I give this a review a Useful/10. All the people complaining about your complaints seem not to realize that complaints are legit criticisms and impressions, too. If they want something more positive, there are a ton of other reviews out there. I personally look for the negative reviews first and then move my way up to the more positive to get a balanced sense, knowing what I like and what I don't. So far, I think I'd really not much like Myth even with the positive reviews I've watched. Anyway, thanks for the coverage.
What you missed is the unavoidable decay timer on your base pieces. You have to constantly go around and repair your foundation and walls or it'll all just collapse. Yes there is the base flag system but it requires having more then 3 people gathering stuff for it. Which when you have a group of people who want to build big but also go explore? Its a 0/10
Remember guys this is a "First impressions" video, take it with a pinch of salt, dude says there's no tutorial......there is, it's literally on-screen as he says that.
Ah yes. Because reading paragraphs is a tutorial. It's not a proper tutorial. Many other games that I have played and have reviewed on this channel have had proper tutorials that engage you and walk you through the process to help you learn. Not sit for an hour on the beach to read and scroll through the tons of talent point branches that bloats this system far more than any game I've ever played.
@@excalligatorreviews4088 No it's on the right hand side of the screen, pretty much the same level of tutorial all these games have, it tells you to press L and it runs through how to spend points to unlock recipes etc. 7 days to die, Ark and Conan are hardly any better
First time seeing a video from your channel. I appreciate your in depth look and tagging Chapters! This is something very much so missed by other review content creators. I also like the fact you rate each facet of the game.
Your not supposed to run anywhere really. I only run to get my horse and they are on the edge of the starting zone. I always make sure to get my horse as soon as I unlock the reins and fodder.
Played this game in the beginning and have since picked it back up. While some servers are sparse it is a good pve game and I have almost 2k hours in it. The new dlc and roadmap forward seem to be well thought out. Your complaints sadly sound like sour grapes.
Not bad on pve. I don’t PvP so I have not experienced it. I have 2000hrs and have enjoyed it. If you land on a good server you should have a lot of fun.
How does one prove a stolen code!. It's like Cola company filing against rest of the cola's in the world...this makes no sense. If it is a any specific or patented mechanic then yes i could understand. But for that to happen ARK needs to have some unique game mechanic which it doesn't.
I am not sure you like games based on how much you complain. I know starting out so negatively will likely cause you to dismiss the rest of what I have to say, but the video felt really negative and toxic overall. From a games journalism perspective, I think it is in your best long-term interest to find gems in the systems to appreciate or to recognize things that might be well-liked by a different kind of gamer than yourself. For example, you complain so much about the complexities of the skill system. I love the system because it creates long-term farming goals whereas most games offer a much smaller dedication to people who just want to sit back and hit trees. Again, maybe not something you enjoy but something someone in the larger audience you are trying to cultivate might and will help make game devs trust your content and give you keys since you aren't always being negative about everything all the time. I am going to leave the content suggestions at that, and maybe see another video next time to see if you are interested in taking any of that advice to heart. But I also have some thoughts about your production below, which is a different thing. Also if you are thinking long-term about this kind of content (which I think you are pretty good at) you should avoid saying things like "gang-raped" to keep yourself more viable to advertisers and sponsors. You should fix your rating titles to include the actual "section" instead of the same generic thing over and over again. It shows more polish and care. I think adding to that would not blow passed major issues with the game. When talking about a major lawsuit that had huge implications for the game's development you should have more depth than "stolen coding or something like that". Especially since you cite the lawsuit as a reason why there is seemingly missing content and a rush to 1.0 release. From a production standpoint, I think you have a few small things to polish to help make the content stronger, plus a need for more careful and thoughtful script writing.
If I didn't like games, I wouldn't be doing this. I am honest about how I feel about what ever game I play. Brutally honest. If I don't like it. You will know. If I like it. You will know. I am not being paid by anyone so I don't have to kiss ass. As for this game. It does genuinely suck minus the few thing I liked. That doesn't mean I hate games. In terms of recent games I've reviewed I love Ark. I love Palworld. And the majority of my reviews have been above 3/5. So if you only saw 2 of my videos and based your opinion on me on that, you are not one to accuse of doing research. For the lawsuit, it's not a focus of my video so I have no reason to stick on it for to long other than making someone aware of it. My issue was not that they got held back by it. But that it was they went straight to 1.0 status with almost no changes to the game. Instead, they should have said. "OK. The suit is over. We're amping up production and working on new content" then after another year come out into 1.0. Cause now it looks rushed out and half assed. For my videos. My vocabulary is actually toned down. I weld irl. In a shop. In Florida. If you ever heard shop talk, you'd piss yourself. When I choose to say "fuck" or any other term. It's for shock factor or comedic effect. The rest I tone down alot.
I agree. Just the fact he was complaining about crafting in a survival game….that’s literally the point of any survival game. Craft this item to craft that item and so on. I feel like this dude already had a bad taste since he played the earlier version and just continued trashing it. He didn’t go at all into the whole PvE raiding aspect which I was really wondering about. The part when he said that he would miss a lot with the bow and the arrow would just skew off was hilarious. Probably didn’t realize that if you hold your aim too long, your character starts to get tired and you can see the crosshairs start to lose its accuracy. I give his review a 1.5/5
@@excalligatorreviews4088 I am just another passerby but I think you should learn from the feedbacks because I think it can be constructive. I literally paused the video mins in and googled the lawsuit you mentioned because one of the immediate thoughts I had was the cause of lawsuit e.g. is the gameplay so bad that even a lawsuit was filed? I think the word lawsuit paints a negative first impression when used and further more the lawsuit was not clarified.
@Gsxrdannyy Have you played more than 2 survival games? Its not the crafting that was the issue of this game. Its the fact that you have to craft an item to craft an item to make the actual item you want. It's an unneeded bloat of the system. Nightingale is also suffering from this same issue.
you didnt really play the game it seems, say no tutorial, yet there is one, it is even on ur screen, there also a whole guidebook in menu at very right, survival games dont normally have alot of landmarks, you normally need to set respawn in survival games, or it tells you if you set it when make a bed, it is good to have alot to learn and shit, complex is good, most survival games are basic, building fine, crafting fine, and thalls are fine, most survival games dont even have thralls so it is nice, pve fine, there raids and other shit and you just suck at mount and blade combat then?, you hold your aim too long, your character starts to get tired and you can see the crosshairs start to lose its accuracy, ark nor conan is a full on pvp game, conan most of all, it have more pve then most survival games, while ark have a bit, most survival games dont have a story, modding should get better i think, but could be how game was made, makes it hard to mod idk, lawsuit so old and snail games is a bad company and ark suck, just were just being dicks most likely, game was being updated for years and still is so, there even a roadmap from them, what game nowaday dont have bugs, and online games ofc there be lags, even more so if ur far away from host, it not even a wantabe, it is a cool combo of diff games, like mount and blade meet conan, nothing have more bugs and run like shit then ark, nor is the size of ark(500+gb), ects, you just hated it to hate it seems, pretty bad game journalist review, didnt have all the info, did you even look shit up? nightgale is fun but need qol and other shit to be great imo, also just play on a private server with friends, easy fix for alot too.
No it's not fine. Systems can be there and still not function. The functionality is what sucks in this game Any game that requires 500+ hours to review means no one can review it except for crazy mf'ers who devote thier whole life to that game. And at that point they will be bias. I also don't think people should make a review after only 1 hour. Which is why I go for a minimum of 20-30 hours or more. Unless the game is finished fast (like arid) Ark has almost no pve content. Just a few dungeons. The primary gameplay is focused on pvp. Conan has the better mix of pve and pvp. This game is primarily a pvp game. Nothing wrong with that. But that means if you are a player that is only looking for pve, this isn't the game for you. The missions/quests are actually an in depth tutorial.

Once I put my land claim flag I didn't have any decay.
I think you can set the decay to zero on difficulty settings

I have around 1k hours in the game and if you have a group to play with its one of the best survival games ive ever played
do i hear conan music at the end? great review. thanks
looks like conans tech demo
Great video man! I appreciate the in depth score system you have
Great review ,glad your back doing this.. Yes You are 1000% spot on.. I was disappointed with the combat, decay, slog fest of the pve..
Dope video bro, helped me see what it was about
I agree, the UI colors sycj for vision issues , plus the tiny mouse pointer, so vary hard to see/.
ty for saving me money
what's with the Age of Conan music?
I couldn't get ahold of music from this game, I used this music. I like Conan ^_^

good video, think the combat looks too bad for me. saved me a download.

I play a na server that is pretty active. Yesterday it does have Chinese players on it but I have not had any issues.
