This song came out just in time to be playing on the radio as I was driving 400 miles to get home after one of the most painful breakups in my life. I bought the CD that afternoon and it really helped me through a time I wasn't sure I was going to see the other side of. Definitely a powerful song. Creed was an amazing band.

What if, Are You Ready, Torn, My Own Prison, Say I, Hide, Weathered, Illusion, Wash Away Those Years, Faceless Man, One, Bound & Tied, Young Grow Old, Pity For a Dime, Bullets and that’s not including their monster hits.
I think it’s because they’re labeled as Christian or some sort of religious band band that’s why media and fans turned on them, but regardless the us brilliant and the lyrics are deep.

In fact, according to Scott Stapp’s book, them being labeled as a Christian rock band drove a rift between Stapp and his band mates ultimately one of the reasons leading to their disbanding. They all have their own beliefs, most obviously Christian, but the band as a whole never intended to be labeled as such.

It wasn't so much that Scott went solo as it was more he couldn't control his addictions which led to him being out of the band. Scott isn't afraid to talk about this period of his life as well as his recovery & sobriety.
They list Creed as a "Progressive Rock band" for whatever reasons. Who cares what labels critics label them, they Rock and sound amazing in any wrapper you wish to throw on them. Loved your reactions.

They got so big that they earned a lot of haters, as bands will do when they completely take over a scene (i.e. Limp Bizkit, Nickelback). All 3 bands were very, very good but almost became parodied because of how big they were. Creed never deserved the hate they received.

The lead singer of Creed Scott Stapp was trying to hurt himself or commit suicide. Then rapper T.I. was at a hotel and heard a sound like someone was choking or something and saw Stapp laying on the ground. Creed was one of the first I was really into after grunge going into nu-metal
He wasn’t laying on the ground, he was laying on a ledge of a hotel balcony. He laid out there for 2 1/2 hours before TI rented the room he was outside of.
People used to goof on them because the singer was religious but he got addicted to drugs and came out ok like me .. I’ve always loved their music plus I play the guitar as well and this song gave me goosebumps and it still does , so that’s all I need to know it’s good music.

Creed wasn’t really grunge. They were Hard Christian Rock. Very unique and great band. Creed was really good back in their heyday. I was in HS at the time they blew up and everybody loved them. Their live performances were legit. It’s ashame, they didn’t stick together. They could’ve had tons of great records. But, the couple they did, are awesome.
He jumped off a ledge on a Miami hotel and landed on rapper/hip hop T..I balcony who saved Scott Stapp. Hopefully you will do a reaction to that because TIP spoke on this.
He thought he was headed right, but ended up down the wrong road, he is feeling hopeless and is close to breaking and being buried six feet down seems a lot closer than it should and he is appealing for help and anyone he knew in his past who was good to just hold him down, keep him safe, and prevent him from doing something really bad......but through it all...like Job in the Bible...he has kept his faith and hopes God still has plans for him in his life.............That's my take anyway.
Just fyi, Creed isn't Christian rock, and there are plenty of interviews from the band out there where they flat out say they aren't a Christian rock band. Scott Stapp uses a lot of spiritual references in his lyrics, but that's where it ends. There was a lot of hate for Creed from critics, and they'd toss the Christian label on them as a way of insulting them, and then there were a ton of fans who were Christian who wanted to claim Creed as a Christian band because of Creed's success.

I don't know if they ever claimed to be Christian or not but their music was played in heavy rotation on Christian rock radio stations.

They were somewhat labeled as a Christian rock group, but that's because the lead singers father preached to him a lot about the Bible and religion. That's why you'll find that the lyrics tend to have a Christian overtone to them. I would just call it good music little bit hard rock a little bit pop...

Creed wasn’t really grunge. They were Hard Christian Rock. Very unique and great band. Creed was really good back in their heyday. I was in HS at the time they blew up and everybody loved them. Their live performances were legit. It’s ashame, they didn’t stick together. They could’ve had tons of great records. But, the couple they did, are awesome.

They were never released as Christian rock. Listen to Stapps interviews on why there are some lyrics about faith. It's pretty dark.
He jumped off a ledge on a Miami hotel and landed on rapper/hip hop T..I balcony who saved Scott Stapp. Hopefully you will do a reaction to that because TIP spoke on this.
He thought he was headed right, but ended up down the wrong road, he is feeling hopeless and is close to breaking and being buried six feet down seems a lot closer than it should and he is appealing for help and anyone he knew in his past who was good to just hold him down, keep him safe, and prevent him from doing something really bad......but through it all...like Job in the Bible...he has kept his faith and hopes God still has plans for him in his life.............That's my take anyway.

Just fyi, Creed isn't Christian rock, and there are plenty of interviews from the band out there where they flat out say they aren't a Christian rock band. Scott Stapp uses a lot of spiritual references in his lyrics, but that's where it ends. There was a lot of hate for Creed from critics, and they'd toss the Christian label on them as a way of insulting them, and then there were a ton of fans who were Christian who wanted to claim Creed as a Christian band because of Creed's success.
