Portions of this score were reused in later episodes {i.e. "Number 12 Looks Just Like You", "The Fear"}, and the end of the first "LOST IN SPACE" promo telecast in the late summer of 1965 [9:50-10:01].
The one with Cliff Robertson from the covered wagon to the diner in the future… harmonica is so haunting. Unsung heroes are LA Studio Musicians of the 60’s. Pretty sure that’s Tommy Morgan on harmonica. Dorothy Remson on harp. These cues were recorded at MGM-now Sony Scoring. As a studio musician, I want to play these cues so much. Thanks for sharing this.
Fred Steiner was a great film and t.v. composer. He wrote background music for episodes of STAR TREK and the themes to t.v. classics such as PERRY MASON and THE BULLWINKLE SHOW.
Fantastic! This haunting score, all by itself, is more magical than the episode it accompanied (which says a lot - one of my favorite episodes!). Wonderful for deep writing! Added to my collection with great thanks to TimeandMonotony.
Mr. Christian Horn, one of the hearty breed of men who headed west during a time when there were no concrete highways or the solace of civilization. Mr. Christian Horn, and family and party, heading west, after a brief detour to The Twilight Zone.
Steiner’s decades of haunting at 1:57, with this magnifi_sent_ transition to a cold, unwelcoming, hyper-modern, Bartok future.
Music was always such an important and integral part of this seminal TV series. Thanks for sharing.
I love this soundtrack so much. Well, I pretty much love all of the TZ OST's but this is one of my top favorites.
"That's my Son. That's Chris."

“For there will be highways, and many new things - a whole new land. And you know what charlie? It was people like us. We made it happen.”

@jodiburnett6211 That's really cool, thanks for sharing! I hope you get a chance to play this someday! 😀
I'd forgotten about this being one of Fred Steiner's scores. The harmonica and classical guitar are an excellent choice on the part of the composer.

These Music scores are a gem. Especially this one. Also use this score on The Fear.
That Damn Harp!!! I Love it!!!
