when the art becames music and music melts with feelings, thats when a piece of art is born. Best live ever played of this APP song. This should be mandatory piece to be watched by everyone. Simply unreachable.
Gracias Dios mio x haberme hecho nacer en 1960 y aprender a diferenciar musica de MUSICA y cantantes de CANTANTES!!!! R.I.P JOHN MILES. TE SEGUIREMOS ESCUCHANDO!!!!
As a huge APP fan, I have to say John is the best singer I've heard for the project songs. I get goosebumps every time I listen to this version. He has an incredible and touching voice.
Isn´t this unbelievable? John Miles takes part in NOTP for so many years and there is just one word for his performance: amazing, amazing, amazing........ Whatever he sings it takes my breath away! Please don´t stop doing this, John!
this is what the alan parsons original studio band could of been envisioned on stage, it's a faithful rendition with obvious choices considered for live staged plerformance. john singing the song faster one of them, a aderable attempt and one i'm greatful to see.
I have seen this live at night of the proms at Antwerp as a 8 year old child i will never forget this song wonderful song and wonderful voice by mr miles 🙏🙏🙏
I had never seen John Miles singing an Alan Parsons Project 's title (I know he was singing in "Gaudi"), it's very impressive ! In their album , I was listening this song again and again!!
Man Alive !! I have loved this band /project for years but I have only just discovered this track and what a discovery .Bloody awesome and John Miles is the man . Magical .Thank you for posting
was in bcn in 1998, for a couple months...went to la sacrada familia several times, it had walls, but the inside was full of artisans, sculptors, ladders, mechanical lifts, dust and hopes... god, I wish I could be there now.
This is not the Alan Parsons P. It's just John Miles, together with the night of the proms backing band, performing the song (written by EW and AP) he sang the lead vocals on the "Gaudi" album, featuring here the chinese guitarist Xuefei Yang on the flamenco guitar section
Thank you woolfson. It is obvious to me one of your / my heroes has just passed away. This is the most fitting tribute to Eric Woolfson and one of the most spectacular live performances I have ever witnessed. Thank you for posting, and if there is any more please lets have em. Unfortunately I could not make the recent gathering of John Miles / Alan Parsons in Frankfurt 5th Dec 09.
@Stahldorn It is good because John Miles is the original lead vocal for the song. This version is enhanced with the choir, the guitar solo and the ful orchestra. Which normally marks the kind of music AP and EW used to compose.
oh god, this is simply A W E S O M E, I am almost crying, this is by far the best live performance I have seen of an APP song, What a solid vocal interpretation, instrumentals were GREAT, and that guitar solo, from "Paseo de gracia", magnificently put into "Sagrada Familia" was absolutely impressive, beautiful... POR dios, esto es fantastico, magnifico, estoy a punto de llorar, esta es por lejos la mejor interporetacion en vivo que he visto de un tema de APP, y ese solo de "Paseo de gracia"...
The audio may be a bit "off", but I am still very glad that this was posted. I love APP and especially the Gaudi album and I hadn't seen the "better" video.
Actually there was another version of this online (performance from another night I think) that was even worse video quality. Oddly enough, I think it was slightly better than this one.
@MalcaratMartinez you`re absolutly right! I have heard a few versions of this song, most of the time with John Miles i have to admit :), and each and every one worked in a way .But this one is my absolute favorite and no one could ever do it better or with more passion than John Miles did. Love it and always will!
OMG.. I just came back from Barcelona and remember how I watched The Sagrada Familia Cathedral with eyes filled with tears... remembering the incredible lyrics of this favorite song of mine. This was one of the most breathtaking moments in my life. Now I understand why AP made a song about the cathedral.
@mccormickbom It was Eric Woolfson, he passed on Dec 2nd, 2009 of kidney cancer. so sad............. we lost a great musican, as well i was hoping him and Alan might do at least one more album together with the original band. too late now.....
@tangragama different paths in music eric wanted to move onto musical theater and alan wanted to concentrate bringing the woolfson parsons projects to the stage just different arrea's of music and stage expression who was wrong no one they gave us so much as a team and on thy're own.
mccormickbom i think they are celebrating Eric Woolfson at least this posting is mentioning his passing. They mentioned a name John Miles, and it is written under the uploaded, and someone made a comment that he was a great singer for the project. I believe Woolfson sang a bunch of tunes too, and I am sure he was great, not sure which ones though. They kinda identify him with Parsons as being the main components, if i am not mistaken, while he was alive. In a cd, i read that the song you don't believe, was kind of expressing some kind of rupture between them, and so i thought he sang you don't believe, but I found a video with this guy Lenny Zakatek or something like that, and he sings that one and I wouldn't wanna be like you, he is awesome too.
Alfonso, Eric Woolfson is the main vocalist and assistant with Alan Parsons who produced all their albums. John Miles singing on this tune was the singer who played on the original recording. Eric Woolfson is in my top 3 vocalist of all time. Alan Parsons Project had many guys singing throughout all their albums.
@@paulyotwn I realise this is a late reply and you may not see it, but I am a somewhat newcomer to this wonderful band and am so enjoying discovering their music and reading about their interesting history. The funny thing to me is that in addition to all the terrific, talented singers that were utilised over the years, Alan himself is a great singer and for whatever reason chose not to sing on the records. I have seen him in lots of live videos on TH-cam and love his vocal performances
Si es que no falla, sabía que me iba a encontrar gilipolleces en los comentarios de esta pedazo de canción. Este país me da vergüenza, con sus territorios/países no siendo mucho mejores
Well...the thing is APP usually begs to differ...I can watch all their concerts (well most to be precise...) and only very few of them i wouldn't like and on very rare occasion! And this is the case, i don't simply like how it is performed, it could be by miles (what an irony eh?...) better!...
Rest In Peace you talented and lovely man. The timbre in his voice on this brings me out in goosebumps every time.
So sad to hear today of his passing, what an amazing voice especially on the Alan Parsons Project tracks like this one.
Thank you for the music John Miles RIP

This is a monumental performance of this song. I wish APP would perform with such an orchestra.
John Miles was one of the great voices of the APP albums.
whoa... I have always loved this song, but this version is even more awesome!!! John Miles ... man can he SING!
Descansa en Paz y que el Cordero y el León vigilen el tributo de tu obra.

Rest in peace John :'(
Eric Woolfson was a musical genius. The voices soar like the cathedral towers.
As a huge APP fan, I have to say John is the best singer I've heard for the project songs. I get goosebumps every time I listen to this version. He has an incredible and touching voice.
I agree. The best one of a bunch of amazing singers.
Gaudí inspiró a este genial compositor, Alan Parsons, a crear una música excelente. La Sagrada Familia, todo un temazo.

I had never seen John Miles singing an Alan Parsons Project 's title (I know he was singing in "Gaudi"), it's very impressive ! In their album , I was listening this song again and again!!
He also sung “Stereotomy”, the title song of the album with the same name. Just unreal!
La mejor interpretacion de MILES!!! Hello, Im fan de Alan y Eric !! ARGENTINA Laura

12boocat It is a Magic place
This song has a special place in my heart. In my teenage years my jazzdance group performed with "La Sagrada Familia".
One of the best songs ever made.

I was also a bit surprised to hear it faster than on the recording. But it still is an impressive live version of this great piece :)
but not to late to enjoy the wonderful music alan and eric both gaves, both as the project and in thy're solo endeavours
Amazing song, amazing voice, amazing project, let that be a lesson for today's wanna-be artists who think make music.
Powerful, moving and breathtakingly beautiful.

paseo de gracia in la sagrada familia is like dream within a dream :) nice
great performance of an awesome song.
it's the ways he sings that's special
Fantastic performance of John Miles and everybody else too - just too bad the video quality was beyond acceptable :-(

@TheEweTubeChannel same here. i get tears listening to this song. it's good, but the tears are for my childhood.
the best one I 've heard before
It is only God...............
I agree wholeheartedly with fabriciobisso! The Paseo de Gracia solo at 4:39 is even better than the studio version on the album, IMHO.
They were all in a hurry to finish the song.
Hahahaha
love it !!
awesome.

is this the same john miles who composed or sang the superb "music"?
Yes it is! He contributed on several Alan Parsons Project Albums! Alan Parsons produced some of John Miles solo albums!
He has to give Alan a call, for humanity's sake :-D

Who is little girl .....guitar player?...
The choir in the beginning [the first two "La sagrada familia"'s] is... not really good. But all the other parts are magnificent :)
the clip is of course great but the recording volume alas way too high!
: (
What a mouth. It very pretty!
Then you should disappointed when you go to most concerts. A lot of bands have the music sped up. Most concert music doesn't sound right.
I don't know why they are racing through the song???
much too fast
