- During UFC 187 fight week, Conor McGregor, who will face UFC champion Jose Aldo at UFC 189 on July 11, discussed a whole host of topics during a media scrum Thursday night. McGregor spoke about the UFC 189 World Tour with Jose Aldo, doing his training camp in Las Vegas, Jon Jones, the historic same sex marriage vote in Ireland and more.

Brien Irving It all depends on how close the fight is, if Conor beats him the way he has beaten everyone else then there will be no reason for a rematch but if it's a close fight it will probably be a rematch.
Petter I agree that's how ot should be but the UFC has set a precedent that when a long standing champ gets beat he gets an automatic rematch no matter what. Would have to be extenuating circumstances like what happened with Barao for Jose not to get an immediate rematch.

He's a confident focused guy. Who has done well in the financial situation having deals with reebok and monster. He's a good unique fighter. If you love mma this is a breath of fresh air and what it needs. If you know anything about the fight game from a fighters point of view a lot can effect a great fighter if you can get into his head and supreme self belief can make a good fighter great.... And also being a unique cocky guy gets him more attention and consequently earns him more money. that's why he trash talks it's his brand. If you don't like him fair enough but you must be on drugs if you deny he's a good fighter and obviously have no clue what you are talking about.

The price is what the market will bear. In France there's little demand for the UFC apparently, where for May/Pac obv the demand was through the roof stateside. Obv the wealthier the country the more they can charge as well.
I'm sure if they could get away with just putting Conor's cards on PPV in Ireland they would. But their TV deal is contingent on those fights being available.

I don't think Aldo is on his way out, I think after he loses he's going to move up with Lightweight and make a good run, but he won't get the title. he announced a few months ago that immediately following the Conor fight he's making a "big" announcement. Aldo is only 28 years old but his body has been put through a lot and he seems really stiff sometimes.
Nick Silva He is 28 but he's been in wars that fighters in their late 30's haven't experienced. His body is tired, and he isn't too happy about UFC and the reebok deal, he said it's bullshit and fighter need to unionize, and Conor praises Dana and Reebok so we all know Dana and UFC executives want Aldo out too.
Maybe he will do some super fights to cash out some last big cheques, maybe Pettis fight etc. But he's already on his way out, and I say that in a respectable way. He deserves to ride into the sunset while he is still young and his mind is in tact
Shawn S lol you basically just reworded my comment but yeah Aldo is the lowest draw for a champion in the men's division, until Conor then it was DJ, he doesn't try to promote himself, he doesn't even speak english. the UFC have been wanted him gone for a while. Aldo is probably standing up for all his teammates also. they can't get a deal because they don't promote themselves.

I used to not like mcgregor. his interviews are golden but i can tell he respects jose aldo. i think aldo wins but mcgregor will be exciting for years to come. if he losses to aldo PLEASE put him in with nate diaz. that would be a very exciting fight. title prediction aldo wins by decision, but he will have some scars, close fight.

William K Not in my view. He's won fights but he hasn't validated himself until he wins that title. There are many non champion fighters with more impressive resumes than Connor (in his division alone) but if he wins that belt than he becomes the undisputed king of the hill. Hopefully it'll be for a long time because his stock will continue to grow unless he gets humiliated by Aldo.
