The more of these I hear the more they sound contrived, or maybe the motivations are always the same. From my own experience you probably still don’t know everything. She wasn’t lonely she was bored and this was exciting to her. She knew you were dependable and trusted her so that made it lower risk. She didn’t think, she felt and women are loyal to their feelings not to their commitments. If you stay with her your relationship will be different. Even if she got it out of her system you will never fully trust her again!

Everyone has a choice to leave a marriage if they are bored ,unhappy, unfullifilled . But projecting your faults on somebody you have been married too for 40 years is really hitting below the belt so to speak. You want it all! Life does not work that way! Have your fun and in a few short years you can sit on your front porch and remininse of your past exploits. But there wont be a man beside you at night or the morning. No animal can replace human companionship. You will truly be alone! Who will you blame now? Look in the mirror! You only blame yourself! Plain and simple!
