The joys of depreciation means that my friend John was able to purchase this phenomenal 2016 Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe for about a third of the original MSRP. With just over 20k miles, this twin turbo V12 powered luxury coupe is a ridiculous value at $87,000. It has so much technology, luxury, exquisite materials, elegant styling, all backed up with one of the last V12s to be made in this segment. Obviously there will be expensive service and maintenance costs, but it is absolutely worth it. Fun fact, 250k back in 2016 is 310k with today's inflation. Which is NUTS for this car. Makes no sense whatsoever 😂

@@EddieX Do you know what the new S63 E-perf will be MSRP by any chance?? Must be pretty similar 🤦♂ It might feel worthy today, but we all know it'll eventually be 80k in 6-8 years 😂 just mental to think about, good shower thoughts haha
@@BIGGELATO no idea on the new one haha. But I’m sure in 5-7 years time it’ll be half. Just the way it goes! But I shudder to think about service costs for the newer hybrid stuff.
@@EddieX that's the issue with these German cars, they are filled with electric features already and now hybridization just makes more complications, adding sensors, actuators, dozens of control units, just a recipe for depreciation! and ya half price is more likely than tanking to 80k. It might even hold its value at 3/4 for a while since its introduced during this crap economic downfall, never know 🤷♂

This is the sweet spot. Depreciation is almost finished and soon will be appreciating. For 2 simple reasons: 1) V12's are extinct; 2) S-Class Coupes are extinct. It's irreplaceable.
Disagree... The CL tanked even more, which is the same car.. A CL65 is at $12k so it's deff still gonna fall in price
@@kondjanegongo796 That $12k CL65 has 150k miles on it lol. It's due for ABC suspension and V12 engine rebuilding being an older generation. An S65 Coupe is in better condition, has more power and a 7-speed transmission for quicker acceleration and fuel efficiency vs the CL65's 5-speed. Apple CarPlay is also onboard or can be upgraded to. Some even have convertible tops and refrigerators lol. Mercedes improved the big V12 coupe tremendously. S65 Coupe > CL65.
@@LawrenceMarkFearon ABC (hey we want to buy depreciated cars so you gotta fix something, still cheaper than the full price), 13KW more power isnt that much, 7 speed is better but they on 9 speed now so its still behind the curve.. DID YOU JUST MENTION FUEL..... LOL Then stay away from a old V12 engine.... Not everyone uses Apple products.. most of the world and Adults use Android (Im an adult lol)... I have to agree the S65 is a better design and sexy as hell... BUT the CL65 has a IWC Clock in it... IWC Watches cost the better part of $ 10 000.... and CL is a better name... So wer even
@@LawrenceMarkFearon The CL has got a fridge.. even the 1999 model C215 had one... S65 Coupe is different from a S65 Cabrio so thats bringing in a different car... Cabrio cant have a fridge, cramped rear, cant have high end speaker system... Cabrio has a Maybach which is the same exact car as the 65 Cabrio... with stupid rims, stupid trim panels, a badge and paris hiltons bags.. so gay
@@kondjanegongo796 we are not in a debate or competition. The S65 Coupe is more advanced and not the same. 7-speeds is more than enough for 738lbs/ft of torque but better than the CL's 5-speed. Fuel efficiency matters for longer the convenience of driving ranges. A quick price check shows S65's Coupes still priced over US$100k. No CL65 is priced even close. S65's depreciate slower. Even with the same miles. It's just the facts not competition.
I removed the mufflers. Sounds much better without be to loud. I just did brakes and rotors up front and it cost me $500 did the labor myself.
That seems too cheap for even parts
If I had a garage for wrenching when it breaks this would be on my list, just wouldn’t want to pay dealer labor.
Lucky for you guys to have such a depreciation for car like this. In my country its the other way

What is with people saying the 63 will walk the 65.... the 65 is not built for 0-60... and both cars go much futher than 60... Let them run to 200mph and then see what happens. The 63 will be destroyed
Sure. But in many US states, a speeding ticket over 100mph is mandatory jail time. The world that most of us live in is 0-60. DGMW: the 65 is stunning.

@@basketball798 100%... the 65 is too heavy, slow gearbox and rear wheel traction is not enough, but when they grip that thing with its 1000NM torque is preposterous... and shoves you into your seat for exteneded period of time longer than a 63
V12 is so much better than the v8 and on a roll race v12 is faster
S63 is neck an neck with it is what I heard
