Should’ve brought Keith David onboard and have Dr. Facilier be the antagonist in the ride; he shrinks the guests in the boat and kidnaps them to use as pawns to lure Tiana. It would be risky but more compelling of a storyline for those wishing to have the experience of an epic Disney film.
I agree 100%. They should have him be the one to shrink the guests to cause havoc for Tiana and friends. Then Mama Odie comes in to unshrink the guests and fight off Dr. Facilier with her magic towards the big drop. The voodoo demons can chant "Are you ready?" as a build up to that drop with Mama Odie and Dr. Faciler's shadow in the corner, facing each other off for the last time. After the big drop, Mama Odie (after defeating him) could say "Not bad for a 197-year-old blind lady! Now which one of you guests have messed with the shadow man?" Only time I went to Disney World was back in 2008 and Splash Mountain was the whole families favorite ride. We must have waited in line to ride it a total of like 8-10 times. One time someone made an inappropriate gesture during the big drop when you get your picture taken and just our luck it was the time we wanted to get the picture printed. Luckily the folks at Disney made up for it by getting us back on the ride right away, it was awesome. If I went back to Disney World now, there is no way I'd ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I love The Princess and the Frog but this ride is a lifeless imitation.
Disney was a great company back then. Iger also ran the company apolitical back then even though he was left. I was privileged to be able to ride Splash Mountain a few times in my life. I will not be getting on this ride.
Its political. Disney is on the right political sides so groups like Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street, and people like Bezos and Gates will keep them afloat, like they did pumping money into AB-InBev to make up for the bud light boycott.
They've still got quite the pile to burn through from all the decades of making stuff that people USED to want to pay for, its just taking a bit longer to get down towards that event horizon.
No it won't. They are taking your stolen tax dollars via the federal reserve owned by the Rothschilds. They take the stolen taxes and funnel it to BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard. They will NEVER run out of your money.
Universal executives are probably laughing at Disney right now. When Epic Universe opens, WDW is going to lose a huge chunk of its audience, especially those disaffected with the current Disney trend.
Orlando has gone from a 4:2 ratio in park days from Disney to Universal to the complete opposite. You will have families saying, "maybe we'll just spend our one extra day at Disney"
The ride should've been you're visiting Tiana etc. Facilier pops up here and there eventually kidnapping you as valuable friends of Tiana. Have him explain he got one last chance from his friends on the other side and he's desperate. Have a chase ensue throughout the bayou with all the characters popping up to help find the guests but Dr. Facilier keeps managing to slip away through trickery and voodoo spells from his 'friends' this culminates in the laughing place being made into a climax fight between Tiana, Mama Odie, etc, and Dr. Facilier. Then near the beginning of the climb for the final drop, Facilier is cornered and he tells Tiana and Odie etc to stop or he'll throw the guests over the cliff, have it be menacing in appearance and to 'Are your ready?' with his evil spirit friends mocking/threatening you as you go up the hill, then you go over and get saved by Mama Odie etc, Facilier captured or poofed away again and then follow up with the party at the end with all the cast.
ok, I think we can safely say Disney is on it's finally downward spiral. Post proxy battle, it's clear the current leadership will neither quite, nore can they repair the situation. So I guess my question is how far does this go before something legally-breaks that begins the final crumbling and bisection? (Seriously, that's where this is obviously headed. But what will the final blow be?)
Disney posts a multibillion dollar profit every year. They also have fourteen billion dollars of cash on hand. Blowing a few hundred million on "disasters" every year doesn't really move the needle that much. They may be morally and creatively bankrupt, but they're as far as a company can be from being financially bankrupt. Even if/when they start a downward spiral, it would take years or a decade to play out.
Sadly, that will not possibly be able to happen with Iger, the current shareholders, and the current board. There are rumors that Disney is making OLC retheme theirs too😔. It is what it is even though it sucks. The media made this ride look “racist”. The woke media capitalizes small flaws and connects the dots to make everything look a thousand times worse than it is.
Luckily he was in florida, which has to be one of the easiest places in the world to be a meteorologist (I'm saying this with my tongue firmly in cheek, but still.)
Whatever happens to Disney now, the shareholders have no one to blame but themselves as they voted to keep these soulless, talentless hacks in power. Remember, actions (like voting) have consequences
Imagine the ride as the original movie. Where Tiana in her blue dress, kisses the frog and then we turn into frogs in the bayou while Dr faciller chases us with his demons! Imagine “are you ready” as you’re going up the hill and dr facillier poofs smoke and his eyes are showing in the dark as you splash down!!!! And then the ending is Tiana and naveens wedding, then a peppers ghost effect of the frogs turning into their human forms. Tiana in her beautiful green dress!!! With mama odie!!!
They missed the opportunity to put a multi carrier Cell tower inside the Water Towers in both parks, as is the usual move in the Cellphone Connected world. They Missed the Boat there. AGAIN. This whole thing should have been a Holiday Overlay for Splash Mountain. Bad Show, Disney. 😢 11:14
Screens. That’s as low effort & unimaginative as it gets. And why, for a physical ride, use screens. People can stay home and watch their big screen TV’s.
Not only did Disney get rid of Splash Mountain, but they were in a rush to open the new ride and didn't bother to make sure it worked properly. A couple of the new animatronics don't look bad, though.
I've said from the beginning that Princess and the Frog could carry it's own new and unique attraction at the very least. It could certainly hold down a New Orleans Square style expansion near the Riverboat and Haunted Mansion which could obviously include a Tiana's Place restaurant.
The problems could be rooted in structure like the Mount Everest Sasquatch or the Haunted Mansion dinning room Glass wall. Where they'd have to dismantle the entire structure of the ride in order to fix problems
True, though I would've thought taking the whole thing offline for over a year and radically retheming it would've been a good enough opportunity to do it. It's not like they were rushing to get it back online in a week. On the other hand...that would've cost money. A high short-term cost to correct a long-term problem. The opposite of what they seem to have the appetite for.
If Disney World and Disneyland want me to ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure, they need to delay the attraction until they add more animals and also rewrite the storyline and fix the maintenance breakdown issues. First of all there needs to be more cute cartoon animal critters like 3 possums hanging on a tree branch, add a black skunk character not featured in the film, also add some deer and also please add the dancing pink flamingos for the "Dig a little deeper" song section. Also have Prince Naveen with Tiana and maybe give Tiana a more colorful outfit. Also Remove Mama Odie from certain sections including when we shrink down and up to the dropoff and replace it with our favorite villain Dr. Facilier as a spirit who will scare us. and make it have scary elements like earlier Snow White's Scary Adventure ride and add evil shadows, spooky trees, also have the song "Friends on the other side" chanting "Are you ready?" playing as we go on the dropoff and see Dr. Facilier waving us off the dropoff. The finale party is fine but everything else needs a complete rework. As of now I agree it's a Disney dud ride just like Autopia ride which is also my least favorite boring worst ride ever. I may as well choose Autopia over Tiana's Bayou Adventure and ignore the Splash log ride unless they will be willing to listen to Disneyland fans and fix it. If they don't fix it I'll ignore it the next time I visit Disneyland.
@@iceprism367 I'd honestly say he's the last great Disney villain. Some like Mother Gothel, but I found her rather mid. In the words of megamind, "there is a difference between villain and super villain."
@@TheNinjaDC That's understandable. I think Gothel is more of a close to home type of villain. She is a good exploration of narcissistic parenting and gaslighting, but I guess not everyone has had a parent like that. She's very accurate to that reality while Facilier is more of a larger than life type of villain.
Charita Carter was the imagineer in charge of this failure. As far as I know the other ride she's worked on is Micky and Minnie Railway. It makes more sense why there's too many screens in Tiana and the story seems geared toward preschoolers. If Disney cared at all, they should've hired the imagineers from Tokyo who did the new Fantasy land rides.
Disney should put the money they use for Marvel & Star Wars films, & repair the attraction rides. My last Disneyland trip , the pirates of Caribbean, my favorite ride was down for the day for repairs. Disappointing day. Luckily, my second day, it was up & running. No more Disney trips for me & family.
The ride is basically sounds a Dora the Explorer kind of story. A safe, dumbed-down, and non-threatening story to park your toddlers in front of. Tiana is having a party at her restaurant and needs a band. You help Tiana search for a band. You find some in next scene. Then you have to find a really small band member. You find one in next scene and get big again. Then you go to the party where you are told you are real VIP of the party, making sure the viewer knows they are very good for finding that band and are appreciated. And then it is over. The demographic for this ride sounds like it is for toddlers.
Splash mountain was one of the last bastions of Disney Magic in a land practically run by Sauron from Lord of the Rings. As the entire ride features talking animals, racism had nothing to do with it. They had to get rid of that magic, pure and simple, so that people have no choice but to swallow their boring, colorless, and un-exciting crap.
You know why all those screens are there? It's cheap! And not just to build and run, but to update for themed holidays and events. No new animatronics, no new motion programming, just video that you can edit elsewhere and upload when needed. And way cheaper than changing all those little costumes in It's a Small World. We're creating new holidays all the time (since when did the entire country start celebrating Juneteenth?). And what social cause are we going to celebrate next month in a year or so? ...gotta plan ahead for these things.
The times I've been on Splash Mountain, I have never had it broke down and I can say that now that it's gone. Never once had it broken down while I rode it.
I think that I'm glad I never got to go to WDW as a kid. Because of that, I have no nostalgia for it, I'm not attached to it, I've never been, I'm never going, and I'm not taking my kids.

Disney lacks all creativity so they are incapable of making the ride into a coherent story
"We replaced the authentic African folklore that Uncle Remus was based on with a European fairytale forcibly wrenched out of context and given to New Orleans Creole blacks. Notably, we called it 'The Princess and the Frog', a French fairytale…but we are so irretrievably, bestially stupid that we accidentally made the Russian version, 'The Frog Princess', instead." (If the girl becomes a frog, that's Frog Princess not Princess and the Frog. Also Mama Odie is Baba Yaga and Dr. Faciliere is Koshchei the Deathless.)
Br'er Rabbit is a trickster hare from Wolof folkore, and Br'er Wolf was originally a hyena.
The documents about the making of The Princess and the Frog contradict your take.
It feels like Eugene Krabbs is running Disney parks instead of Mickey Mouse.
More like Flintheard Glomgold (Scrooge McDuck's greedy rival from DuckTales)
Should’ve brought Keith David onboard and have Dr. Facilier be the antagonist in the ride; he shrinks the guests in the boat and kidnaps them to use as pawns to lure Tiana. It would be risky but more compelling of a storyline for those wishing to have the experience of an epic Disney film.
Or maybe used those evil voodoo demons and the drop is use escaping them
Risky? That is so harmless in the most harmless environment ever.
They needed to save that money getting Oprah back as Tiana's mom
I agree 100%. They should have him be the one to shrink the guests to cause havoc for Tiana and friends. Then Mama Odie comes in to unshrink the guests and fight off Dr. Facilier with her magic towards the big drop. The voodoo demons can chant "Are you ready?" as a build up to that drop with Mama Odie and Dr. Faciler's shadow in the corner, facing each other off for the last time. After the big drop, Mama Odie (after defeating him) could say "Not bad for a 197-year-old blind lady! Now which one of you guests have messed with the shadow man?" Then the rest of the ride can keep the final tunnel the way it is.
@@maddieb.440 Maybe his soul was released and he’s out for revenge against Tiana and it’s up to the guests and Mama Odie to warn and protect her

Tiana doesn't look like herself. Naveen is only in the last scene. Facillier is nowhere to be found. Are we sure this is supposed to be Princess and the Frog?
The fact that I found people saying Tiana's Bayou Adventure is worse than Superstar Limo restored my faith in humanity by 5%.
yea superstar limo at least had the creepy puppets which were mildly interesting in a morbid way, this just is boring af
This is Iger's rocket rods
It is because Superstar Limo did not replace something that was so iconic to Disney parks.
I think the Disney suits are gonna be horrified by how much this gets compared to Superstar Limo. It’s the same story basically. That was not on my what will Disney do next to screw themselves bingo card.
Superstar Limo at least had an ironic charm in how ridiculously cheap and gaudy it looked. This looks like money was spent in favor of complete pablum.
Geeky called in her last evening video. Without the villain there is no drama.
Splash Mountain died for nothing
We all knew it was going to die for nothing. Didn’t think it would be this bad.
@@daltoncady4038 Bad? More like worse
What did they think would happen when they replaced splash mountain
Just by the looks of this you can easily tell this is an insincere replacement of Splash Mountain, this would've been a whole lot better if this was a new ride BUILT SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE PARK but it does embody Bob Iger's pretentious, dishonest, disingenuous and phony business models and practices for Disney and anti-consumer attitude against fans
"And how!"
- Allan -
😂😂😂
Also condescending. He is just awful.
Supposedly the ceo did a ride thru and even he said the ride is boring. Such a massive fail.
I hate Bob Iger to death so much!🤬😡🤬🔥😠
Bingo. They had Swiss Family Treehouse. Tear that down and build a Princess and the Frog ride based on the story from scratch. Add Dr. Facilier. Why is he good enough for the movie and not the ride? Makes zero sense.
I got chills down my spine when Tiana yelled, "If you can hear my voice, get out of there! It's in the building! IT'S IN THE BUILDING!"
LOL! This is glorious! They didn't even take the time to fix the previous rides problems. They just put a new coat of paint over it.
Exactly what must be expected of Disney's current brand of quality.
The backlash is well deserved!
Not having the Shadow Man in New Orleans is a huge miss. Not just for thrills - can you imagine Are You Ready going up to the big drop?- but also N O history. The city is bathed in shadows like Charleston and Salem. To ignore the film and history? Unforgivable
I agree,I’m from there and there is a lot of amazing ancient history in that city.
Trading in an iconic ride for two dancing alligators.
Epic fail.
The broke a very important Walt Disney rule he said of were gonna replace a ride we better make sure it bigger and better then what was there before. These so called imagineers should be fired for this 100 million dollar plus boring ride
I blame the execs more than the imagineers
Waltz ghost is showing his anger the only way he can from the grave
Disney: "This is fine..."🔥🔥🔥
Unforgivable. You don't destroy history.
Destroy history? That is what Woke do.
Libs love destroying history.
This is like the Wonka event in the UK.
I don't see a villain in that except for how spoiled the parents let their kids get, I don't see Wonka or Grandpa Joe as villains, BUT I totally get your point!
This has "strong independent women who don't need no man were completely in charge" written ALL over it.
It sounds do bad to say that a white male did a better job than women of color. However, in this case, Tony Baxter did better than Charita Carter and Carmen Smith.
Only time I went to Disney World was back in 2008 and Splash Mountain was the whole families favorite ride.
How Disney is still afloat after all of these L's is amazing in itself. $ will run out eventually.
I hope disney keeps on losing.
Over at Epic Universe they're showing this to workers and having a good old laugh.
Splash Mountain? More like Broken Mountain.
Brokeback Mountain. 🤣🤣🤣
Broccoli Mountain. Hobby Lobby Hallway. Tifi buttocks 😂
Trash Mountain
@@zacharymcmillan2788 Broke-Black Mountain
It represents the Disney team, boring and mediocre.
Tear it down and bring back splash mountain
Sadly, that will not possibly be able to happen with Iger, the current shareholders, and the current board. There are rumors that Disney is making OLC retheme theirs too😔. It is what it is even though it sucks. The media made this ride look “racist”. The woke media capitalizes small flaws and connects the dots to make everything look a thousand times worse than it is.
Bob Iger, Weather Man who couldn't predict the weather to CEO who cannot run a company without F'n up
They should rename it "Backlash Mountain".
Back-sp-lash? Lol just spitballing
Tried to warn you… 🤦♀️
Me too. I had a feeling this was gonna suck.
Disney obviously paid for cheap temporary repairs
Not even repairs. It's being held together by duct tape and dreams
They could have had an easy A with these two words: Doctor Facilier
Universal builds Epic Universe.
Disney downgrades their rides.
Clearly they don’t understand how this is supposed to work
That's why universal gets our money and not Disney, the wife and I go every year!
The weatherman just keeps destroying Disney.

Luckily he was in florida, which has to be one of the easiest places in the world to be a meteorologist (I'm saying this with my tongue firmly in cheek, but still.)
why is she wearing a pith helmet?..there is no safari in this ride
This all just shows how half-hearted the whole remake is. I mean why did they not just replace the ride system like a proper refurbishment does?
a "mixed" reaction. Yeah ok the video they posted has exclusively negative comments and downvotes.
Disney should sell the US and Eruo parks to OLC and just collect the royalties. They don't make changes because of petitions.
As Joey Potatohead says, "GET WOKE, GO YOU KNOW THE THING"
If Splash Mountain was like a B+ , this retheme seems more like a D to me.
"What do you mean 'we have to fix the ride'? We did. We got rid of the problematic racism of Walt's time."
The wait times will be hidden forever for this
They missed the opportunity to put a multi carrier Cell tower inside the Water Towers in both parks, as is the usual move in the Cellphone Connected world.
Everything disney touch in last 10 years got worse.
Not only did Disney get rid of Splash Mountain, but they were in a rush to open the new ride and didn't bother to make sure it worked properly. A couple of the new animatronics don't look bad, though.
Censorship is bound to make people quit. Nature is able to fight back like at the live action Snow White set.
“Hobby Lobby” flowers….you made me spit my morning coffee out of my nose! Hilarious and right on point!
I guess I was lucky as a kid as I never had a ride break down on us as a family while we rode them at Disneyland in the 90s.
Anyone missing Splash Mountain?! Anyone that thought the Tiana re-theme was gonna capture the same magic Splash Mountain is crazy.
I do find it hilarious how universal it is everyone wants Dr Facilier.
Well it is both dumb and a major missed opportunity not having him in the ride.
He's an awesome villain. It makes sense.
A Black, voodoo villain would cost them too many ESG points.
@@iceprism367
I'd honestly say he's the last great Disney villain.
Considering how much Disney dropped the ball with Galaxy's Edge, this comes as no surprise.
Galaxy's Edge feels nothing like Disneyland and I veer far from it.
Hear me out. Dr Facilier singing "Friends on the other SIIIIIDE!" as you crest the lift hill and go over.
"Just let the past die".
Yeah, along with the future
Tiana in explorer suit: "Hola, can you say 'Boring'"
If you fire all the old white men with experience, tends to get harder to build things.
Love that Tony Baxter bailed on this ride. That should have said everything. He was like, "Nope, I'm out."
I think that I'm glad I never got to go to WDW as a kid. Because of that, I have no nostalgia for it, I'm not attached to it, I've never been, I'm never going, and I'm not taking my kids.
Opening Soon: Disney’s Stock Crash Mountain (look at their stock price for the last month and tell me that it doesn’t resemble a log flume ride).
Gee, who could have seen this coming? 😂
Does anyone find it strange how when they focus on giving POC something, they always make it second rate? Man, Disney just can’t get anything right these days! What the hell is going on down there? They’re so out of touch with their audiences in every way, I’ve practically given up on them. Sad, but not going to be seeing any of their movies in theaters or go to the parks for quite a long while until they get off their rears and mean it!
Geeky, let’s be honest. The defenders will always make a bs excuse.
“Well you have to ride it b4 you judge”
“Well you just have to ride it multiple times”
“Well it’s not made for everyone so you can’t judge”
