  • A damning review has found that the Metropolitan Police failed to protect the public from police officers who abuse women.
The report, led by Baroness Louise Casey, also states that the police force is institutionally racist, misogynist and homophobic.
Baroness Casey has also warned that she "cannot sufficiently assure" the public that there are not more officers like Couzens and Carrick in the force.
The findings echo those of the Macpherson Inquiry in 1999 that took place following the murder of Stephen Lawrence.

I’m afraid that I cannot accept that Rowley has a glimmer of the magnitude of how bad the Met is . He has worked in the Met for years and he was unaware unlike the rest of London citizens that standards were in the gutter before he took the job? To me it’s the willingness to excuse, cover up, deny that officers are behaving inappropriately that is at the heart of the problem. A choice between holding another officer accountable or excusing them is at the heart of Cozens and Carrick and countless others. Rowley is like an abuser, who owns he shouldn’t have hit his partner but it’s not domestic violence.

The Met should recruit exclusively from the BAME community, even lower entry requirements if necessary.
It worked so well for Memphis Police...

The initial vetting procedure when joining the police, needs to be much more thorough. Then, whilst serving, a further vetting assessment is needed at 5 year intervals, in order to ascertain any changes in a individual's attitude, performance, conduct etc. This 5 year assessment needs implementing soonest for current serving officers, throughout the UK. Also, offences on a scale, such as, predatory acts, committed by officers, should not be dealt with 'in house' but should be immediately dealt with by an independent body, which is marginally represented by Senior police officers.

Sorry but its both or 104 genders which ever way you want to look at it but the biggest let down is the PCSO women leaving other women at risk when they are crying out for help. Mysogyny is not actually created by 1 gender.

Louise Casey is who, qualified in what, with her main roles being administering benefits and homelessness. In what way can she possibly have the experience to report on the Met? Especially with regard for policing requirements in todays world.
