire hotheads. Plus alot of bouncers have a back ground in one or more martial arts and our regular guys doing there job.

So I get that you were a bouncer and that's supposed to give you some kind of unique insight but in my experience and personal opinion you're wrong. I'd say it's more like 85-90% and there are establishments that really don't give a fuck about litigation. There's a venue in Tampa called The Orpheum. It's well known for having hyperbolic security. I went there to see Exodus which are a hyper violent thrash band whose first album has a song called A Lesson In Violence. I'd of course heard stories but when I got there I got to see for myself. The security would just randomly pick people that were moshing out and grab them and just start wailing on them as they dragged them outside. It's probably the only metal show I ever went to where I actively chose not to mosh as a result. In my experience bar hopping and going to different venues it's about one in ten. Every one in ten places has real asshole security that just look for people to start shit with. Of course that could just be a Florida thing.

Squeeze his balls, gouge his eyes, strike his throat, bite him, etc...There are no refs or rules in life or death h2h combat.
That's some straight up military training. If you're out of ammo, and find yourself in h2h combat, charge him, grab his balls, gouge his eyes out with your thumbs, then stab him through the brain with your side knife, and go on kill the next one...

An i can tell you that bouncers can indeed be ( looking for it) we had a fella working for us a long while back . Anyway great guy an he wasn't a tough guy but he was a Judo player an had major competition experience ( internationally at one point) anyway he was built like a bull an strong as one to boot. We eventually just scheduled him down to one shift a week because during a summer stretch he must have rag dolled an or dumped half a dozen dudes in a week. I personally seen him throw a guy basically on his head. Like out cold like in shock sort of thing. No body wanted to lock up with this guy . Hes lucky he didn't permanently injure someone. Granted he was technically doing his job on our private property. An camaras don't lie. Needless to say bouncers come in all shapes an sizes an skill levels just like the folks that come in to hang out. I can definitely relate both ways to Bas . Great stuff!

I used to go out to bars and clubs 3 times a week during the 2001 thru 2008. I got out of HS and went wild.
I’ve seen these kind of bouncers twice in the US. Both times were at smaller clubs where the bouncers looked at certain guys as a possible center of attention for the women they were used to attracting.
1 of which was really bad and it seemed like the police force was co-signing the bs. Even walked in to see a bouncer beating a guy down in the bathroom where there are no cameras…pummeling him on the ground. Telling the bouncer to “back off, the guy was done” caused a cascading chain of events leading up to instigations and the police waiting outside in case we did something.

No thanks. I'll pass. Fighting Bas would be the definition of a total f*cking nightmare. 😂
I'd only fight him if I didn't have any other options.

He's the MMA Goat. Can't see why folks skip his name when it comes to the subject. It ain't Fedor. It ain't Jones. It ain't Silva. It's Bas Ruten beyond any shadow of doubt.

    • @johnm3907
      @johnm3907 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Because he's not. He was a pioneer but that's it, you have to be subjective. He was a good kickboxer, but he was fighting in pancrase that had limited rules. He was the only good kickboxer there so when he learned basic subs he was great there. Then he went to full mma rules in the ufc and was being battered by kosaka until 2 bad stand ups by his friend John Mccarthy, then the decision against randleman. The ufc brought him in to be the face of the company so helped him as much as they could. He wouldn't have cut with mma rules he had awful takedown defense and looked lost on the ground vs kosaka. He's a great personality and that's why people still remember him.

all your old memories are "reconstructed", it's psychologically known. When memory is fresh, you actually remember, but over time we remember certain bits we have to make sense of to make it a coherent story. It's even worse when it's a stressful stituation because we remember less when our nervous system is activated. So in this case, he probably remembers people looking for trouble, eye poke - and he constructed the rest for a story, a lot of it through his own storytelling in the past. This is not dishonesty or anything but how the brain works.

Some bars have a lot of fights breaking out but if you’re not looking for that there’s even more bars that are always nice. Back in the day we went to “De Linde” in Groesbeek and from the 4 times we went there we got into a fight all 4 times. One time me and a buddy of mine got into a fight with 3 other dudes and we messed them up so badly. Other friends who saw them after said they looked like they were playing in a horror movie or something😂 we were covered in blood and worst of all i got brand new suède shoes that were also covered in blood. Another time we got into a fight because some guys girl started talking to my buddy and he didn’t like that and another time I got into a fight with a bouncer. We never went back there because we don’t go out to fight and I’m glad we didn’t go back there because a guy I knew got stabbed to death and the bar closed shortly after.

If you knowingly harASS an MMA fighter at a bar, then they have the legal right to kick your ass while we get to watch.

I was a bouncer at a SoCal beach bar years ago. If I ran into Bas and had to kick him out...I would tell the other bouncers to back off and I got this. Then I would smile and tell Bas it's an honor to meet him and I'd rather he hug me than hit me and win him over with my smile.
