It’s so sad, my neighbor bought his house right next door to me. His canary palm is lifting his drive way. I could see large white water spots on his garage floor. The roots grew in to our lawn pipes 16 foot long. He said the people who moved out left just in time. It’s the most beautiful Palm tree I have ever seen. I feel so bad for him and he will have to remove tree. I’m sure will cost him a ton of money to remove Carlsbad CA.

Gary can you explain a bit more about the pipe "dip stick". Where exactly is it located, size, perf holes, etc

Hello. I'm in the Sacramento Nor Cal area with 4 Canary Island Palms (guessing 15-20 y.o.) that need relocated. Mine aren't as mature but look like the one here, without the base. In other words I've got the pineapple but nothing below "yet". I posted a craigslist ad last year but no one professional replied, just tree people that wanted to remove them. All 4 need to move, I'll keep 2 and donate the others.

Majestic when this palm is along side other beautiful trees ones mind translates to an elevated dimensions which one cannot translate to your language.

Hopefully some tools from Southern California don't bring up the palm weevil. Then it will be over. Those things find every single one and destroy it. Southern California is dealing with that for a while now and it is ruthless compared to fusarium wilt.

I have two CID palms on our property in the SF Bay Area. Each palm is between 35-50 years old. The CID in the back yard is lush and green but has no dates. The tree in the front is yellowish and has thousands on dates (that drop all winter). Should I be concerned about the yellowing of the fronds? Is there a reason why the CID in the backyard does not have dates? Both trees have not been pruned in 10+ years. We have barn owls living in them.

Whenever it gets in the way or turns brown. Use sterile pruning equipment.

Great video, do you think I could grow this palm in the Atlanta area? Zone 8a. Usually dont drop below 18° at night during the winter. That temp is maybe 20 times a year during winter months

@@chocolatechipslime he bro it’s still alive and growing but very slowly. I have seen several homes in my area with Sylvesters and Canary Islands growing. The canaries have been growing for over 5 years no protection.
