Nice review. It does seem a little low in the neck and chin area. For cold weather i like to be able to zip it up over the bottom of my chin. Am I right or didn't you notice this to be a problem?
How has the jacket has held up after a couple months of use? Has it continued to remain at the same level of rainproof-ness & breathability since your first run? How is it holding up durability wise? Thankyou for the review!
Hey Rich, yeah it's still going strong! It's had some good use and still as waterproof. It's a little bit grubby so the next thing to test will be to give it a wash and re-proof and see how it holds up 👍
Does it have a slim fit or does it feel more relaxed? I’m 5’11 and around 160 pounds, so I was thinking of getting a large for layering. I don’t like slim fitting clothes.
Cool review. I'm currently running in the Ronhill Gtx shakedry jacket. It's great- fully waterproof and impressively breathable but man it's flimsy. Managed to tear it a week of owning it and can't remember snagging it on anything. I've repaired it since and doing okay so far. I did get it for a steal though. The North Face one seems like a good alternative. What's your opinion on softshells? I've never tried but I am considering it to avoid that 'boil in the bag' feeling.
I've never tried a shakedry jacket but have heard great things! Sad to hear about durability though. I find softshells have more material to absorb moisture so they can get quite heavy, but they do breath well. I normally layer up baselayer/merino just to keep the warmth in, I sweat quite a lot so am normally wet through after most runs! A windproof gilet could be a good bet though 👍 . Thanks for the comment 🙏
Theses new technologies are scams or naw? Do they really do what they say? Is there a significant difference compared with generic wind/water resistant while breathable
You talked about everything except whether it was waterproof or not. This is a rain jacket, not an AC. If it isn't waterproof, who cares if it is breathable or not! But then again, why ask a reviewer. Actual people who have actually bought and tested this jacket in real life say that it leaks like it's nobody's business. Might as well go ahead and wear a mesh jacket. That also is very breathable. You should be ashamed of yourself conning people into buying a rain jacket that isn't waterproof.

Awesome, thank you!
Thanks for the review! Im looking into buying one and you helped a lot!

Spot on, it is a little low under the chin - I'd recommend wearing a buff around your neck in really cold weather
Thank you for the review
No problem 👍

how does one re-proof? my North Face raincoat is no longer as waterproof after 3 years @@runfreeultra

It’s not a ‘slim’ fit as there is some room in there (I can wear it over the top of my 12l salomon pack) I’m wearing a M 👍
Great jacket, you were convincing, than I went for it!
Good choice!

Always difficult choosing gear. So much choice and so little money!
So true! And there’s LOTS out there to choose from 🤔
What height/weight are you and what size are you wearing? Does it size like say a Salomon Bonatti?
I'm 5'11" (180cm) and weigh 70kg so a M is perfect. I've not worn the Bonatti so can't compare!
What about cleaning it?
Granger's or NikWax techwash and reproofer works really well 👍

I can only compare this to the Pertex on the Inov8 Stormshell and it does breath much better!
