**Snipes a guy through the head**
"Command, we've got some joker pulling pranks down here"
**sees you shoot someone**
"Hey, quit goofing around, you could hurt someone!"
"Who could have sniped this poor guy?"
**Walks past him wearing a sniper rifle**
"Oh, Pardon me, fine sir"
"Hey, does anyone even know this guy?"
* pulls out gun accidentally *
"PUT DOWN THE GUN AND NO ONE GETS HURT!!!!
* puts down gun*
"ALRIGHT, THAT'S IT"
*guard opens fire*
Gabe Grant mobile needs a thumbs up option.
Or I'm too retarded to find the thumbs up button for this comment.
"Leg it for the exit while hooting like Daffy Duck" That's an accurate description of most mission kills in the Assassin's Creed series.
Agent 47's unchanging facial expression was priceless.
Especially with the Daffy Duck part.
Well, he's the only person at his workplace, apparently, that takes his job so seriously, he fights back the contortions of his "Most Generic Face in humanity." Not hating onnthe guy, in fact it helps his jobs moreso, but the dude's face is more generic than a common Lego figure's face.
That’s likely the point. If you’re a good assassin, you’ll want to be generic and be able to blend in.
Pretty much the same thing ingame. That's one of his main character traits, if you didn't realize that already...
F u
"Kill a bloke for these reasons" - if you're an assassin, shouldn't that list comprise solely of "You'll get paid" and "It'll make you feel better about not having the love of your replacement father figure"?
Hitman's main point of cowardice, IMO. Even if the designers feel they need an overarching plot, they'd likely have better luck with one that reels at how its "hero" never stops being a greedy psychopath than with all the jumbled conspiracy-theory melodrama.
You're not playing "an assassin", you're not a freelancer gun for hire. You're specifically playing Agent 47, who is working specifically for the ICA.
@@MegaZeta that wouldn't be agent 47 then, though
You can switch off the hints. Makes the game a lot better in my opinion. Makes you feel more smug too, sending a chandelier crashing down on some twat and getting a nice bonus.
You can't turn off all the NPC's talking about the hints tho.
@@guyincognito7188 that’s the whole point lmao, you can still hear them talk so you can figure out these special ways to kill them but without the questmark telling exaxtly where to find everything you need to complete that kill which means you either have to explore like crazy or find a new inventive way to make use of the hint you overheard
@@taxicorky I'll be honest, i forget the context of this, but I was probably referring to Diana never shutting up about obvious shit over your radio. Not the NPCs in the level talking about stuff, Diana commenting on it and making it super obnoxious and obvious and treating you like a child.
cos, that, you can't turn off without mods. and, those mods get re-broken every single time IOI puts out even the most minor of patches :(
@@guyincognito7188 I mean how else would one figure something out without just random trial and error? I’d feel more clever figuring it out based on something I hear than just guessing
Hitman (2016): one of the greatest games to come out in the past decade*.
*If you don't mind the DRM, elusive targets, and the fact that progress isn't saved when offline.
Nathan Cassidy whats wrong with the elusive targets? (I havent played them yet)
TheCoenkampioen They are pretty much one-time targets you can only do once. And I mean, ONCE as in "You can never do them again. EVER."
A good way to get people to come back over the year mind you, but it still sucks.
u dont get them after the time limit. ever. but thats the good thing about them :)
The elusive targets are bad for someone like me who don't have time to play it and the moment. I would also prefer to wait for a sale. I see it as anti consumer that you can never play them again, and if you don't have time to play them now, you will never be able to.
I suspect them to sell the elusive targets as DLC at some point.
I like the Elusive Target mode, actually. It would be shitty if assassinating them actually gave unique rewards that you'd never be able to unlock otherwise, but it doesn't. There are rewards for Elusive Targets, but they're just awarded for assassinating a set number of them, rather than any specific ones, so I think that's fine.
One of the funniiest Zero Punctuation's I have seen so far. Couldn't stop laughing at the "Speak up a bit, the waiter is being strangled bit". Keep on going Yahtzee!
Damn, it's a shame this game wasn't more of a hit, man.
I'll see myself out

Hi
Hi 👋🏼 I just want my love 😍 is your birthday 🎁 I wanna I like you
Did you bring lava lamp?
Lucy Spice you alright?
Hitman is the hittiest Hitman that ever hit.
It was quite a hit
man
Sena Kashiwazaki i really lost interest by the middle of season 2 the whole sena crying and running away got really annoying and the whole love triangle thing in general was poorly done in my opinion
You could say,
it *HIT* the mark
Hitman: Manhitting
, man
That last scene caught me off guard.
god I love his Agent 47 drawing being thrown into situations
This episodic shit is like selling ingredients for a dinner at a RESTAURANT
You wait, there'll be some hipster cafe in Brooklyn/Berkeley/Shoreditch/Tokyo that markets "DIY meals" or "IKEA dining experiences" or "edible Lego" or something. I also remember a comedian years ago joking about the idea of a "holistic" sandwich stand where if you want a ham sandwich, they give you a gun and tell you to go into the woods and shoot a pig.
Superb analogy.
I disagree. your example is more beffiting of something like the creation kit from bethesda, or better yet, Minecraft. mainly because you are tasked with making your own fun with the tools/ingredients provided.
i think that Hitman's episodic release is more like a multi course meal in which new food items are brought out one after another. However, whether you like the classic buffet style of the multi course meal is another, more subjective, matter.
Anyways, thanks for readin'.
That analogy makes no fucking sense if you think about it
Think it is more akin to going to a buffet but having only one dish to start with and then having to wait a month between getting new dishes.

I've been binging all these videos and that's the joke that really got me
I think this episode was by far one of the funniest and best Yahtzee ever made... I think it's the Hitman's grudging stare throughout the whole thing that does it.
I wonder if he did the escalations or elusive targets? I really enjoyed how they change things up, between that and the elusive targets Hitman is a game I keep finding myself coming back to. I hope that square enix keeps updating this game so far they have been killing it.
With the amount of harping about the hand-holding he did I don't think he found the options menu either. Pretty much every assist can be turned off.
it took me a while to realize how many missions there actually are, i completely ignored all escalation missions for a while and was surprised was genuinely surprised when i found them.
Yeah I did that too when I first started. I just assumed that they would just be kill conditions on npcs in the level, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they actually modified the levels.
you could always just play on professional if you think the game is too easy
You mean the things he mentioned in the video? Dunno.
It's not JUST called Hitman, it's Hitman: No Subtitle! Do your homework Yahtzee!
umm actually :/ it's "Hitman (heurgh) No Subtitle! gosh
OxBox fan I take it?
Shut yuur mooooooooo
Come to think of it, the first Hitman was called Hitman: Codename 47 so yeah, it will make sense on the filing systems
4:57 - Boy. that ending sequence was pretty damn dark.
Hitman, Doom, and Tomb Raider. Meanwhile, people are still complaining about the naming system of games like Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 ReMix HD VR LMNOP Bigger Harder Uncircumcised Still Not Kingdom Hearts 3 Super Mega Sea Salty Collection Spartan Remastered Who Is Xion Heart Light Dark Heart Dark Bark Edition.
gagejoseph91
I maintain that it actually works for hitman because they've never had a game called "hitman" before. They always have subtitles, usually not numbered.
WeNeedALadder It's still damn confusing.
This Kingdom Hearts naming scheme is arbitrary, but it does provide an open-cut mine view of the developers intent, a rich mental body of ore ripe for excavation & transportation
The single greatest comment I've ever read.
My biggest problem with Kingdom Hearts naming is that on the box, 2.8 is written as II.8
YOU CAN'T HAVE ROMAN *AND* ARABIC NUMERALS IN THE SAME NUMBER!
"Hey, who's this bloke messing with my fly?"
I do enjoy the little touches, such as him pausing and counting on Mic what number Hitman this was.
My years of watching ZP videos tells me Yahtzee's view on this game was: Not bad, but not great.
Can I just say that Yahtzee's design for Agent 47 is absolutely hysterical
k the episodic nature works when you get that its a study of one night in one environment, and all of the small stories that can be going on in that night. by doing the main missions and side assassinations, you learn all of the intricacies of this one environment in both the level and the character. even the small ones add up to the big picture. like the journalist who wants to interview the main target in the first level, and the side mission where theres a woman who needs to leave the country fast because she has dirt on the other target etc etc. when you really look at all the detail in the levels, its absolutely worth the money and the episodic nature suits it really well
The daffy duck line had me in stitches
I came, I liked, I left. To watch it later.
Criticas QLS so you came too?
+DoHickey Everybody came.
Watch it later? It came out last week.
Maybe on Escapist, but not TH-cam...
Criticas QLS embedding is disabled. what an a-hole.
Exactly.
I'm also torn on the breadcrumb hints, they are a good way to definitely reach the target without getting spotted, but also are very easy and not rewarding. Also very odd is, when you pick up a piece of opportunity somewhere along the middle: here lies the drink recipe, but who wants it? how to use it? find the 2 guys chatting about it somewhere on the map. I end up just killing everyone, so no one can spot me.
Translation: not too bad; but way too short.
It's not even that short though.
Not too hard not too soft.
Boys 2 Men abc bbd
Inaccurate translation
One of the most well-written episodes in a while.
I would often do something like the third option for how you could take out a target. Every game where I try to be stealthy and it goes wrong I throw something and run around hooting like daffy duck.
Always sure to make me laugh, thank you yahtzee.
Loved this episode in particular. Nicely done.
This was one of your best videos in recent years, Ben. "47's" face made it perfect
I love the grumpy face on this zero punctuation Hitman character.
you finally turned the music volume down. thank you
scavenger hunts...that is really the perfect way to describe this game. after doing everything in the Paris mission, I was like "I'm never doing this again"
Best thing to do if you're considering HITMAN is to disable the "Opportunities" hints in the settings. Having to eavesdrop on NPCs for hints feels a lot more organic when you have to be close enough to actually listen to them, remember what they say, and choose to act on it. With all the hints enabled, the criticisms in the video are 100% valid, and the game is reduced in large part to choosing which of the options you want to be railroaded down.
If you enjoyed previous Hitman experiences though, it's a pretty good game to pick up on sale.
The ice cream man lines were gold 😂😂😂
I hope when Hitman 2 comes out Yahtzee gets a chance to review it.
1:41 actually made me laugh pretty hard out loud.
loved it. This is definitely one of Yahtzee's best videos.
0:40 Seeing as the first Hitman game was "Hitman: Codename 47", and the only game they've made with a sequel number in the title was Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, they kind of managed to avoid the thing you criticize them for. ;-)
2:59
For those looking for the infamous “Cockup Cascade”. You’re welcome.
I thought this instance of episodic release was handled quite well. It works because the replayability is through the roof. As Yahtzee said, you may not like it if you don't enjoy making your way through a checklist, but some of those challenges are very challenging and a lot of fun. I have put a lot of time into this game, and yet I still find new things in every level.
Plus, I think this format works better in fixing bugs and making patches. With every new episode came a list of updates that made the game better. So from start to finish, (I say "finish" lightly because they STILL are releasing bonus content) you got to see and be a part of making the game overall a more enjoyable experience.
Finally, I wish he would have mentioned the Elusive Targets. I firmly believe they have become the quintessential aspect of the entire Hitman franchise. The tension while playing one of them is at an all time high, because the slightest mistake could result in you missing out on any opportunity of killing the target ever again, literally. If you aren't playing Elusive Targets, you are missing out on the best thing about this game, or any Hitman game.
Couldn't agree more! Can't wait for Season 2 now.
Exactly. Nailed it, Cody.
Yo in addition to the jokes I've come to expect and love about Zero Punctuation, this was an awesome review. Actually easy for me to follow for once
Man, that story reminds me of a mission I played in one of the better Hitman games (can't remember which). It takes place on a snowy, mountain-side penthouse during a party. Anyways, long story short, I was found out very early in the mission. Not being a quitter, I tried to complete it anyways. I got cornered in an elevator, so I climbed on top of it. and proceeded to garrote 40-50 guards, before they gave up and I regained stealth.
Castle Douglas gets a mention!! Yaaaaaas #paradise
1:59 the wine in their glasses changes colors, wtf
I feel so special! He used my computer case!
WritingonGames has a few really good videos about why this Hitman format is actually beneficial, and how it really plays into the nature of game that Hitman is. Would recommend.
It would be nice if there was a way to disable all the hints and figure it out for yourself. I'd rather go in blind than deliberately trying to avoid the method the game set-up for me.
***** Sweet, thanks. I might get the game now.
It's possible, you can turn off hints and pretty much play it like it's Blood Money... or something like that
The game has a LOT of options. And all of the handholding can be turned off, making the complaints about them pretty ridiculous.
In the newly added Professional Mode, you actually don't get that anymore...
it sounds ok, but for the last few Hitman games I've hated the fact that if you snipe a target who isn't secluded the guards always know and investigate where the shot came from, even if you use a silencer. It's like they're trying to punish snipers and it ruins the reward of finding that perfect sniping spot. I mean I know the answer is "shoot them when they're alone" but sometimes I like the idea of a very public assassination but I still don't want to be rumbled if I've gone to the effort of hiding somewhere dead good. /rant
Anyone else find themselves constantly giggling at Agent 47's permanent frown?
Glad I waited seven years to finally get the latest one, which includes the previous two campaigns as well. So it's finally a decent length, at least.
Yahtzee you know you can turn the opportunities off and you have to put two and two together from when the waiter says his boss like a certain cocktail and the recipe is in the basement so you have to find it yourself rather than having a damn objective marker on it.
You could also, you know, turn off Opportunity tracking. That's what I did, and enjoyed my experience immensely.
Finally delivered the Aristocrats joke! KEK
I know this is a year old, but I just now got to playing this. I agree that every mission is kind of the same, and it becomes very easy, but I still enjoy the gameplay. And hey, even if all the missions are the same, one good turn deserves another.
That PC master race though. 🏁
People give so much shit to this game for its payment model. But it was the most fun I've had in a long time with a stealth game
"I liked the game because I liked it" isn't an opinion worth sharing
@@MegaZeta I'm not sure what made you think your reply was somehow more worthwhile, honestly.
@@RepublicOfUs no one cares about you think tho
"normaly we put a sock on the door nob..." Oh my God, my sides!
This is the funniest review since Sonic Unleashed
Dirvinator a game has to be just the right sort of disappointing to get the best out of Yahtzee.
Dirvinator what got me was 47 pouting while an imp in a fez played the accordion.
Thank you yathzee, I'll see you within a week.
Great reference to the Aristocrats joke :D
I actually liked the episodic release because it gave me time to figure out a map before moving on with out feeling rushed
The Aristocrats reference! Nice!
This gme is alot better if you turn the opportunity tracking off.
as far as caravan holidays go, Castle Douglas is quite nice
If you liked Blood Money, you'll like this one. They're very much alike, with the exception of a couple gameplay additions left over from Absolution. For example, some people can recognize when you're not who you are dressed as. But it makes sense.
Like, when you're wearing a security uniform, other security guards can recognize that you aren't one of their co-workers, but a waiter (for example) would have no idea who all the security people are, and can't see through your disguise.
I always like to think hitman has the super power of instantly changing clothes, it's alot more interesting if you think it's canon
They need to remake Hitman 2. The game where 47 actually had some bloody personality. There you go, I said it.
I think he has a ton of personality, it is just not shoved up your face and the player actions can also add to that personality. I would like to see Hitman 2 with today's graphics and such but i don't think a remake would be the best solution. Maybe if they started adding some of the favorite missions to this platform? I would love to get back to that hotel mission in Hitman 2, the best hotel mission there is. Honestly i was kinda disappointed about the hotel mission in this new game but it is passable.
That aristocrats joke was amazing
when i got hitman i was so confused as to why after an hour of gameplay it took me back to the main menu and told me to visit the store
I've noticed a trend. He either hates his uncle or "loves" him
Really? I'm a stealth game fanboy and I love Hitman. The slow release was fine- it keeps engagement up. No mention of the Elusive Targets, the brilliant and seemingly endless voice acting, and barely a mention of the player-generated content? I think some of the mechanics are a little rough around the edges, but the game is brilliant.
PS You can and should turn off the hints and hand-holding that's defaulted on.
Yeah I think he really missed the mark on this one.
Seems Yahtzee wrote the script before lunch time again.
I spent hours on Hitman and absolutely do not regret my purchase
dear yatzee17, they make smaller toblerone bars now, i believe in you.
Oh, Guess Where I Put the Funsize Twix! I love that game!
Super Cas Yahtzee's origin story is DARK.
Absolutely brilliant, thank you.
I bet if you scanned the code on the back of 47's head it'd just be a bag of chips.
The description of "Hitman" sounds kind of like what playing Yahtzees "Trilby: The Art Of Theft" felt like :D I did enjoy it though (Trilby)
This is brilliant, Ben. Classic ZP.
For more accuracy the review should've stoped some way close to the end with "Connection to the server was lost" message.
Yahtzee!!! Where's the Resident Evil 7 review?? As a fan of old school survival horror games your opinion matters a lot!!
I can't wait until they do a prequel and decide to call it Hitboy
ok, it's been a significant amount of times i heard yahtzee speak about his uncle.
enough to make me wonder if he has some uncle issues
That Agent 47 face XD
I will buy your mysterious bottles, little monsterman from The Darkness... I will
I don’t really mind playing it over and over. With each run I know the map a little bit better. I use the story missions as a jumping off point. Doing story missions back to back is not the best way to do it. But story mission and then a creative twist usually works out pretty well. The levels require practice. And completeing challenges starts to come natural. And by late game I know the mechanics well enough to go to a new map for the first time and kill the target creativity on the spot on Master difficulty. The slow learning curve is what drags it down I think.
well with the change made to toblerone you might be able to now
Same size, different shape, only in the UK... Anyway, no one can.
Cordite hasn't been used since the late 40's and has its own distinct smell. Why do people insist on saying cordite instead of Gunpowder (even though gunpowder is also incorrect but closer)
I think the entire concept of this game was based on the fact that a lot of people enjoyed just playing the first level of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin over and over again in various different ways.
you get the bread, butter the bread, put lettuce in the bread, ham goes in the bread, get some mayo for the bread and BOOM! you have a ham sandwich
I kinda' loved the release model for this game in particular. Got easily around 20h of gameplay per episode and I highly doubt I would've spent as much time had I played them in one go. I doubt I'd have the motivation to truly learn the levels if I'd a new level just waiting to be played.
I like how in the end Yahtzee just casually stated he was molested by his uncle.
Yes, it's a local custom known as a "joke"
Personally I like the spisodic thing as I get bored of games very quickly - I just bought the first 2 levels in the Steam sale which were really good, but had I paid full price for the 'full game' I probably would've got bored and never bothered with the last few levels at all
Opportunities should be disabled by default. Far too many people complain about how easy the game is while being completely unaware that you can completely turn opportunities off and play the game as it should be played, finding the scripted kills on your own. They should either be off by default or completely removed.

I haven't play this game yet, mostly because I hate the episodic format. but I saw a commercial last night of this game finally being released on disc so I might pick it up now.
